Chapter 834: Seperate Rooms
Chapter 834: Chapter 834: Seperate Rooms
The guard’s expression slowly changed.
Ivy continued without giving him time to interrupt.
“Not only that, you constantly feel a strange heat spreading throughout your body. Even when you simply raise your hand or move your arm, you feel as though something is wrong inside your body.”
The moment Ivy finished speaking, the guard became completely stunned.
He stared at her with his mouth hanging open, unable to utter a single word.
Ivy calmly continued.
“Your feet also begin aching whenever they come into contact with cold water. That pain is related to an old injury you suffered in the past. You probably thought it had already healed, but the damage never completely disappeared.”
The guard’s eyes immediately turned red.
Tears began gathering in his eyes before finally spilling down his cheeks.
He dropped to his knees in front of Ivy.
“Please, heroine, forgive me! As long as you treat me, I am willing to give you whatever you want!”
Ivy could not help chuckling.
“Whatever I want? You do not have the ability to give me what I want anyway. Now, move aside and do not stop me from entering.”
The guard swallowed nervously.
“But I cannot do that. Recently, the Young Master specifically ordered us to stop all those scammer doctors from entering the residence.”
Ivy raised an eyebrow. “Do I look like a scammer to you?”
The guard immediately shook his head. “No, you certainly do not. You are miracle doctor for me.”
“Then let me in.”
The guard stared at her for a moment before suddenly bursting into laughter. He slapped his thigh with his palm, his earlier hesitation completely disappearing.
“All right! Since life has already given me such an opportunity, why should I refuse it?”
With that, he personally led Ivy and the others inside.
The moment they entered the residence, the atmosphere changed.
Not far away, Prince Valer was angrily shouting at several maids.
“How can you people not even prepare a simple soup that my mother can drink? Is that really so difficult?”
He shouted so loudly that all the nearby servants and guards hurried over, their footsteps echoing through the corridor.
Ivy frowned as she watched the commotion.
‘Was this really the sibling who had been so kind to me in the future that future self recommended going to him? From the looks of it, he was nothing like the person she had described.’
Just as she was thinking that, Valer turned around and noticed their presence.
The moment he saw Ivy, his brows immediately furrowed. He turned toward the guard with an irritated expression.
“What is a woman doing here? Are you stupid or what? Unless you want to invite trouble, you should know better than to let some random person inside. If something happens to my mother, you will be the one responsible.”
The guard quickly bowed his head.
“Sorry, Prince Valer. This woman came here because she claims she can treat the Young Madam. She even identified my injuries with a single glance.”
Hearing that, Prince Valer became even more furious. He directly slapped the guard on the forehead.
“How can you be so stupid? She could have gathered a little information about you from somewhere and then used it to fool you. You believed her just because she happened to mention your illness? What kind of fool are you?”
The guard looked toward Ivy with renewed suspicion, his expression filled with doubt.
When Ivy noticed this, she could not help laughing. She looked directly at Valer.
“I can even tell you about your hidden illness. Would you like me to reveal it in front of everyone?”
Valer laughed coldly. “Sure, go ahead. Tell everyone. But remember this: if you are lying, I will not hesitate to take your life.”
As he spoke, his hand settled firmly over the hilt of his sheathed sword.
The subtle movement immediately changed the atmosphere around them. The guards instinctively became more alert, while Ivy could sense the faint killing intent radiating from him.
He genuinely seemed prepared to kill her if she exposed him as a fraud.
Ivy paused for a moment.
She had already noticed that Valer was behaving rather recklessly, but she did not point it out. Instead, she calmly focused on the symptoms she could sense from him.
“You have not been able to sleep properly for the past few days.”
Valer laughed. “Tell me something I do not already know. Anyone who looks at me can tell that I have not been sleeping.”
Ivy smiled faintly.
“Well, here is the part that they do not know. You have a persistent pain around your left kidney, and after urinating, you constantly feel as though your entire body has suddenly lost its energy.”
For the first time, Valer’s expression changed.
His eyes became slightly more attentive, but he quickly concealed his reaction. He was not willing to let Ivy know how accurately her words had struck him.
Ivy continued. “Not only that, you seem to have a serious kidney problem. If I am not mistaken, you will not be able to live past two hundred years if this continues.”
Valer’s eyes widened. “You truly seem to know your shit.”
Ivy gave a faint nod. In reality, however, Temporal Storage was doing most of the work for her.
‘It is certainly convenient to have something that can identify illnesses almost instantly.’
Once Ivy was allowed inside, she immediately went to check on Valer’s mother, Catherine.
Catherine was truly a beautiful woman.
Her long silver hair spread across the pillow, contrasting sharply with her pale skin. Her slender figure was covered by an emerald-green dress with a fitted corset around the upper half and a flowing skirt that fell softly toward the floor.
Despite her illness, there was still an elegant aura around her.
Ivy gently took Catherine’s hand. The moment Catherine felt her touch, her fingers subconsciously tightened around Ivy’s hand.
“Little Eugenia, do not run away.”
Her voice was weak and barely audible.
Ivy’s heart softened. ‘She is truly beautiful.’
Even during what might be the final moments of her life, Catherine was still thinking about her children.
Ivy could not help wondering where Catherine’s husband was. ‘Why isn’t he here with her?’
Before she could think further, Valer’s voice pulled her back to reality. “What have you found out about my mother so far?”
Ivy looked toward him.
“Your mother’s entire body is failing. If she is not given proper nourishment and supplements, it is only a matter of time before she dies.”
A faint grimace appeared on Valer’s face.
“How am I supposed to do something like that? I have been trying to find the best nutrition available, but none of the nutrient liquids are helping my mother anymore.”
His voice became strained with desperation. “Is there any way you can save her?”
Ivy gave him a faint smile. “I do have a way, but I will need your absolute trust, Valer.”
“I will give you my absolute trust after I investigate your background.”
Hearing those words, Silas froze for a moment.
‘They will definitely discover how suspicious our identities are if they investigate us thoroughly.’
However, before Valer could say anything else, Ivy suddenly chuckled.
“Sure. Go ahead and investigate me. I will not treat your mother in the meantime.”
Valer stared at her. “So you are here because you want to take my mother’s life?”
Ivy shook her head and walked closer to him.
“My identity is much more complicated than you think. Even if you dig six feet underground, you will not be able to uncover everything about me.”
She looked toward Catherine. “I am here for one purpose, and that is to cure Catherine.”
Hearing those words, Valer’s expression finally eased slightly.
Yet at the same time, he continued feeling a strange sense of familiarity around Ivy.
There was something about her aura that he could not identify. ‘Where have I felt this presence before?’
He could not pinpoint the answer, but from his perspective, Ivy did not feel dangerous.
Finally, Valer allowed her to remain inside the palace. At first, Ivy refused, but Valer insisted.
“If my mother needs you in the middle of the night, it would be better for you to be nearby and available at all times.”
Silas stood beside Ivy throughout the conversation. He occasionally nodded in agreement, but otherwise remained silent and behaved like a personal bodyguard.
Ivy could not help giving him a small thumbs-up.
However, Silas seemed somewhat irritated by the arrangement.
Valer had assigned Silas another room rather than the same room as Ivy.
