The moment the clothes appeared in Jiao Lizhi’s space, the zombie blood and rotten flesh turned into energy and were absorbed by the Space. Afterward, she used her mind to put the clothes into the washing machine and washed them.
Inside the Space, Jiang Ziyi was scooping water from the pond when he saw this. He clicked his tongue and muttered, "Gaia, I never knew you could even absorb the zombie virus."
A moment later, a mechanical voice echoed in the Space. "This feature was added after the Host mutated for the second time."
"You mean this function was created by Fengyan?" Jiang Ziyi asked with raised eyebrows.
"During the second mutation, the System detected a strong surge of emotions from the Host. The absorption feature was created to accommodate the Host’s need and to stabilize her emotions."
Rubbing his chin, Jiang Ziyi muttered, "So, you mean that this absorption feature is not only able to absorb the zombie virus but also Fengyan’s emotions?"
"The detailed function of this feature is to be discovered by the Host. At this moment, this function is only developed by fifty percent. The rest of the function will be customized according to the Host’s needs."
After hearing Gaia’s explanation, Jiang Ziyi chuckled and said, "I never expected that our decision back then would give us such a surprise."
As if noticing his emotions and thoughts, Gaia reminded him, "Great Commander, the System is currently running under an emergency protocol."
"The System’s main task is to protect the Host. The System will eliminate any dangerous factors around the Host, including you. Please be cautious in making your decision."
When he heard this, Jiang Ziyi did not feel scared or worried at all. Instead, he smiled and said, "Gaia, do not worry. I know what I am doing. You only need to do your task well and leave everything else to me."
After he said this, Gaia stopped talking.
Outside the Space, the Phantom Team members finished their bath and were having their breakfast. Unlike yesterday, they only had scallion pancakes, steamed eggs, and milk.
All of these were prepared by Jiao Lizhi and Jin Xuyan in her Space. So, she only needed to take them out and share them with the members.
Even though the food was warm, it was not as fragrant as when it was cooked. Therefore, the scent of food was covered by the rancid stench in the air.
When they were done, they packed up and prepared to leave. Seeing this, Xie Changqian quickly walked over and asked, "Captain Jin, are you leaving now?"
Jin Xuyan nodded and replied, "My Team still has a mission to do, so we cannot stay for too long."
Hearing this, Xie Changqian was disappointed. He did not know when they would be able to meet again, so he said, "Captain Jin, I am currently living at the survivor camp in the southern area of Wanling City’s suburbs. If you bypass that area, please come for a visit."
"I will stop by if I have time," Jin Xuyan nodded.
Before the Phantom Team left, Qin Luzi drew circles on a map and handed it to Xie Changqian while saying, "This is the map of the red areas. Avoid those areas as much as possible. As for the green circle, those areas have been cleared of zombies and still have a lot of supplies. You can bring your people and collect the supplies."
After he finished his words, he went into the cars and, soon after, the cars drove out of the supermarket’s parking lot.
Holding onto the map, Xie Changqian watched them leave until he could no longer see the cars. Not long after, several ability-users walked over and asked, "Captain, should we transport the supplies back now?"
Coming back to his senses, he nodded and replied, "We will return to the camp first before we decide on our next plan."
"Okay," the members agreed readily.
With so many people working together, they finished loading all of the supplies in the supermarket by noon. When they left, there was nothing left besides the shelves and some heavy furniture.
While they were on their way back to the survivor camp, the Phantom Team was busy clearing the zombies at the transport hub area, such as the train station and the cargo hub, where all packages were stored and divided before being delivered to the customers’ addresses.
At this moment, they had just finished packing the zombies’ corpses into metal cubes. Jiao Lizhi waved her hand and stored all the metal cubes in the corner of the grassland area.
When she was done, Jin Xuyan looked at the members and said, "There are too many packages here, and we do not know what is inside. What is more, these items will take up too much space. So, we will not take them."
After giving his fiancée a glance, he added, "After lunch, we will go to the train station."
The members did not think too much and agreed immediately, "Understood."
While the members prepared lunch, Jin Xuyan and Jiao Lizhi went to the warehouse and buildings where these packages were sorted and stored.
Looking at countless piles of boxes inside the massive warehouse, Jiao Lizhi could not hold back her excitement. Before the apocalypse in her previous life, she loved the feeling when she opened a package.
Seeing so many boxes, she quickly stored them in her space. When she had free time, she would open some of them to relax. The feeling of opening a blind box was addictive, and she loved it.
It took them more than an hour to collect everything from the warehouse. When they returned, lunch was ready. After they ate, they went to the next destination.
The distance from the train station to the cargo hub was only forty kilometers. But with the road damage, they not only had to clear the zombies following them, but they also had to fix the road.
During this trip, Su Ruanyi almost cried from being too tired.
