Seeing the metal bed frame, Zhang Yuan grinned, and with a flick of his hand, the earth bed floated toward the bed frame. As the two were put together, they created a strong, stable bed.

Jiao Lizhi walked over and pressed on the bed. When she was sure that the bed was strong enough for them, she took out several old cotton blankets they had found in the abandoned houses before.

The members helped her cover the bed with the blankets. Soon after, a comfortable makeshift bed was ready. Finally satisfied with this, the members finally put down their backpacks and took a rest.

Not far from them, the survivors were watching them with great interest. Most of them were marveling at how peculiar they were. In the apocalypse, who would have time to care so much about hygiene?

With this thought, a group of people finally went to find their Captain.

Usually, no one would come to bother the Captain after sunset. So when they knocked on the office door, the family inside was surprised.

Looking at the closed door, a man asked, "Who is it?"

Outside the door, several people were waiting, and a man replied, "Captain Wen, it’s me."

Hearing the familiar voice, the man stood up and went to open the door. He didn’t let them enter the room and walked out instead. After closing the door, he asked, "Why did you come at this time?"

Meeting his sharp gaze, the group hesitated for a moment before one of them finally said, "Captain, a new group just joined our base. Most of them are ability-users, and they carry good weapons. I thought that they were strong and wanted to inform you about this."

When he heard this, Wen Chang frowned and said, "Since they are ability-users and have good weapons, it means that they are not simple. It’s better to stay away from them, lest you get into trouble."

Knowing that their Captain was someone who was cautious, one of them recalled something and asked, "Captain, didn’t you say you have a pair of twin cousins?"

"What’s the connection between this and that?" Wen Chang asked.

"Captain, I saw two men who looked similar to you in that group. Maybe they are the ones you are looking for."

The moment he heard this, Wen Chang’s eyes flickered for a moment. He observed them for a while before he said, "Take me to them."

Seeing that their Captain finally agreed to meet with those people, the group quickly led him to the Phantom Team.

Following behind them, Wen Chang didn’t hold much hope. After he and his family escaped from the Capital, they met with a lot of people and witnessed a lot of death. It had been almost half a year since the apocalypse. The possibility of his finding his cousins was almost zero.

Twenty minutes later, they arrived at the outer area. When he saw the familiar faces in the distance, his eyes widened in surprise.

"Captain, they are there," one of the men said, pointing to the corner.

Without replying to him, Wen Chang rushed over and stood a few steps away from the Phantom Team.

Noticing someone was there, the Phantom Team members raised their heads to look at him. When they saw his face, they were taken aback.

Wen Kai and Wen Mo both stood up and exclaimed with shock and joy, "Cousin!"

Hearing their voices, Wen Chang finally dared to believe that his eyes were not playing tricks on him. He reached out and hugged them both.

His eyes reddened as he said, "Both of you are still alive! It’s great!"

Being hugged by their cousin so tightly, Wen Mo couldn’t help but pat his arm and say, "C-Cousin, let me go or you will choke me to death."

When he heard this, Wen Chang let them go and laughed heartily. "I’m sorry. I was too excited and didn’t control my strength well."

After coughing for a while, Wen Mo finally turned to his members and introduced them. "Everyone, this is my Uncle’s son, Wen Chang."

Then he turned to his cousin and said, "Cousin, they are my team members."

Wen Chang nodded at them and said, "Hello, everyone."

The members returned his greeting, and Xiao Qi asked, "Brother Wen Chang, have you eaten?"

Knowing how precious supplies in the apocalypse were, Wen Chang was embarrassed to mooch off their food and replied, "I have eaten."

Xiao Qi didn’t insist when he heard this. The members didn’t bother the Wen brothers and gave them space to talk.

Wen Kai pulled his brother to the side and asked, "Cousin, have you met with our family?"

Wen Chang nodded and said, "Before the apocalypse, I visited our grandparents and managed to leave the Capital earlier with them. I heard about the situation in the Capital and continued to escape until we reached this city."

"Where are they? Are my parents with you?" Wen Mo asked.

Wen Chang nodded and said, "They are currently staying with me." After a moment of pause, he added, "Our Grandpa turned into a zombie after the first rain, and our Grandma was bitten by him. Both of them are no longer with us."

The moment they heard this, the light in Wen Kai and Wen Mo’s eyes dimmed. They had prepared themselves for the worst-case situation. But even so, they still felt sad when they heard this news.

After a moment of silence, Wen Chang said, "Both of you should come with me. Your parents will be happy to see you."

"Okay."

Before leaving, they informed Jin Xuyan.

Knowing the situation in this place was not as good as their own bases, Jiao Lizhi handed them some pond water and a bag of boiled eggs. Wen Kai put everything into his backpack before he left with his brothers.
