Chapter 758: Mo Lingshen
Chapter 758: Mo Lingshen
When Chen Qianxiao and his team came out of the military choppers, Andrei Stroganova walked over and reached out his hand. "Captain Chen, welcome to the Lunar Base."
Chen Qianxiao shook his hand and exchanged pleasantries. "Thank you, Vice Commander."
"Your team must be tired from the long journey. We have prepared residences for you and your team. This way, please."
Since he had brought around 500 people with him this time, the Lunar Base assigned them a small residential complex. This area was located in the second ring, not far from the central area where the public hall was located.
Following Xun Che’s suggestion, they built the Lunar Base similarly to the Lin’an City Base. At present, they only have the central area, the second ring, and the third ring area.
Because of the winter, they didn’t have time to build up the third ring area, so most people were staying in the second ring area for now.
After they reached the residential complex, Andrei Stroganova handed a bunch of keys to Chen Qianxiao and said, "Captain Chen, we have prepared some supplies for you and your team. My people will send them over shortly. Please have a good rest today."
His team members and the guards he brought were indeed tired, so he didn’t refuse. "Thank you, Vice Commander. I will pay a visit to Commander Volkov tomorrow."
Andrei Stroganova nodded. "I will inform the Commander."
After he left, Chen Qianxiao distributed the residences and said, "Rest for today and wait for orders."
"Understood," the guards and his team members replied in unison.
Since they were in someone else’s territory, they didn’t wander around and stayed in their residences.
As the sun rose, the snowfall slowly stopped. When the survivors saw this, they cheered and were eager to rush out.
The guards were also eager to check the situation outside. But before they could go out, one of the guards realized that something was not right.
He stared at the lamp post through the window and saw a layer of ice appear on the metal pole. In just a few seconds, the entire lamp post was covered with a thick layer of ice.
Unlike snow, this layer of ice was like waves. It spread to the surrounding area at a fast speed.
"Don’t go out!"
Just after he shouted, a survivor had already opened the door. The moment she took a step outside, her feet were covered with ice.
Everyone was stunned by the sight. Before they could regain their senses, several people had turned into ice sculptures.
As the cold wind blew into the vast hall, the temperature dropped quickly. Even with braziers burning near them, ice spread across the floor, moving toward them at a fast speed.
Seeing this, one of the guards quickly created a fireball and threw it at the ice.
Boom!
The fireball exploded, and the ice turned into vapor. It only stopped for a few seconds before continuing to spread. Seeing this, the fire-type ability-users quickly used their power to stop the ice from spreading further.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
The sound of explosions finally pulled everyone out of their daze. "Close the door! Everyone, gather together, bring the braziers closer! Continue to melt the ice, don’t stop!"
No one knew who gave the order, but everyone moved the moment they heard it. Driven by their survival instinct, they followed the order without hesitation.
BANG!
The door was finally closed by the guards. The next moment, they saw the door covered with a thick layer of ice and quickly moved back several steps.
They thought that the ice would continue spreading. Unexpectedly, the ice stopped there. Only the door was covered with thick layers of ice.
Seeing this, the survivors heaved a sigh of relief. Besides the group who were turned into ice sculptures, no one was injured.
"What the hell is actually happening?" one of the guards muttered in fear.
"If I’m not mistaken, this situation might be caused by the cold air. As long as we block the wind, we will be fine."
When they heard the soft voice, everyone turned toward the source and saw a young girl with thick glasses, wearing old and dirty clothes. She was so dirty that it was hard to see her face clearly. But judging from her features, she might be Huaxia’s people.
Although they doubted her words due to her young age, no one could refute them.
If not for her order, more people might have turned into ice sculptures. Everything happened so fast that they didn’t have time to process what was happening, let alone analyze the situation and make a correct decision.
After a long silence, one of the guards finally walked over and asked, "Little sister, what is your name? Are you from Huaxia?"
The little girl nodded and said, "I came to visit Lunar City with my parents. But we can’t go back because of the apocalypse."
"Where are your parents?"
"Dead."
Everyone was stunned by how calm the little girl was. Judging from her figure, she was at most fourteen or fifteen years old. How could she face everything so calmly?
After another long silence, the guard asked again, "Little sister, a team from Huaxia just arrived. If you want to go back to Huaxia, I can help you report this matter to my supervisor. Maybe you can go back with them when they leave."
The little girl thought for a moment before asking, "Are they the Phantom Team?"
The guard shook his head and replied, "The Phantom Team already left before the first snow. I think this team is called the Silver Snake Team."
Hearing that it was not the Phantom Team, the little girl heaved a sigh of relief and nodded. "Then, I have to trouble you, Brother. Thank you."
The guard was grateful for her timely help earlier and smiled. "You are welcome."
Using the internal radio communication, the guard quickly informed his Captain. After talking for a while, he turned to the little girl and asked, "Little sister, what’s your name?"
The girl hesitated for a moment before saying, "Mo Lingshen."
