Chapter 757: Reunion ( 2 )

Chapter 757: Reunion ( 2 )

Early the next morning, several military choppers left the Lin’an City Base before dawn. At this moment, the snowstorm had stopped, leaving only light snowfall.

Inside one of the military choppers, Chen Qianxiao was reading some information when his satellite phone rang. When he saw the number, a smile appeared on his face as he picked it up.

"Qianfeng, why did you call me suddenly?"

"Brother, I heard from my Captain that you are going to the Lunar Base."

"Mhmm, I’m on my way. What’s wrong?" he asked.

"Brother, when you go there, you should be careful. The political situation of the Tsardom Empire is very messy. It’s better if you don’t interfere with their matters."

Noticing his brother’s worries, Chen Qianxiao’s smile deepened. "Don’t worry, I know what I’m doing. How is the situation in the Green Lake Base?"

"We are doing well here. Although the preparation is not as complete as the Lin’an City Base, we will have no problem passing the winter," Chen Qianfeng replied.

Recalling his team’s plans, he added, "My Captain also planned to go out to check the situation and hunt some mutant animals after the snow stopped."

When he heard this, Chen Qianxiao nodded and said, "Be more careful when you go out."

"Brother, I’m not a kid anymore. I know what to do. It’s you who should be more careful. Someone named Morozov might send people to burn the city again."

"Besides my team, I brought some guards with me, too. There should be no problem."

"If you need help, you have to contact me as soon as possible. I will go over and help you," Chen Qianfeng said.

"Okay, I know. You are so naggy," Chen Qianxiao said helplessly.

"Brother, I have to go train now. Let’s talk another time."

"Go ahead."

After he hung up the call, Chen Qianxiao continued reading the information about the Tsardom Empire.

According to the information from Wei Ying, the one who wanted to burn the entire Lunar City was one of the Light of Dawn Organization’s elders and had a good relationship with the Pei family.

It seemed that the situation was not as promising as he thought. With the organization taking part in this matter, it wouldn’t be easy for him to solve it. In the worst-case scenario, they might have to abandon the city.

At the same time, in Gongzhou City, Pei Yijun underwent surgery in the Mountain Base. The surgery had been ongoing for more than eight hours.

Inside the operating room, the lead doctor pulled out a small chip from Pei Yijun’s nape. As soon as the chip was taken out, a nurse stored it in a glass container and sealed it.

After the chip was removed, they needed to restore the damage caused by it. The surgery lasted for another ten hours before the light was turned off and the doctors came out.

Seeing them, Li Jing, Li Yang, and Chu Zhimiao stood up and walked over.

"Cousin, how is Brother Pei?" Chu Zhimiao asked.

Ye Wuchen glanced at them for a moment before he said, "The surgery was successful, and the chip was removed. But we still have to observe him for a few days before he can be transferred to the ward."

Hearing his words, they heaved a sigh of relief.

"Thank you, Cousin. Fortunately, you are here. Otherwise, we wouldn’t know what to do," Chu Zhimiao said.

"This chip is very strange. When I removed it, it seemed to be alive and tried to escape. It’s better to destroy it as soon as possible," Ye Wuchen reminded them.

After the apocalypse, he had witnessed a lot of strange things, so he was calm when seeing the chip planted in Pei Yijun’s body.

"Brother Ye, I will take care of this matter. You should go back and have some rest," Li Yang nodded.

"Okay. Call me if anything happens," Ye Wuchen said before he left with his team.

An hour later, Pei Yijun was transferred to the ICU. With the doctors and nurses taking care of him, Li Yang, Li Jing, and Chu Zhimiao could feel at ease and focus on their work.

Due to the heavy snowfall, the entire area around the Mountain Base was buried under a thick layer of snow. To avoid sudden attacks from mutants, they closed their gates, and the entire base was under military law.

Although the survivors were not allowed to leave their homes, they were provided with water and food, so aside from some complaints, the situation was relatively under control.

Two days later, several military choppers arrived at the Lunar Base.

At first, Lustin Volkov thought it was the Silver Snake Team sent by the Commander of the Lin’an City Base. But when he saw the people who came out of the choppers, his eyes widened in surprise.

"Granduncle!"

Hearing the familiar voice, Erast Tolstoy’s eyes brightened. He walked over in large strides. Despite his old age, he was still as steady as when he was young. His tall and well-built figure made him look like someone in his forties.

"Lustin, how have you been?" he asked as he held his grandnephew’s arms.

"I’m doing well," Lustin Volkov replied, then added, "Granduncle, let’s go inside first and talk."

"Alright."

While he led Erast Tolstoy and his entourage inside, Kayla and Andrei Stroganova exchanged glances before going to arrange the people brought from the capital.

It had been years since the brother and sister last met, but they often communicated, so there wasn’t much they wanted to say to each other.

At this moment, their priorities were to settle the people brought by Erast Tolstoy and discuss how to deal with Borislav Morozov’s schemes.

Not long after, several military choppers bearing the Lin’an City Base’s emblem flew toward the Lunar Base. When the guards saw the emblem, they quickly informed their Vice Commander.

By the time Chen Qianxiao and his team landed, a group of soldiers was already waiting for them.
