Chapter 801: New Categorization ( 12 )

Hearing Fu Zhengde’s words, Xun Che was curious. "Oh? I wonder what method she used and whether it’s reliable."

This time, Fu Zhengde shook his head and replied, "I asked her, and she told me that if we didn’t trust her, then we could just do the test ourselves."

"Even with all of our staff working overtime, it would still take more than 3 years to test all the blood samples. Since she had said so, I didn’t continue asking."

Xun Che thought for a while and said, "In that case, just let her do it her way."

After they discussed the progress, they continued discussing the data before finally reaching an agreement.

Soon after Fu Zhengde left the office, Xun Che made a phone call and said, "Inform all the Vice Commanders and Department Heads to attend a meeting in 1 hour."

"Understood," his secretary replied.

An hour later, Xun Che entered the meeting room. He glanced at the long table and saw that everyone was present.

Seeing him walk in, everyone stood up, saluted, and greeted him in unison, "Commander."

He stood at the head of the table, returned their salute, took his seat, and said, "Everyone, have a seat, please."

After everyone took their seats, 2 secretaries distributed folders to everyone before taking their seats behind Xun Che.

Everyone opened the folders and read the reports for a while before Xun Che said, "Everyone, today’s meeting is to discuss the categorization of new races and also to adjust our ranking and grading system."

He gestured to Fu Zhengde and said, "Professor Fu, you can start your report."

Nodding at him, Fu Zhengde stood up, walked to the end of the table, and said, "Everyone, this is the research data taken from the Capital Base."

The next second, several reports were projected onto the wall beside him.

He pointed at several areas on the reports and continued, "From this, we can see that the mutation of the test subjects in this report had reached 80%, but it was not yet finished. Unfortunately, the test subjects died before the mutation was complete."

After he said this, one of the higher-ups couldn’t help but ask with a frown, "Professor Fu, you said these reports were taken from the Capital Base."

"From what we know, the Capital Base fell not long after the apocalypse. If they were conducting human experiments back then, there was no way no one was unaware of it."

Hearing this, Wen Hanli said, "This data was given by the Phantom Team’s member, Professor Mo Junjie. There is no need to doubt its authenticity."

When everyone heard this, they nodded in understanding. If it was from the Phantom Team, then it made sense. After all, they were the ones who rescued the survivors from the Capital when it was surrounded by zombies.

Fu Zhengde nodded and added, "It’s as Vice Commander Wen said. Back then, it was Commander Wen Hao who ordered Professor Wen Bo to conduct the human experiments in the underground laboratory."

"They used the survivors as the test subjects. The failed test subjects were either turned into zombies or died during the process. So, there were no traces left."

"Based on the dates recorded in the research data, they had been conducting human experiments for 2 years before the apocalypse. The data we are showing today was their latest report before the Capital Base was destroyed by zombies."

The moment everyone heard this, their expressions changed instantly.

While there might be the possibility that only several people were involved in this research, based on the research data alone, the central government must have known about the source of the zombie virus.

They were always confused and full of doubts regarding the cause of the Capital’s fall. For the Capital to be the first to fall didn’t make sense at all. No matter what, it was the place where the central power was located.

The military power alone was enough to withstand the onslaught of zombie hordes. Not to mention that the strength of the zombies when they first emerged was weak.

During that time, it was feasible to kill zombies using guns. Even without guns, the soldiers were trained, and they were still able to fight zombies using a blade, dagger, or even a broomstick.

Now that they knew of the central government’s involvement, they no longer needed to guess that the central government had been colluding with the Light of Dawn Organization.

Reaching this conclusion, the question left was, where did the soldiers and those weapons go?

It was impossible for millions of soldiers to be wiped out by level-zero zombies.

Noticing that everyone was out of focus, Fu Zhengde coughed. His cough pulled everyone’s attention back instantly.

"Everyone, we can discuss other matters later. Right now, we should focus on this case first."

After a moment of pause, he continued, "These are the reports of Feng Xiu and Rong Mo’er’s blood samples. This, this, and this areas show similarities to the reports from the Capital Base."

"Based on this, we conducted DNA tests, and the results showed that their DNA had mutated, and the process had reached 100%."

As soon as he finished his words, the meeting room broke into a commotion. Everyone was surprised by the results and discussed them in low voices.

After a while, one of them asked, "Commander, is this the reason why you ordered a base-wide medical checkup?"

Xun Che nodded and replied, "As DNA mutates, there will be symptoms. Using this, we managed to locate a total of 87 ability-users and 357 ordinary people with mutated DNA. Out of them, only 1 has completed the mutation process."

When he finished speaking, he glanced at Feng He and added, "It’s Chief Feng’s youngest son, Feng Zhen."

This time, not only was everyone shocked, but even Feng He was stunned. He never expected his youngest son to be a mutant.

While everyone was still unable to believe that so many mutants were residing in their base, Fu Zhengde continued, "Everyone, there is no need to be worried or anxious."
