Chapter 130 Part 2 – Not A Dream (II)
Tong Yi took the glass from her hand and set it on the table. Then, interlacing their fingers, he whispered in her ear, “Jiang Xiao Li, the girl I like is you. It’s always been you. You must not ignore me.”
Tong Yi’s actions didn’t just shock Jiang Li—they stunned everyone in the KTV room. The people who had been singing or playing games all stopped and turned to look in their direction.
When Jiang Li returned with a glass of water for Tong Yi, some people had already noticed. It was clear that Tong Yi was someone special to her, but no one expected Tong Yi to be this bold.
And that wasn’t even the most shocking thing.
The real surprise was: Jiang Li didn’t get mad!
Several boys who had been secretly crushing on Jiang Li felt a pang of bitterness in their hearts.
They had previously thought Jiang Li and Tong Yi were already dating, so they didn’t pursue her. When they found out tonight that they weren’t actually a couple, they’d thought maybe they had a chance.
But now it was clear—even if they weren’t together yet, it was only a matter of time!
After whispering those words to Jiang Li, Tong Yi fell asleep. Jiang Li sat frozen in his arms for quite a while before finally managing to pull herself free.
Faced with a room full of stunned, curious eyes, she felt embarrassed for the first time. She pointed at Tong Yi and explained, “He’s probably drunk.”
Wang Simin immediately nodded. “Definitely drunk. Otherwise, he’d never dare kiss your forehead.”
Jiang Li: …
‘No need to repeat everything Tong Yi just did, thank you.’
Wen Wan walked up to Jiang Li and whispered, “Should we wake him up?”
Jiang Li glanced down at the several empty glasses on the table and shook her head. “No need to wake him. Let’s just keep playing. If anyone wants to stay up all night, go ahead. If not, you can rest in the rooms I booked earlier.”
As soon as she said that, someone responded enthusiastically, “We finally get to relax for once—let’s party all night! Tomorrow’s Sunday and there are no exams, so we should go all out!”
Finals season was approaching, and universities had begun scheduling exams. But college exams were spaced out over nearly a week, and weekends were typically free for resting or studying. Most of the people at Jiang Li’s birthday party were top students and didn’t need to worry about failing, so they could enjoy themselves without stress.
The majority decided to stay up all night, but a few felt too tired and opted to rest. The group kept singing and playing games. Jiang Li joined them for a while but eventually began to feel sleepy and decided to head to the room she had booked earlier.
She glanced at Tong Yi, who was fast asleep, and pondered for a bit before she called over Lin Zhao and Qin Zheng, asking them to help carry this sleeping drunkard back to the room.
Tong Yi had been in a dazed sleep, but the moment the two guys touched him, his eyes shot open. The flashing lights were too bright, so he squinted in discomfort. Seeing the two familiar faces, he asked in confusion, “What are you guys doing?”
Lin Zhao explained, “You’re drunk. We’re taking you to a room to sleep.”
Tong Yi frowned. “Who said I’m drunk? I’m completely sober right now.”
Qin Zheng replied with a smirk, “Honestly, I think it’s safer if you just admit you’re drunk. Otherwise, you might get beaten up.”
Tong Yi scoffed, “What, are you gonna fight me?”
Qin Zheng shook his head and pointed in Jiang Li’s direction. “The one who wants to fight you is over there.”
Seeing Jiang Xiao Li staring at him with a blank expression, Tong Yi instantly lost all his bluster. “Y-you are back? That was fast…”
Jiang Li narrowed her eyes dangerously. “Don’t tell me you’ve conveniently developed amnesia and forgotten everything that happened tonight.”
Tong Yi froze, then looked awkward, but he quickly forced himself to stay calm. “Nope, didn’t forget. You just didn’t agree to my terms, so I didn’t answer the question.”
When Jiang Li didn’t reply, he stood up and moved closer. “If you still want to know the answer, all you have to do is agree to my conditions, and I’ll tell you anytime.”
Jiang Li never expected Tong Yi to play dumb. But with so many people in the room, did he really think he could bluff his way out?
She took a deep breath and smiled. “You can go back to your room and sleep now. I’ll deal with you tomorrow.”
Tong Yi felt her smile was a little ominous. Still, the fact that she wasn’t ignoring or avoiding him already exceeded his expectations.
Just as he was about to say something more, Qin Zheng grabbed his arm. “I think you need sleep. Let’s go.”
Lin Zhao grabbed his other arm. “I’m getting sleepy too. Let’s head back together.”
Then he said to Wen Wan. “Wanwan, go rest with Jiang Li later, okay? Staying up late is bad for your health.”
Wen Wan nodded immediately, then linked arms with Jiang Li. “You two better get him to bed. He drank quite a bit—probably not thinking clearly.”
She figured Tong Yi had likely blacked out from drinking and didn’t remember what he’d done to Jiang Li. That was the only explanation that made sense. The best move now was for Lin Zhao to take him to rest and help him recall what happened, so he could decide how to explain things to Jiang Li tomorrow.
Tong Yi frowned slightly. Everyone around him was acting strangely, but his instincts told him the smartest choice right now was to go back to the room. Otherwise, things might get worse.
He didn’t really feel the need for company, but with Jiang Xiao Li’s odd behavior, he needed to take these two with him and ask what exactly had happened!
Once the three of them got to the room, Tong Yi had no trace of sleepiness. Seeing Lin Zhao and Qin Zheng both giving him strange looks, he asked them, “Why are you looking at me like that?”
Qin Zheng gave him a thumbs-up. “Honestly, I kinda admire you.”
Tong Yi raised an eyebrow. “Care to speak normally?”
Qin Zheng clicked his tongue. “I mean it. You’re not just mentally strong—your acting skills are top-tier. Most people couldn’t pull off what you did.”
Tong Yi sighed. “How much did you drink?”
What the hell is this guy talking about?!
Lin Zhao stared at him and asked, “Don’t tell me you really blacked out?”
Tong Yi shook his head. “No. I hold my alcohol pretty well. Just need a quick nap and I’m good.”
“Then do you remember kissing Jiang Li in the KTV room just now?”
Tong Yi: “…”
‘Kissing… kissing who?!’
‘Wasn’t that… just a dream?’
Seeing his bewildered face, Qin Zheng helpfully added, “On the forehead.”
Tong Yi: “…”
‘So it really wasn’t a dream?!’
Clinging to the last bit of denial, he looked at the two of them and argued, “If I really did something like that, Jiang Xiao Li would’ve already hit me, right?”
Lin Zhao frowned. “I thought it was weird, too. Not only did she bring you warm water, but she didn’t even get mad when you kissed her. That’s really not like her.”
Tong Yi: “…”
Warm water.
So everything that happened just now… wasn’t a dream at all.
