Chapter 1955: Finally Picking a new Class (3)
Chapter 1955: Finally Picking a new Class (3)
Tang Shaoyang was now more interested in Spirit Beast class even though it overlapped with his Spirit Contractor. He did not really want to explore further with how extensive the original list was. But then he recalled his early goodbye to his daughter.
The reason he picked the class carefully was for the inevitable battle against the Nirvana Alliance and the God Order. It was to protect his empire, keep the peace for his daughter so she could grow in an ideal environment, and ensure no faction would dare to challenge his empire ever again.
He could not just pick whatever was convenient, but something that would make him even stronger. Especially when he had the privilege to choose a class where many had to pick whatever was given to them. He must appreciate the chance and use this chance to the full advantage.
’Don’t let arrogance take over you, Tang Shaoyang!’
Tang Shaoyang reminded himself. The fight had been too easy lately, especially when he won against an Emperor from the Void Cult. Even though Thomas Lysvand was one the most wanted enemies in the God Realm, it didn’t mean no one was stronger than him. The reason the Void Cult existed until today was because they were hiding inside the Void Realm, not because they were strong. The strong did not need to hide, just like those people from the Dragon Realm, the Ancient Kingdom, or even the Nirvana Alliance.
The Nirvana Alliance openly hunted people with the Spirit Contractor class, yet they remained steady and held their ground. No one openly challenged them or tried to get rid of them despite their arbitrary action. It was because they were strong and had the power to back up their cause.
He needed a power similar to the Nirvana Alliance, so no one would be stupid enough to go against him. Destroying the Nirvana Alliance and the God Order was not just to get the threat over his empire, but to show the God Realm that the Tang Empire was not a force to be challenged.
"Can you help me sort out a class that will increase my stats and also sort it by a class that I can get as a reward, Adam?"
[I am on it, Sir!]
Honestly, Tang Shaoyang was surprised that Adam was willing to help him out. When he first asked Adam, he expected the AI to decline his request. But Adam followed his request and helped, and he did not want to correct Adam since it was helping him out.
There were a lot of classes that gave him stats, more than five hundred classes. It was still too much for him, and he might not have had the time to look at it one by one since he would leave for the mission that day.
"Can you sort it further with a class with a skill that increases my stats based on percentage instead of a fixed number?" He tried to narrow the list down further.
[Unfortunately, I can’t help you with that, sir. I can only help you with the information that’s available to the public. The detail of skill is part of the System’s secret, and I can’t help with the request, sir.]
Tang Shaoyang let out a long sigh. The reason was not because he did not want to read them one by one, but because of how little explanation about the class discouraged him from reading them all. Even if he read them all, he might not even know what the class did. The list of skills helped him a bit because he could interpret it together with his spirits who had the knowledge.
"Wait a minute..." He thought about the spirit and thought about something, "Can I share the list with you guys?"
He summoned Nikolas and tried to share the screen with the former commander, "Can you see it?"
Nikolas looked at the skill, then he looked at his master. He had the same sentiment as his master about reading something he could not understand, "I can see the list..." He almost said "I can’t see the list" but he could imagine what would come after him if his grandfather found out.
Tang Shaoyang immediately summoned more spirits, Karoen the Void Knight, Vandir the Death King, Avyn the Last Kankara’Xeo, Zara the Goddess of Death, Mathias & Gianni, Jovrick, Galeon the Archdemon, Orlean the Demon God, Radiance, and Maldros the Stormbringer. These were the spirits he trusted to pick a class for him.
Twelve people looked through more than five hundred classes. That should quicken the process.
"I want each of you to suggest to me three classes of your choice from this list! We will have another discussion to sort it further down after," Tang Shaoyang wanted to narrow it down to the top five.
Vandir raised his hand, "I have a suggestion. I think we should suggest the class we know instead. For example, I am going to suggest to you a class related to necromancy that fits what you are looking for."
Gianni nodded his head, "That’s a good suggestion since I don’t really know half of the class in the list, and I don’t think I will recommend the class that I don’t know anything too." He skimmed the list over, and he hadn’t heard the majority of it, but he was confident that these classes existed. This was one of the reasons why many people tried to join the Administrator.
They started the screening process, and Tang Shaoyang, while not knowing any classes on the list, found something familiar. A class with knights in the name, the berserker class archetype, the assassin class archetype. Since it was a class that helped him to increase his stats, most of the classes he knew related to the berserker class.
He started to get dizzy after reading more than one hundred classes and even started to forget what he read earlier. Two hours passed, and he sorted out his list into three classes. He found something similar to the Spirit Beast class, Spirit-Bound Warrior.
The difference between the two classes was the spirit type. Spirit-Bound Warrior could summon a spirit, but it was not limited to Spirit Beast. He could summon an elemental spirit or an ancestral spirit by offering a treasure. The drawback was that the contract was not permanent. He must keep offering the treasure if he wants to continue the contract.
Then he had an interesting class, a similar class to a berserker, but he was unsure if it was a berserker class archetype or not, Juggernaut. He picked Juggernaut in his choice because of the two skills part of Juggernaut, Death Harvest and Absolute Resistance. He guessed Death Harvest was the skill that increased his skill, and the word Absolute drew him in.
The third one was the Spirit Beast as this class was the safest choice since he knew what it did and what it was capable of. If someone with this class could elevate a faction status in the God Realm, it should be a good class. That was his reasoning for picking this one as his third choice, not because he did not read the remaining three hundred classes in the list.
The eleven spirits gathered and started to throw out their suggestions and also the reason why they chose the class. They fell into a heated discussion because they had to narrow down more than twenty classes into five classes. Just more than twenty because a few of them picked the same class.
Avyn only picked two classes for him, and both classes were Juggernaut and Spirit Beast. When she found out Tang Shaoyang also picked Juggernaut and Spirit Beast as his choice, she immediately told Tang Shaoyang to pick Juggernaut.
Avyn or to be more exact her ancestor encountered someone with Juggernaut class. The class was not good for a duel, but it was an extremely powerful class in a big war. The Death Harvest increased stats based on how many beings they killed. It included undead, demon, beast, or any other monsters. The increase was temporary, and that was why the class was powerful in a large-scale battle.
The reason she highly recommended the class was because of the synergy with his Spirit Contractor class. His spirit skills were considered as his skills, and it had been proven on the 22nd floor for their mercenary contract. It meant Death Harvest would be affected by his spirit’s kills.
Tang Shaoyang almost picked the class, but he respected his spirits and listened to their choices to the end. He could not just ignore them after going through such a tedious process to pick him for a class. They almost scrapped all of Vandir’s suggestions because his suggestion was related to the necromancy ritual.
But they ended up considering one of Vandir’s suggestions, Dark Lord. It had a skill that increased his stats for each undead who died in the battle. Vandir argued that he could summon an undead with souls through Necromastery, so he did not use the sacrifice for spirit summonings. After an hour of discussion, they came up with five classes.
Spirit Beast, Juggernaut, Dark Lord, Divine Lord, and Oath-Bound Knight.
