Chapter 562: Question-2
Chapter 562: Question-2
Asher finally raised his head as he spoke, "if you tell me how long you’ve been watching and how you found me, I will tell you," Asher stated with weak breathing, as that was what he truly wanted to know. He needed to know if Debro had heard and seen everything, every movement, every action, and every move he may have made.
Debro stared at Asher for a moment, then burst out laughing as though Asher couldn’t understand his own position and state, his laughter echoing within the chamber with mocking amusement. He couldn’t understand how Asher, who was in this helpless and restrained state, was trying to strike a deal with him as though he still held any form of leverage.
"If it wasn’t because of your handsome face, I would have taken a limb for such arrogance," he stated as he stared at Asher with a twisted smile, "but if I take your limb, how will I get to spread them," he stated with a sigh as he rose from his squatting position, he turned and walked back to his table where he sat once again, his movements calm and unhurried as though nothing here could possibly threaten him.
Asher couldn’t help but frown as his mind involuntarily imagined the disturbing scenario, a cold chill ran down his spine, and an involuntary sense of disgust surfaced within him despite his efforts to remain emotionally detached.
"Honestly, your ability is very good, it allows you to become invisible without a single fluctuation in Astra energy, no wonder I couldn’t sense you," Debro began to speak with analytical interest, "but it seems you have shitty luck, kid," he paused for a moment before he continued, "I only saw you when I stepped out for my smoke break and fresh air, after all, staying within a single room for weeks without leaving can be quite boring and suffocating, imagine my surprise when I suddenly saw my last guard die and the corpse suddenly vanish, then someone suddenly becoming visible," as he spoke, he took out a cigarette from his space ring and lit it with casual familiarity, taking a slow puff, he exhaled the smoke calmly as he stared at Asher with narrowed eyes.
Asher’s lips couldn’t help but twitch uncontrollably, he didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. His meticulous plan, one he had carefully constructed and executed with precision, had been completely ruined because the man sitting before him had decided to take a smoke break and enjoy the fresh breeze. Asher couldn’t help but question whether he truly possessed terrible luck, after all, the reason behind his capture seemed entirely stupid, absurd, and deeply frustrating.
He wasn’t caught through some extraordinary perceptive ability or overwhelming sensory power, but through sheer, ridiculous bad luck. Asher couldn’t help but sigh helplessly to himself, feeling both disbelief and quiet frustration at the absurdity of it all.
’So he only saw me when I killed the last outer guard, that’s good,’ Asher thought to himself calmly, and at the same time, it made perfect sense, if the man had seen him from the very beginning, or when he was in the middle of wiping out everyone outside the facility, the man would have intervened immediately without hesitation.
After all, why would he willingly allow all his guards to be slaughtered, although they were nothing more than ants compared to his overwhelming power, they still served their purpose and held value as tools.
’Also, he thinks my invisibility is my awakened ability, well, it’s understandable since I never used Astra energy to begin with in the first place,’ Asher thought to himself with a subtle nod as he carefully processed the information he had just obtained, storing every detail for future use.
At the same time, he couldn’t help but sigh internally at how foolish and stupid this man truly was, because of his twisted desires and uncontrolled fantasies, the man had willingly answered the question he had been asked without realizing the implications of his own carelessness.
’System, it isn’t too late to increase my luck stat, right?’ Asher mentally communicated to the system with a hint of dry sarcasm and resignation.
[The system advises the Host to look for a luck-based artifact instead. With the Host’s current luck, the system won’t be surprised if the Host slips on a banana peel and dies]
Asher stared at the system text and couldn’t help but shake his head slightly, the system seemed to be becoming increasingly sarcastic and blunt as time passed, its responses carrying a tone that felt almost human in its mockery.
"I got the information about this place from a Seer friend of mine," Asher spoke, his voice weak and strained, his breathing slow and controlled as he maintained his fragile composure.
Hearing this, Debro paused for a moment, his expression shifting slightly, people with seer-like abilities were rare but certainly not nonexistent, their existence always posed potential risks.
"Does he or anyone else know you came here?" He asked, his tone calm but sharp, his eyes narrowing slightly with suspicion.
"No, I only told him I was going to sell the information to the Adventurer Guild, as he advised me not to take the mission," Asher answered weakly with visible effort, maintaining the appearance of vulnerability.
Debro stared at Asher for a moment as though trying to determine whether Asher had actually sold the information to the Adventurer Guild, his mind analyzing the situation carefully, but the next moment he dismissed the thought entirely, after all, why would Asher sell the information and still come here himself, it simply didn’t make logical sense from his perspective.
"I will be needing the name of this your so-called friend," he stated as he continued to smoke calmly, his tone carrying quiet authority. Asher didn’t need to ask to know that Debro intended to eliminate the so-called Seer to secure his secrecy.
Asher frowned as though hesitating, his expression shifting with calculated reluctance, after a moment, he gave Debro his name from his past life on Earth, Ethan, if someone here on Crymora actually went by that name, then Asher could only silently pray for their safety.
"You see, now that wasn’t so hard to do, see how we got done with it in just a couple of minutes," Debro spoke as he got off his table, he threw his cigarette to the side carelessly as he approached Asher with a satisfied smile. Approaching Asher, he took off the chains, but the moment Asher felt his Astra energy begin to return, Debro immediately sealed it again with two bracelets, one placed firmly on each wrist, completely suppressing his energy once more.
The next moment, Debro began taking off his clothes slowly, his movements deliberate and filled with disturbing anticipation, "as promised, I will spare you, and you will make a fine addition to my harem," he spoke with clear glee and excitement, and Asher couldn’t help but stare in pure horror, his purple eyes widening slightly as the full weight of the situation became undeniable.
