Chapter 3640: Lindiho’s Emotions
Chapter 3640: Lindiho’s Emotions
"Hahaha!" Rean laughed. Still, he was curious. "Anyway, how did you survive? I thought one of those Red Hibiscus was your opponent."
"Uh?" Elsie got confused. "What are you talking about? No, before that. Give me some time. I’m almost breaking apart here."
"Oh! I’ll give you a hand," Rean touched her core, using his Instant Recovery skill. It wasn’t as effective when used on something like a Spirit Core, but it could get the job done. Elsie could also recover on her own, obviously. It’s just that she would definitely take much, much longer.
Elsie recovered after a few minutes, although she was pretty much empty of Divine Energy. She took several Divine Stones out, starting to recover her reserves as well. "Thank you for the help. Alright, what was it you were talking about?"
Rean then used his Divine Sense to explain everything.
"They can control the arena?!" Elsie was taken aback.
"Not entirely," Rean added. "They still had to fight and win, but they at least could decide who would be their opponents."
"I see..." Elsie couldn’t help but feel worried. "I wonder how my master is doing."
"Now that I think about it," Kentucky joined the conversation, "you and your master have some way of telling if the other is alive and even where you are, right? You did manage to guide us where your master was back then, after all."
"Yes," Elsie nodded. "We do have this kind of connection. He is definitely alive, but since he isn’t out yet..."
Rean and the others thought about it. "Shouldn’t he be in a weakened state? It’s surprising he is resisting for this long."
"Well, he was the one who guided me about Weapon Intent, after all," Elsie commented. "Master can make an Intent Weapon that is 95% Intent and only 5% Divine Energy. Before I met you freaks, Master was the best Weapon Intent user I had ever seen."
"Right... what kind of weapon does he use? We haven’t seen him using his weapon intent at all since he joined us." Rean asked, curious.
"Same as me," Elsie didn’t hide it. "He also goes for Sickles. It makes sense, right? Since he was the one who taught me how to use them."
"True..." Rean nodded. "By the way, Elsie. You still haven’t answered. Did you or did you not meet a Red Glittering Hibiscus in your arena?"
"I did not," Elsie shook her head. "The one I met was indeed the enemy I considered the strongest in my memories, and he was truly strong." She shouted right after to the skies. "Fuck you, Castrol! Even in death, you are a fucking thorn in my soul!"
Only then did she continue her explanation. "Fortunately, he was someone I knew from the past, and I knew his weakness. I almost died to him, though. That fake was even better at making up for his flaw, so landing a decisive hit was really hard. I won’t lie. There was a lot of luck involved. I was at the end of my Divine Energy reserves, so I went for a kill-or-be-killed move. That’s why my core was all cracked just now. That was close..."
Roan looked at the bodies of the dead Hibiscuses. "We know nine of them died, and for some reason, none of them selected you as an opponent. In that case, this tenth Hibiscus selected someone else, but who?"
"That reminds me of one thing," Celis turned to Elsie. "Say... that Earth Shell Manifestation of your race. You said that once you cancel that ability, you will suffer a loss of power for several years, right?"
"Yes," Elsie confirmed, "around ten years or so usually."
"Still," Celis asked what was in his mind, "can you use that Earth Shell Manifestation straight away even if you are weakened?"
"No," Elsie quickly answered. "If that was possible, we would be pretty much unkillable, wouldn’t we? I don’t think the laws of the Universe would allow such a ridiculous ability to have no recovery time."
"Oh, then that’s fine," Celis nodded. "I just thought that perhaps your master was forced to use it again, and since his opponent couldn’t kill him, they would both be trapped inside the arena all the way until the Golden Palace closed."
"I could totally see that happening," Elsie spoke with a bitter smile. "However, he definitely can’t use the Earth Shell Manifestation. I’m certain of it. Unless he has found some method to ignore that recovery time, but I don’t think it is possible."
Suddenly, the twins’ group looked in another direction, and they prepared their weapons. Another expert was about to exit the arena.
It wasn’t a Red Glittering Hibiscus, though. Instead, it was Lindiho, the very same expert who told them about how the arena worked. He, just like all the others before him, looked pretty badly injured, and he had almost no Divine Energy Reserves left.
He raised his guard for a moment, just to see that what he found on the other side wasn’t the Hibiscuses but the twins’ group, Cafantrie, and Werkel. Of course, he quickly found the Hibiscuses’ bodies not far from them.
"Hehe... Hahahaha!" Lindiho laughed hysterically, approaching the bodies of those dead Hibiscuses and stomping them several times. "Fuck you, Red Garden! You thought you would have an easy time with me? Now look at your little piece of shit group! You are all dead, and I, Lindiho, killed one of you! Who said no one from Universe F949 dares to kill a Red Glittering Hibiscus? I just did! Hahaha!"
Werkel, Cafantrie, Rean, Roan, and everyone else looked at that with weird expressions. "Errr... Are you alright, Lindiho? Shouldn’t you focus on healing yourself first?"
Lindiho finally calmed down, took three different pills from his Spatial Ring, swallowed them, and sat down. He was indeed quite beaten up, but he seemed very satisfied. "Sorry, sorry... It’s just that I’ve been holding back some grudge for quite some time. Anyway, you won’t believe what happened when I entered the arena on another plane."
"You met one of the Red Glittering Hibiscus," Werkel commented.
"Eh?!" Lindiho shot a surprised expression to Werkel. "How did you know?"
"The same happened to most of us here, not to mention you said it yourself just now," Werkel explained.
Everyone looked at each other. The Red Garden Hibiscuses were ten in total, and with the one Lindiho killed, all ten of them were dead. From now on, those who appear will have faced the normal arena. As to whether it was a good thing or not, no one knows.
