Chapter 3743: This I can work with
One of Wergal’s subordinates received that call at the same time that Rean reappeared on Wergal’s back. Roan was still there, his scythes slightly prickling the poor Black Cetus’ neck. It felt like Roan was holding himself back and wanted nothing more than to finish the job right there.
"W-Wergal, it’s Puorton-Le!" He approached Wergal, but did so slowly, afraid Roan would finish Wergal in the next instant.
Then, Ploto-Ume’s image appeared. "Roan, I’m sorry for what happened. I was unaware of what my wife did, and I’m ordering them now to stop this attempt to kill you and your friends. Wergal, fall bac- Uh? I thought you were captured by the Black Cetuses, not the other way around..."
"What fall back?" Rean didn’t want that. "Wergal, we still need those formations. Say, is this one under the ocean really the most intact one? Or did you bring me here because this would be the best place to kill me since your race is aquatic?"
Roan’s Scythes suddenly disappeared, allowing Wergal to move away. Wergal quickly took the tablet from his companion, talking to Ploto. "Puorton-Le, what the hell was all this? I followed Ratria’s orders, and yet, she put me in the hands of some freaks of nature! Was she trying to kill me?"
"Eh?" Ploto-Ume was puzzled. "Now that I think about it, how did a Space-Time Realm manage to capture someone at your level?"
"Space-Time Realm?" Wergal found it ridiculous. "Ha! Their cultivations couldn’t be more misleading. That black-haired guy can use two Major Laws! I don’t know how, but he has definitely comprehended all his laws! Is the cultivation he is showing really real? I also doubt that! And his Speed, Strength, and Sixth Stage Weapon Intent... Even his Energy was different from normal Divine Energy, so much stronger. This guy is a monster!"
Roan glanced at him. "Part of the reason I was able to take you was because you underestimated how much strength I could muster with my cultivation. You tried to defend against my attack, even though you could have retreated when you noticed me. Truth be told, due to my lower cultivation, we would be more or less equal in a serious combat."
Wergal wanted to deny that, but he knew it was true... if Roan’s cultivation was indeed that. "What did you expect? Even the Ermmel Clan definitely doesn’t have a monster like you! No, your brother is also just as ridiculous! That’s why I didn’t take you that seriously, but I’m definitely not committing the same mistake twice!"
"Stop!" Yet, Ploto-Ume didn’t allow that to continue. "This fight shouldn’t have happened in the first place. Wergal, come back."
"Are you ordering me?" Wergal glared at Ploto-Ume. It was still a fact that his race had more authority in the Demon Beasts’ Territories.
Ploto-Ume shook his head, though. "You and I both know I don’t have what it takes to order you or your race around. None of the demon beasts in this plan has it. It’s because we are working together that we have this chance, so no, I’m not ordering you. I’m asking you, please let this go. Ratria shouldn’t have asked you such a thing in the first place. Once you are back, I’ll give you a full explanation."
Wergal calmed down a little, seeing that Ploto-Ume was being a lot more compromising than normal. For Demon Beasts, that was a big thing. "Fine! What about these two?"
"Just answer Rean’s question and do what I initially asked you. Bring them to the most intact Great Void Shifter Formation. Let Rean analyze as much as he wants. This part wasn’t a lie. We truly have a lot to gain from this."
The Black Cetuses looked at each other. In the end, they decided to drop the matter. They didn’t even want to be doing this in the first place anyway. "Very well. Gango, the actual best formation is the one on Jitrufes Continent. Bring them there. I’m going back to the floating land to see what all this shit is about."
Gango, one of the Black Cetuses, nodded. "Alright. Make sure to tell me and the others later." He turned to Rean. "Come, follow me. No need for those cloaks anymore. They obviously are useless against you lot."
Rean smiled in response. "Great!" And so, he left with Gango. Roan and Celis returned to the Celestial Soul Dimensional Realm.

Back in the floating land, Kentucky appreciated his father’s quick action. "Thanks, Dad."
"Ah!" Ratria almost exploded. "You can’t do it! Why call him dad and refuse to call me mom?!"
Ploto, Frife, and Kentucky looked at her at the same time. "Do you actually need to ask?!" Even Frife and Ploto felt quite disappointed with her.
"I..." Ratria had no words. In the end, only tears remained. "I only did it for my baby... We have been separated for so long, and the thought of having you taken away just as we met again..."
"You are lucky," Kentucky wasn’t moved by that. "It’s because of my relation with you that Rean and Roan did only that much."
It wasn’t like he didn’t believe Ratria’s tears. It’s just that her actions wiped out any goodwill from him at that moment. "Had Rean and Roan not held back, you wouldn’t have just got a reprimand from us. I’ll be straight with you. If those two had taken it seriously, there wouldn’t be a single Black Cetus remaining alive in that place. The only one there that could put fight on equal terms to Rean or Roan was Wergal. The others weren’t weak, but they were definitely lacking compared to those two. There was also Celis."
At the same time, Kentucky thought to himself, ’If Rean and Roan had merged together... now, even Wergal would have been powerless.’ He didn’t mention that, of course.
Ploto and Frife still felt like it didn’t make sense. "You must have used some trick, right? How could they be that strong at their cultivation level?"
"Let’s just say we had plenty of fortune both back in the Lisan Universe and here in the Werdlem Empire," Kentucky finished with those words, not really explaining anything.
Seeing that Kentucky wouldn’t explain, with reason, Ploto tried to plead for Ratria. "Everything ended well, didn’t it? Please forgive your mother. If one day you have kids, you will definitely understand her feelings. The thing about you leaving soon, I’m with her. I also don’t want you to go. Maybe even I would have come up with such an idea."
Frife-Ni tried the same. "If you are truly as good a ’big brother’ as you say you are, you will try to forgive her."
"Oh-ho..." Kentucky smiled at Frife-Ni. "Now this idea of being a Big Brother doesn’t seem too bad. Even you recognize it."
"Tch... don’t push your luck." Frife-Ni looked away. Had it not been for Ratria’s sake, he would never have said that.
"Sigh..." Kentucky scratched the back of his head. "Fine, I’ll let it go. But don’t expect me to suddenly fall all over her anytime soon."
Ratria nodded vigorously. "Yes, yes! I understand!"

Two days later, Rean arrived at the other Great Void Shifter Formation. Looking at its state, he couldn’t help but smile a little. "Now, this we can work with."
Tanxan and Zangeshu agreed, appearing by his side. "Let’s get to work."
