Chapter 4058: I Told You!
Chapter 4058: I Told You!
No one moved, which Zanbril already expected. He just stayed there in the middle of the air, doing nothing but waiting.
Why didn’t anyone try? Only five would make it through, right? Well, one of the reasons was the power allocated to the princesses. With the formation’s help, they had a power equivalent to a Space-Bending Realm Initial Stage expert. What was Zanbril’s cultivation? Elemental Space Realm Initial Stage! He was an entire realm above!
Not only that, but he was one of the heirs of the Zentian Empire. He definitely had the best teachers, resources, techniques, and even real Celestials helping him all the way up to this point. The fact that he was already at such a high cultivation level, given his age similar to the princesses’, proved it.
That said, he wasn’t just a single entire cultivation realm above; he would likely be stronger than any of the princesses, even if they were at the same level. If they attacked him first, wouldn’t they simply be asking to die first, too?
There was also the issue of cultivation energies. As Zanbril mentioned, the advisors would be using their energies to essentially ’purchase’ clean energy for their princesses. This meant that there was a limited amount of energy available. The formations prevented any Divine Energy from reaching the advisors, and, as Zanbril stated previously, they were prohibited from using any items or methods to recover their energy.
The princesses who only had a single advisor remaining felt even less inclined to make the first move. Since they only have one, the princesses with two would have twice as much energy to use. No, three of them have celestial realm experts as advisors, so they definitely had more than double what the rest with a single advisor do. There was no doubt a Celestial would have a higher energy pull, after all.
Thus, this situation arose, where no one wanted to make the first move for all those reasons... or so was what everyone expected at first.
Well, Kentucky’s thoughts were completely different. "So, land a hit first and pass the test, right? I love it when it is easy to understand! Go, Xixie! Attack!"
There was one thing those formations didn’t block: a normal voice! Everyone heard Kentucky’s words! Most thought he was trying to fool the rest, and others just thought he was an idiot.
As for Xixie, she almost vomited blood there. Attack? It sounded more like Kentucky was asking her to die instead!
Yet, Kentucky’s voice reached her mind through the sphere’s contact method, just like a Divine Sense Message would. ’Before you found out about my strength, you were already willing to risk your life and believed you had almost no chance of success. And yet, you went for it. Has it changed now?’
’B-But... back then, there was still a chance. What you are asking me has no chance of success at all! How can I possibly land a strike on him? The power difference is too great! We need to wait for an oppening!’ Xixie truly didn’t want to go, and who could blame her?
Too bad, though. Kentucky didn’t give a damn! A Divine Stone appeared on his hand, and everyone saw it. Kentucky simply didn’t absorb its energy... yet!
Then, a playful expression appeared on Kentucky’s face. ’The rule said you couldn’t absorb energy from any method, or else your princess would be disqualified and killed. Well, there is another way of using that rule. You have one second to go, or I will absorb this Divine Stone’s energy. That means instant death. So, are you willing to die without even trying, or are you going to attack?’
Xixie wanted to cry. Just a bit more than a second has passed since the test started, and she was already forced to risk it all! ’I’ll go! I’ll go!’
Xixie took flight and shot toward Zanbril.
Zanbril had a surprise expression, just like everyone else. They obviously knew Kentucky wasn’t absorbing that Divine Stone. Instead, he was threatening his princess! Was he in his right mind? Wasn’t he supposed to be there to help her?
"Hahaha! You guys are truly exciting!" Nonetheless, Zanbril very much wanted to see what Kentucky and Xixie were planning.
However, that didn’t mean he intended to hold back. The reason he put all the princesses a cultivation realm below was that they were in a big group. He was alone. So, if the princesses all attacked together, even he would find it hard to dodge everything. Some would definitely die, but he would get his five winners, too.
He wanted to see which princess would be the best at finding the right moment in the face of certain death, proof that his future wife wasn’t just all about her cultivation but actually had ability. He expected them to ally themselves before anything happened, and he said he wouldn’t make a move unless someone attacked him first.
Now, a single princess was all on her own, attacking him, and that’s because her advisor forced her hand with something that had an even higher chance of death than his own attack! How could he not be entertained?
Xixie arrived at Zanbril in an instant, a foil, the kind used in fencing, appearing on her hand. She just thrust forward, putting all her energy and element into the attack, hoping it would connect.
Zanbril, however, easily saw the trajectory, and with his higher cultivation, it became very easy to dodge and counterattack.
*Fraw!*
The thrust passed straight, hitting nothing, the energy and Xixie flying by Zanbril like a bullet. Zanbril, on the other hand, thrust his lance right at Xixie’s heart from below as she missed the target! It wasn’t even a competition...
An enormous hole appeared on Xixie’s chest as Zanbril’s spear intent, element, and energy passed through. It almost broke Xixie’s body into two halves! It was over as fast as it started...
Yet, little did he know Kentucky was guiding Xixie’s every move!
*Pah!*
Out of nowhere, the sound of a slap reverberated in all directions! Everyone looked over and saw a ridiculous scene! A bloodied handprint appeared on Zanbril’s face, which even he found hard to believe.
Xixie’s body then fell from the skies under everyone’s watch.
*Bang!*
Yet, the moment she began to fall, Kentucky broke out of the barrier, zapping by Xixie’s side even faster than he did in his battle against Drukovich. He seemed very happy. "Hahaha! See?! I told you it would work!"
Xixie wasn’t hearing, though. Her world went dark.
