Death… And Me

Chapter 4207: Victor

Chapter 4207: Victor

*Rumble!*

The moment the twins’ group crossed the channel, created with everyone’s help, things started to change in the Werdlem Empire.

The Empire’s Bubble, which required the presence of all twelve Primordial Demon Beasts, instantly lost its support. Once again, each of their Innate Abilities and Primordial Laws kept that thing running. It lost its stabilization ability with Tharos, its boundary settings with Hick, its time displacement with Xyrath, its gravity control with Hyeoumu’s body, so on and so forth...

The Bubble quickly began to crack, and the connection to the outside world, which had been cut for countless years, was reestablished. As mentioned before, there were a few powers who knew the Werdlem Empire existed in that location, and they obviously noticed when the Bubble began to come down.

It goes without saying that the news began to spread very fast.

Inside the Werdlem Empire, Soza and his people began to receive reports from everywhere about what was happening. One could imagine their expressions. It was actually even worse for Soza, Latifi, and Rafina. After all, they knew the Primordial Beasts weren’t only about the Bubble. They were also necessary to take control of The Echo.

Sure enough, Grotou contacted Soza a moment later, telling him what was happening in that place. -Senior Soza! The formation is collapsing!-

Soza calmed down. He was enraged, but he couldn’t vent his frustrations right now. He had other things to take care of. "I know. However, it is sturdy enough to last a while. I’ll get my people and follow the trail of this escape route the Primordial Beasts used. Perhaps we can still capture them somehow. Do whatever you can to slow down the break of the formation. As for the Bubble, we can work on it once we bring the Primordial Beasts back. We built it once, so we can build it again."

Yet, Soza didn’t expect what Grotou said next. -It... it won’t work...-

"Hum?" Soza narrowed his eyes. "Why? What is happening there?"

Grotou took a deep breath, looking outside the huge window in front of the control room. -Senior Soza... the tear in the space... it is closing...-

"WHAT?!" Soza was truly shocked this time. "How can it be closing?! It has been open for countless years, and we weren’t the ones who kept it open. It was just there for us to use. The Primordial Beasts’ presence was never necessary for it to stay open!"

-I agree,- Grotou said, still looking outside. -But there is no doubt. The tear is repairing itself. According to our readings, The Origin power is the thing fixing the tear. We can’t possibly stop The Origin.-

Let’s not forget the Empire calls it The Origin instead of The Echo.

"How long do we have?" Soza quickly asked. He already released his Celestial Suppressor Plate, and that made F974 throw him out into the Great Void again. That was the fastest way to get outside.

Kafuna, another one of the experts by the tear, spoke from there. -Senior Soza, at this rate, it will be closed in at most one hour, but it seems to be closing faster and faster.-

Soza, Latifi, and Rafina understood. "There is no way we can stop this..."

They were right. First of all, they would have to find where Lisan Universe is, and following the trail would definitely take a lot more than just one hour. That’s considering there was any trail left behind for real. They haven’t tested it yet.

Even if they did, they would need to capture all Twelve Pillars inside a Universe that likely couldn’t support anyone above the Divinity Realm other than its Universe Owner.

It wasn’t all. Let’s pretend that Soza and his Werdlem Empire’s forces could somehow go to Lisan and come back in less than one hour. Would the Primordial Demon Beasts be in Lisan when they arrived there? Forget the problem of capturing them. If even one of them was missing, it would all be for nothing. Once again, they needed all twelve.

-Wait! What is that?!- Suddenly, Grotou’s voice echoed from the other side of the CD.

That obviously caught Soza, Latifi, and Rafina’s attention. "What are you talking about? What is happening?"

Grotou immediately turned the CD to the window outside, allowing Soza’s group to see what was happening.

Just there, at the very center of the tear that was closing, there was a golden light. Soza obviously recognized that power. That was the Golden Light of experts who surpassed the Celestial Realm.

When the image approached, they were able to see the newcomer’s face, but no one in Soza’s group knew who it was at all. Well, they didn’t know, but if the Twins’ Group was here, they definitely would. It was Victor Rampel! The same guy who helped them back in F956 during the next Universe Owner selection in the Golden Palace!

Victor looked at that closing tear, a smile on his face as he murmured to himself. "They sure did a great job. For a moment, I thought I wouldn’t be able to close this gap anymore. They’d better give me a raise when I come back up there."

The most incredible thing was happening. Victor seemed completely aligned with the power of The Echo, even more than Default himself! He was the one closing the tear! From the looks of it, that has been his plan all this time. However, he couldn’t have done it before because of the Primordial Demon Beasts and the formation. Now, both were gone, and he made sure to not lose this chance.

Soza and everyone else watched as Victor closed the gap for good, and there was nothing they could do. Without any way to go back there, they simply couldn’t stop Victor.

Finally, the tear was closed down, and that would guarantee that the Werdlem Empire wouldn’t touch The Echo anymore. Victor nodded with a satisfying expression, ignoring the enormous formation collapsing around him. He turned back, looking directly at the window through which everyone was watching him. Then, he gave a light bow.

A moment later, he opened a Spatial Gate, but this one was different. Soza, Latifi, and Rafina recognized this one. This was the type of Spatial Gate that sent you to the Celestial Plane. It was the same one Litifi, Rafina, and Caladara used to come down as well. Without wasting any more time, Victor entered it and disappeared inside, the gate closing behind him a second later. He was gone.

Soza’s group looked at each other, their thoughts the same. "The Arbiters..."
