Death… And Me

Chapter 4208: A Message

Chapter 4208: A Message

Grotou was still speaking through the CD, but Soza ignored him, putting his CD away and not finishing the conversation. "The Arbiters found out in the end."

Latifi nodded. "Acquiring control over our Great Void would boost the Werdlem Empire by quite a lot in the Celestial Plane, after all. It wouldn’t be a dream to say that we might catch up to those dominant forces there who have done the same in their own Great Void homes. It makes sense they intervened. Still, how did the Arbiters find out about it?"

Rafina shook her head. "It matters not how they found out about it. The only thing that matters is that now we know who was behind all of this. What do we do now?"

"What else?" Soza looked away, his anger disappearing as only helplessness remained. "You two should go back up there and check it with the elders. I will coordinate our forces here so that the other powers don’t try to take this chance to cause trouble in the Empire. We might not have the Bubble or The Origin anymore, but we sure are still one of the top, if not the top power in our Great Void."

Rafina and Latifi nodded, and they didn’t waste time, making a cutting motion with their hands and opening Spatial Gates. Those Spatial Gates were the same ones they used to come down, and now they are returning to the Celestial Plane. "Since the Arbiters were involved, I don’t think you will be blamed too much."

"Yes," Soza understood. "Be careful to not try to bring anything from down here up there. You know what happens when trying to bring someone up without using the proper channels. Not even your Pocket Dimensional Realms will be able to hide it."

The two already knew that, quickly entering the Spatial Gates.

Seeing Latifi and Rafina disappearing, Soza didn’t move for a few minutes, only silence in his surroundings. Then, he shook his head and opened a Spatial Gate. Forget about running after the twins’ group; he would have many other problems to deal with for quite a while.

The Lisan Universe...

*Zush, zush, zush, zush, zush...*

Hundreds of Peak Stage Divinities appeared one after another. There were obviously experts like Dofrei and his disciples, who were Celestials. Cloe was there too. However, Hick’s boundaries were still in play, so they all had their cultivations suppressed to the Peak Stage of the Divinity Realm. The Lisan Universe would not throw them out due to that.

As for Coddin, the Silver Phoenix Celestial, Hick put a boundary around him before he finished traversing the tunnel, too.

Rean and Roan, obviously, had no need for such a thing. Surprisingly, even though Kentucky and Celis were also Peak Celestials, the Universe didn’t reject them. There was no doubt the Universe considered them as being somewhat Universe Owners due to their connection to Rean and Roan.

"We are back..." Rean said, looking at his surroundings, and especially feeling his connection to the Universe.

Roan nodded slightly, and he already could see Soul Gem and the others approaching. "Master."

Kafan faintly smiled. Roan’s body looked different, but there was no way Kafan wouldn’t recognize him. "You seem to have gained a little bit of strength while you were out."

Roan thought about it before speaking. "I’d rather not have left, though."

Rean looked around, but he couldn’t find who he wanted. "Did they-"

Soul Gem stopped him. "I obviously did not tell anyone else about what was happening here today. Your families, especially. Why would I involve them in something this dangerous? You were bound to annoy me for it later. So, I only brought those I knew would be trustworthy."

Rean and Roan saw Black Lotus there. Was an Elder Devil trustworthy? Maybe things changed a lot during the time they were out...

Soul Gem’s face turned to Default, and he quickly flew over, kneeling in midvoid. "Master, your disciple is happy to see you are finally free."

"Hahaha!" Default laughed out loud. "You did a great job, although the two hosts took me by surprise. Well, they did what had to be done, so it matters not. Perhaps things played out like this exactly because there were two of them."

"Ahem!" Kentucky appeared near Soul Gem. "I hope you haven’t forgotten that we all ended up in the Werdlem Empire because of you and Hyeoumu."

Rean approached as well. "Oh, that is so true! You sure kept us in the dark, didn’t you?"

Soul Gem bitterly smiled, scratching the back of his head. "Well... didn’t you only survive because we did this? Besides, you are now Peak Stage Celestials, four of you! It is hard to believe anyone will try anything against Lisan Universe anymore. It might have been harsh, but it wasn’t just for my master’s good, but also yours."

"Hmph!" Roan snorted, also joining the conversation. "You don’t really think you can escape that easily, do you? You have two choices: Be punished willingly, or be punished unwillingly. Both will hurt just the same, but the first option at least will create a tiny bit of goodwill from us."

Hick, who was also there, nodded vigorously. "Little Gem, trust me. The first option is the best option."

Hick didn’t give a damn about any of that. He just wanted, for once, to not be the only guy getting beaten for the things that happened.

Soul Gem turned to Default, who looked away. "My disciple, you did well, and this sure will prove to be a good experience for your future growth."

Soul Gem wanted to cry already. Even his master abandoned him!

But before that, Black Lotus shouted in anger. "Soul Gem! What is this shit?!"

"Ah!" Dalquiel suddenly noticed the same thing. "What the hell?!"

Everyone turned in their direction and could see Black Lotus and Dalquiel holding their Werdlem Treasures. "What happened?"

Soul Gem moved over and grabbed the Werdlem Hexahedron. "Hum? This is weird. The Hexahedron isn’t working."

They finally understood. None of their Werdlem Treasures gave any response. "Soul Gem! You destroyed our Treasures?!"

Soul Gem quickly shook his head. "I didn’t destroy anything! Nothing was supposed to happen to the treasures, okay?! I’m as puzzled as you are!"

At that moment, Rean’s CD received a call. "This..."

Rean took his CD out, completely confused. "How is my CD working? There is no Werdlem Network Signal here."

That caught everyone’s attention again, and they watched as Rean answered the call. It wasn’t a live call, though. Instead, it was just a recording. As for the person in that recording...

"Victor!"
