Chapter 4299: Doton
Chapter 4299: Doton
Going back to the mainland without an airplane would take a few days. Fortunately, once Roan’s group left the Carcatira Alligators’ Territory, they relaxed a little. It was hard to expect the Aberration would come after them this far. It had no intelligence, so it wasn’t like it could track them with that form.
That said, Roan’s group made another stop, but this time, he gave Wurshan and the others enough time to recover some usable strength. They are still Aura Gods, so if the five of them move together back to the mainland, and considering the mainland was relatively close, it should be safe. They might find some Godly Beasts here and there, but definitely not another Predator. That’s too rare.

As the days passed, Kentucky and Celis kept digging further into the Celestial Stones Vein. Well, the excavators did. Celis was there simply to keep the overflow of Celestial Energy in check, along with a few other cultivators who had the same volunteer job.
’Celis,’ Kentucky suddenly contacted the Cedar. ’The ores we are looking for. They are just a few hundred meters in that direction.’
Celis looked over to the wall on their side. They found plenty of Celestial Stones on the way here, and the further they went, the more there were. He knew they were getting close. ’The only question is how we will acquire the ores without being found.’
Considering the small distance from the ores, there would be no need for excavators. Kentucky could use his own body to dig his way there. ’I will have to use the intervals. Would you be able to keep them busy? It doesn’t matter if I’m found after. I just can’t be found before finding the ores.’
Since they were excavating, all the dirt, rocks, and Celestial Stones obviously had to be sent back to the surface. The Spatial Rings brought to help with it were being filled quite fast, so a few guys were sent back and forth to unload the contents.
Naturally, that happened at set intervals after they helped with the excavation.
Celis thought for a moment and nodded. ’Yes, I can. Just wait for this tunnel to go a little deeper, which will leave you with a good enough opening. Dig a hole and cover it behind you. If anyone asks where you went, I’ll tell them you went out to take some air.’
Celis and Kentucky followed the plan, and when the time came, Kentucky turned around and began to move back. Sure enough, the others got curious, and Celis told them the excuse.
"That sounds like a good idea." It was then that Closandro spoke.
Back when Celis asked to be sent into another tunnel, Closandro was asked to swap places with him. However, Closadro refused the offer, so the Spirit in charge had to ask someone else. Closandro was part of the excavation team and had been working diligently ever since.
"Hey, Closandro, we still need you here!" Another cultivator asked, annoyed.
Closandro didn’t seem to care, though. "You can do it yourself for a while. Don’t forget I haven’t taken a single break since we started, unlike you, who stopped from time to time. I’m way ahead of my quota than you guys are with yours."
And so, Closandro began to make his way back. The other members of the excavation team wanted to complain, but they couldn’t. Closandro told them the truth. He was way ahead and hadn’t taken a break even once. They had no right to ask him to continue. If they wanted Closandro back, they would have to wait until he also took his break, which was his right. They just got used to Closandro not doing it until now.
Celis narrowed his eyes, contacting Kentucky through their connection. ’Closandro is making his way back to the surface.’
’Hum?’ Kentucky was taken aback. ’Didn’t you give an excuse? Why is he after me?’
’He isn’t after you,’ Celis explained. ’He said he is going out to rest after I told everyone that you did the same.’
Kentucky stopped in his tracks. ’What now? Should I stop and go out? I was using the interval between the Spatial Rings delivery.’
’Just wait for him to pass by you,’ Celis said. ’I want you to check if he will refuse to leave.’
Kentucky obviously understood what Celis meant, so he nodded and waited.
A few minutes later, Closandro appeared in Kentucky’s sight, walking in his direction. Well, there was no other direction since it was a tunnel. "Didn’t you go out to take some air?"
Kentucky shrugged. "I just didn’t want to stay there with you guys. The excavation is just too noisy. Besides, I’m only here to help protect Celis since we are from the same Great Void. I’m not exactly necessary there."
Closandro narrowed his eyes. Then, he looked at the time, nodding. "We are both Demon Beasts. Shall we drop our pretenses? The interval between the delivery of spatial rings with the debris isn’t that long. If we work together, we can get enough ore for each of us."
Kentucky faintly smiled. "So you noticed it. I found it too strange that you insisted on taking this path when you were asked to exchange the tunnel you would work on. How much do you know?"
The demon beast touched the tunnel, exactly in the place you would if you were going to excavate in the rare ore’s direction. "I’m not sure. It’s an innate ability of my race to perceive high-quality minerals, but we can’t exactly tell what we will find. It is definitely on par with the minerals used in the best armaments in the Besgol Region, though."
"Oh!" Kentucky joined him. "So it is basically like my race. I also can’t tell what it is, but it gives me the same feel. Alright, we can work together. However, we aren’t really stealing it. We just need to be the ones who found it."
"By the way, I’m Kentucky, from the Minokawa race."
The rock demon beast also introduced himself. "Doton from the Star Stone Race."
Doton knew what Kentucky meant, which worked just fine for him. "Let’s start."
