Chapter 4583: Good Lines
Chapter 4583: Good Lines
As a Zone God herself, Kachia didn’t really need her father’s support to make a place for herself. She didn’t even live in the same country as him. If anything, Arcis had made sure that she and his younger children were properly taught never to rely on him. They were Demon Beasts. If they wanted something, they had to go out and get it themselves. Sure enough, Demon Beasts would be Demon Beasts.
Kachia was currently in her nest, located within the Godly Subjugation Guild of Mavol Country. Just like everyone else, she had also been digesting everything she had gained from that trip to Woster. Well... except for the moments when Kentucky came to see her, that was. Those interruptions had become increasingly common lately, although Kachia hadn’t exactly been complaining about them.
Above all, her performance in Woster had elevated her importance to Besgol considerably. She was now considered a valuable asset to the region, especially because she was almost immune to Godly Pressure from outside. That was an advantage that very few cultivators could claim, all thanks to the events in Woster.
She was only at the Middle Stage of the Zone God Realm, but when fighting outside the Sacred Relic’s Influence, she could perform at a level comparable to a Peak Stage Zone God. It wasn’t that Kachia herself was overwhelmingly powerful. Rather, she simply wasn’t weakened nearly as much as the other cultivators. That alone was already a tremendous advantage in any battle against Godly Creatures.
—
Suddenly, Kachia heard the sound of wings flapping from above and looked up to see who was passing by. A moment later, a familiar black-and-white bird came flying down, landing directly in front of her nest. "Hum? Kentucky? Didn’t you say you would probably be busy during the next few days?"
Kentucky nodded. "Rean and the others have already decided that we’re going to resume our cultivation time in full. We’ll be heading out soon for another Elite Exploration Mission to hunt Godly Predators for the same reason."
"Did you come here just to tell me that?" Kachia asked, raising an eyebrow. "You could have contacted me through the Besgol Network."
Kentucky scratched the back of his head with one of his wings, looking somewhat embarrassed. "Ah, fuck it! I’m not good with this kind of thing."
Kachia was puzzled by his reaction. Then she noticed Kentucky approaching her with an unusually serious expression. "Wh-What? Did something happen? What’s with that face? Did someone die?"
"What?!" Kentucky was taken aback. "N-No! No one died! Where did that come from?"
Kachia narrowed her eyes. "Well... I can easily count the number of times I’ve seen you with such a serious expression. It doesn’t fit your personality at all."
"What are you talking about?! I can totally be very serious!" Kentucky immediately countered.
"Sure, and I can be the Queen of Besgol. Nothing to it." Kachia answered back.
Kentucky was helpless. That wasn’t exactly the kind of conversation he had expected to have a minute ago. "Ahem! You might not become the Queen of Besgol, but you sure can be my queen..."
Kachia’s expression immediately changed into a very strange one. "That has to be the worst pickup line I’ve ever heard in my life..."
Kentucky’s feathers were black and white, but he was so embarrassed that one could almost see a tinge of red appearing between them. He quickly turned around, avoiding eye contact. "I... I said I’m not good at this!"
But then, from behind, a pair of clear blue, cool, feathered wings gently embraced him. "A queen is too much, but your mate for life can be considered."
Kentucky’s eyes lit up, and he quickly turned back toward her. "Really?!"
"Really..." Kachia answered. A playful smile soon appeared on her face, though. "But I’m very selfish, so no more fan clubs."
"Eh?!" Kentucky hadn’t expected that at all. "But everyone loves the Great Kentucky Fan Club!"
Kachia retracted her wings and began walking back toward her nest. "Well, if the fan club is more important, then I guess this is it for us. I told you, I’m very selfish."
"W-Wait!" Kentucky immediately followed after her, this time embracing her with his own wings. "I... I had many years of fan club enjoyment. I guess it is about time to put an end to it."
"Hahaha!" Kachia laughed out loud. "Are you sure? Am I worth enough for you to give up the fan club? You’ll make a lot of girls from many races very sad if you do that."
"I’m sure!" Kentucky answered without hesitation. "Please be my partner!"
Kachia smiled, finally accepting him. "Then yes, I’ll be your partner."
Kentucky’s expression brightened immediately.
However, Kachia suddenly turned around and added, "Also, there’s no need to end the Kentucky Fan Club. It doesn’t bother me."
"Wait, what?!" Kentucky was completely taken aback. "You were testing me, weren’t you?"
"Half true," Kachia admitted. "I did want to see whether you’d be willing to give up the thing you love most for me. That was the proof that you considered me more important instead."
She paused before continuing. "However, there isn’t really a need for you to give it up because I already know how the fan club works."
"You know?" Kentucky suddenly thought of something. "You must have talked to Rean about it!"
"Yep!" Kachia didn’t deny it. "He told me how this big Fan Club of yours really works. They’re all crazy about you, but not really in a loving way. He told me that you’ve never truly had a partner of any kind, serious or otherwise. You just like all the attention."
"Well... I do like the attention. Always did," Kentucky admitted without hesitation.
He then looked at Kachia for a moment before making his decision. "But from now on, your attention is what I want."
Kachia finally felt a little embarrassed. She hadn’t expected him to come up with something that direct. "Now, that was a much better pickup line."
—
Back in the twins’ residence, Rean sat with his eyes closed, although his expression was quite annoyed. "That idiot bird. He’s completely blocking the sharing of memories. I can’t tell what’s happening there at all!"
Roan didn’t even bother making a comment about it. "Have you called the Guild Master already?"
Rean opened his eyes and turned toward him. "Aren’t you even a little bit curious?"
"Hmph!" Roan snorted. "I’m much more interested in whether the Guild accepted our request for a new Elite Exploration Mission."
"Forget it," Rean said, shaking his head. "I was an idiot for even asking you."
He then sent his mind into his Ring Communicator and made a call. ’Hello, Senior Clasou!’
Clasou clearly hadn’t expected Rean to contact him so soon. -Rean? What is it? Did something happen?-
’Not really,’ Rean explained. ’It’s just that my group is running out of Godly Crystals. Can you prepare another Elite Exploration Mission for us? I’ll contact Lukay and have him come with us. We’re going to focus on cultivation for a while, so we might as well help the guild with the long-distance explorations at the same time.’
Clasou definitely didn’t mind. -Great! There is indeed another location where I need an experienced team to take a look, based on the previous findings regarding the fauna there. Come to Volkel Country, south of Besgol, and meet my subordinate at the Godly Subjugation Guild Branch there.-
Rean smiled. ’Alright. We’ll see him there.’
