Chapter 1551 Fury Burns The Heart - 5!
"Miss, there is no need to waste words on someone like him," the old man said in a composed tone, his voice carrying an unquestionable authority. "He has already fallen to the corrupted side of a devil's transformation. There have always been humans who trade their souls to devils in exchange for power like this, and every one of them is a traitor to the human race. Such people are to be killed on sight."
"But how did he even come into contact with a devil?" the young woman asked, her brows knitting slightly as confusion surfaced in her eyes. "From what I have heard, the devils of the Devil Realm were wiped out long ago by the Primordials along with the top forces, including our Sword God Palace."
"Miss, that is something I cannot say with certainty," the old man replied as he shook his head, his expression calm yet thoughtful. "However, I am certain of one thing. A transformation like this only occurs when a human willingly sells their soul to a devil in exchange for power. If we capture him and interrogate him, we may be able to uncover the location of the devil he formed a contract with."
"Then do it," the young woman said without hesitation, her voice carrying a decisive coldness.
Max heard every word clearly. They had made no effort to conceal their conversation, and the same words echoed across the battlefield for everyone present to hear.
"Damn it," Max muttered as his brows furrowed. The moment he realized they were from the Sword God Palace, a heavy weight settled in his chest. He knew exactly how powerful such a force was in the Divine Realm, and with their arrival, his chances of killing the young elf master had dropped drastically.
As Max was still weighing his next move, a sudden surge of danger erupted from his right side. Through the perception of his Dimensional Sovereign Body, he instantly detected the old man closing in on him with terrifying speed, his sword already poised and aimed directly at Max's neck.
Max's expression turned cold. A fierce struggle flashed within his eyes as he considered unleashing all of his abilities to defend himself, yet he quickly suppressed the impulse. If he revealed too much, there was a real possibility that they would connect him to the devil from Orion, especially if his abilities overlapped in any noticeable way.
Realizing this, Max made a split-second decision and summoned his wings, pulling them tightly around his body to form a protective barrier.
Bang!
The sword struck against the wings with overwhelming force, and the impact blasted Max away like a broken projectile. His body tore through the air as he was thrown out of the hexagonal barrier's range, crashing far into the distance.
The moment Max's body came to a halt after crashing into the distance, his figure suddenly blurred and transformed into a streak of red light as he shot back toward the battlefield with explosive speed. His return was so abrupt and so fast that no one had time to react, and none of them had expected him to rise again after taking such a devastating strike.
Because of that brief moment of shock, one of the elven guards was caught completely off guard. Just as he had done before, Max closed the distance in an instant and drove his hand straight through the elf's chest, tearing through his heart without hesitation.
"HOW DARE YOU!" the elder elf roared in fury as ten radiant golden swords formed around him, each one humming with lethal power before they shot toward Max like streaks of divine judgment.
Max paid no attention to the incoming swords. His focus remained locked on the young master as he pushed forward without slowing down, his intent clear and unwavering. The three elves guarding the young master immediately tensed, their vigilance rising as they prepared to intercept him.
Yet before Max could even get close, a powerful fist emerged from nowhere and slammed directly into him with overwhelming force.
Bang!
His body was blasted away once again, thrown far beyond the hexagonal barrier as he crashed heavily into the distance.
This time, the damage was far more severe. The attack had come without warning, and Max had not even sensed it before it struck him. Caught completely off guard, he had taken the blow head on without any form of defense, and the impact left him seriously injured.
As he wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth, Max lifted his gaze toward the direction of the attack, only to see another group had arrived on the battlefield.
"He survived my attack?" the attacker said in clear surprise, his tone laced with disbelief. The people standing behind him also showed visible shock at the sight.
The one who had struck Max was a middle aged man with a powerful build, his presence exuding strength and authority. They were from the War God Palace, having just arrived at Orion after sensing the disturbance that had unfolded here.
"Luke, do not underestimate this creature," the old man from the Sword God Palace said in a steady voice. "He is a human who has undergone a devil transformation, and his strength rivals that of warriors at the peak of the Law Manifestation Realm."
"You do not need to remind me, Old Man Ray," Luke replied as his eyes remained fixed on Max, his gaze sharp and filled with hostility. "I can tell at a glance that this is a devil through and through."
Max's gaze swept across the newly arrived group from the War God Palace before shifting toward the old man from the Sword God Palace, and in that moment, a heavy realization settled within him as he understood just how dire his situation had become.
A bitter thought surfaced in his mind as he let out a quiet sigh. 'Am I truly not fated to reclaim my bloodline today?'
The anger within him still burned fiercely, and the hatred he carried for what the elves had done to him and his family had not diminished in the slightest, yet even as those emotions surged through him, he could clearly see the reality before his eyes.
With his current strength, he was still far from being able to stand against them. Even now, when he had come closer than ever to his goal, when he had a rare opportunity to kill the young elf and extract the bloodline source, the distance between them still felt insurmountable.
'Was all of this for nothing?' The thought gnawed at him, filling him with unwillingness to retreat empty handed. Although killing two elves at the Law Manifestation Realm was no small feat, he knew it would hardly cause any meaningful damage to their forces.
"We should capture him and interrogate him to uncover which devil he made a contract with, and once we find that devil, we will eliminate it as well," the old man Ray said as he turned to Luke, his tone calm but firm.
"If that is your decision," Luke replied, and as he spoke, a radiant light began to gather around his body. Within moments, a blazing golden sun manifested behind him, illuminating the surroundings with an overwhelming aura of power.
Seeing this, Max immediately grew alert, and the thought of retreating began to form in his mind as he realized that staying here any longer would only lead to his death.
BOOM!
However, just as that thought crossed his mind, the crack within the hexagonal barrier suddenly burst open, and a pillar of blue light shot straight into the sky with terrifying force.
WHOOM!
In an instant, the blue radiance expanded outward, engulfing the entire planet Orion along with everyone present on it.
When the light faded, Max found himself standing in a desolate land. He instinctively looked around and noticed that the ground was littered with countless corpses, creating a grim and silent scene. The people from the Sword God Palace, the War God Palace, and all the others had vanished without a trace, leaving him completely alone in this unfamiliar place.
"What just happened?" Max muttered in confusion as his body began to revert, the demonic transformation fading away as he returned to his original form. Slowly, he removed the mask from his face and put it away, his expression turning solemn as he tried to comprehend the sudden turn of events.
