Chapter 1973: History of the Four Sacred Clans - 1

The Voidwalker Ancestor stood above the awakened fifth end for a long moment before speaking again.

The entire Bloodline Legacy Battle arena stayed silent. The thousands of Voidwalker descendants in the sky held their formation, surrounding the arena like a dark starry net. Freya stood at the front of them with her silver-white hair moving in the wind, her gaze cold and steady.

The four sacred ancestors had already pulled back their pressure, while the four current clan leaders stood below them with ugly expressions, unable to accept that the truth they’d worked so hard to bury was about to come out in front of the whole younger generation.

Max stayed in his true dragon form at the center of the ruined battlefield. His enormous black-gold body had gone quiet, but the chaotic flames between his scales hadn’t fully died down.

He watched the old man closely, his mind racing with thoughts.

The Four Sacred Clans had called him a descendant of traitors. They’d accused him of carrying the stolen legacy. They’d tried to imprison him without ever explaining why. Now, finally, he was about to understand why Freya had once warned him never to reveal the name Voidwalker.

The Voidwalker Ancestor looked toward the statue of the First Progenitor.

"Before the Four Sacred Clans existed," he said slowly, "there were the Five Sacred Clans."

His voice wasn’t loud, but it reached every corner of the arena. The younger descendants of Valerius, Ashbourne, Ravenhart, and Evercrest listened with tense faces. Some of them had already guessed as much from what had just happened, but hearing the Voidwalker Ancestor say it outright still shook them.

The official history they’d grown up learning only spoke of four sacred bloodlines descending from the First Progenitor. The fifth had been erased so completely that even mentioning it felt like trespassing on forbidden ground.

The Voidwalker Ancestor raised his hand slightly. The starry screen behind him brightened, and ancient images began to appear across it. There stood a younger First Progenitor Arena, whole, undivided, and unscarred by abandonment.

Five platforms surrounded the statue. Valerius shone with sacred white-gold light. Ashbourne burned with crimson-black battle force. Ravenhart stood beneath silent purple shadows. Evercrest bloomed with green-silver life-space radiance. And the fifth platform, the one now awake beneath the Voidwalker Ancestor, glowed with dark stars and silver dimensional rings.

"Valerius, Ashbourne, Ravenhart, Evercrest, and Voidwalker," the old man continued. "Those were the Five Sacred Clans born from the legacy of the First Progenitor. Each clan inherited a different branch of his forbidden bloodline, and each carried a different duty."

His gaze moved across the four clan platforms.

"Valerius guarded the sacred flame and the judgment of light. Ashbourne guarded the martial body and the blood-iron battlefield. Ravenhart guarded shadows, prophecy fragments, and the silence of the soul. Evercrest guarded life, space, and sealed domains."

Then his gaze returned to the fifth end.

"And Voidwalker guarded distance, hidden worlds, dimensional passage, and the deepest seal placed around the sacred legacy itself."

Those words changed a lot of expressions in the crowd.

The Voidwalker Ancestor went on. "The sacred legacy of the First Progenitor wasn’t a simple inheritance technique. It wasn’t a martial art anyone could learn through effort. It was the deepest thing he left behind, the core inheritance holding the reason the five sacred bloodlines existed and the secret of what our ancestor truly carried."

The four sacred ancestors lowered their eyes slightly. The clan leaders’ faces turned even uglier. The young geniuses of the Four Sacred Clans stared at the starry screen, unable to look away.

The Voidwalker Ancestor’s voice grew heavier. "Since ancient times, the duty of the Five Sacred Clans was to protect that sacred legacy. None of us owned it. None of us had the right to use it however we wanted. None of us could force it open. The five clans were only guardians, waiting for the day the sacred legacy would choose an inheritor on its own."

On the starry screen, the five ancient clans could be seen kneeling before the First Progenitor’s statue, their bloodline marks glowing as they formed a vast seal around a dark, mysterious light hidden beneath the arena.

"For countless years, the sacred legacy stayed silent," the Voidwalker Ancestor said. "Generation after generation guarded it. Ancestors rose and fell. Heirs were born and died. Wars came and went. The clans changed leaders again and again, yet the sacred legacy never once chose anyone."

His old eyes narrowed slightly.

"Then, one day, everything changed."

The image on the starry screen trembled. The peaceful arena from ancient times turned darker. Beneath the statue of the First Progenitor, the sealed sacred legacy suddenly pulsed. Its light wasn’t ordinary. It looked like a folded universe, a starry abyss, and a hidden world all rolled into one.

The moment it moved, the five platforms shook, and the Voidwalker platform reacted more violently than the rest.

The descendants in the current arena held their breath.

The Voidwalker Ancestor said, "According to the history written by the other four clans, the Voidwalker Clan betrayed the sacred pact. We stole the sacred legacy of the First Progenitor, the very thing we’d sworn to protect with our lives, and fled from the Five Sacred Clans."

The Valerius platform fell silent. The Ashbourne descendants clenched their fists. The Ravenhart geniuses traded shocked looks. The Evercrest descendants looked unsettled. This was the version most of them had heard before, though never spelled out so directly.

The Voidwalker Ancestor didn’t deny the story right away. He only looked at the starry screen.

"That’s what they saw."

The image changed. Several members of the ancient Voidwalker Clan stood before the sealed sacred legacy, their eyes glowing with a strange starry light. Their faces looked dazed, pained, and reverent all at once. They didn’t look like thieves who’d come for greed. They looked like people being pulled along by a voice no one else could hear.

The Voidwalker Ancestor’s voice went quiet.

"But it wasn’t that simple."

The whole arena leaned into the silence.

"It wasn’t the Voidwalker Clan that first chose to steal the sacred legacy," he said. "It was the sacred legacy that chose to move."
