Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 4592: Moment Of Alignment

Chapter 4592: Moment Of Alignment

*Wrraa!~*

The Eternal Eclipse Bird let out a bone-chilling, distorted cry as its wings cleaved through the skies, twisting its trajectory to the right in an arc. The terrain below blurred, ridges and valleys becoming streaks of color as the world whipped past them.

Davis wasn’t using a terrifying speed to travel, but since the rate of progression was higher than the past week and the speed utilized was better than their top speed in this heavy space, they felt as though they were going too fast.

The Eternal Eclipse Bird was already concealed.

Even if some calamities struck them, it was difficult to get hold of them. They could only look in their way before turning as though forgetting about them.

Occasionally, the Eternal Eclipse Bird let out random cries which would break its concealment.

Davis could only shrug as to what this meant when asked by Myria and the others. He merely guessed that it could be the instinct of the Eternal Eclipse Bird to caw whenever its soul was tugged firmly by the reins he possessed.

Meanwhile, Tia was looking out from the edge of the bird. She felt a sense of calling as she felt a few lines aligned neatly. She muttered to herself, "A good view of the Shard Continent... might be beneficial to do it here as I feel the world encompasses me with its embrace..."

She took out an object, a staff used in divinations.

As she dropped it, the brown staff remained suspended in the air despite the gentle winds stacking against her figure.

"The general direction of a nearest pathway to the Transcendent Galaxy’s Upper Realms~"

She voiced out, her statement broad and wide, without the rest of the incantations she would use.

The brown staff shook and abruptly pointed at her- no, pointing past her.

Tia turned to look back, seeing that a dimensional pathway that they could be searching for was in the northeast direction from the Wrathful Aeons Shard Region’s entrance to the Shard Continent. She knew there was a grand chasm to the east nearby on the map, so it was unknown if they needed to cross it to get there.

She frowned, wondering if their luck was good or bad.

*Crack~*

At this moment, the brown staff cracked and shattered into wooden fragments and then dispersed in the wind.

Tia bled in her mouth lightly, but she turned around before Davis could see her.

However, Davis saw what had happened. How could he not sense the undulations?

He saw three spatial maws jump at Tia to devour her, and despite biting her, they were not able to break through the cocoon of karmic threads, which was her Karmic Guardian Physique. They were only able to rip a few threads. Only the staff was damaged as the spatial maw ripped right through it.

Davis pretended that he didn’t look.

As long as she wasn’t going to incur a heavy karmic wound, he wouldn’t interfere. That was his promise. But still, his heart bled to see her suffer.

Therefore, Myria and he decided to take turns healing her karmic wound so that their karmic burden wouldn’t rise greatly. The karmic wounds from divining in this dimension were no joke. He had heard long back that Mystic Diviners wouldn’t dare to try divining here, so there was now a black market for Mystic Diviner slaves.

The outcome of their divination could be obtained, but the Mystic Diviner would definitely die. As such, lone Mystic Diviner Immortal Emperors or Sovereigns were hunted long ago. They were now protected by a new team they joined or exploited in order to obtain treasures and discover pathways.

"Woah~ Look, there are a few supreme geniuses there? Should we call out to them? Hello! How are you doing!?"

Tia tried to avert Davis’s gaze as she walked to the other side and luckily spotted some supreme geniuses.

They were just making their way in a crystal valley full of Peak-Level Transcendent Crystals. There were two mountains of it, greatly less than what they found in the Wrathful Aeons Shard Region, but still worth it.

Those geniuses looked up, unable to believe a Void Calamity just talked to them. They shook their heads, wondering if it was an illusion as they turned to look around for an ambush.

Tia even waved her hands, but they couldn’t see.

She could only pout and come back with a regretful expression.

Davis chuckled, "Saw any familiar faces?"

Tia shook her head, "There are just too many of these supreme geniuses. It seems like millions poured in from all the Upper Realms and the Greater Realm. It’s hard to find one that we recognize. If we do, we’re going to kidnap them again~"

She brought her arms closer to her bosom and shook giddily.

Davis could tell that his little aunt was a bandit in the making. He smilingly shook his head when his expression churned.

Ahead was a foggy region. There was nothing marked here, but right now, he felt a strange undulation, but only for a moment. He wondered what it was, but didn’t stop, as he also felt that it could be his imagination.

He activated Death God Eyes, but he couldn’t see anything as a thick layer of mountains covered the region.

The Eternal Eclipse Bird soared silently through the layers of thick, misty clouds, its shadow stretching like a phantom over the jagged mountain ridges below. The landscapes blurred into a grim panorama. The ashen forests, cracked valleys bleeding molten rivers, and storm-laden plains where unnatural lightning split the sky in eerie silence loomed over them.

This area was noted to have been peaceful, even beautiful, but Davis felt the gnawing weight in his chest. The stillness wasn’t serenity. He felt it was the suffocating quiet before a predator strikes.

"Get in."

Davis said as he raised his head.

At that moment, Tia, Myria, and Isabella all felt a tug, and they didn’t resist. They disappeared into Davis’s life ring.

The air around them thickened, a subtle pressure brushing against his skin, too deliberate to be the wind.

His eyes narrowed as his soul sense swept across the expanse, and then he saw it, a pulsating glimmer of light far behind them, at first faint like a distant star but growing with terrifying speed. Its shape flickered and danced unnaturally, a translucent jelly of radiant hues. Its tendrils were like scythes, intending to cleave the Eternal Eclipse Bird as it reached out for them.

’What the fuck is that?’ Davis’s heart shook as he sensed a Level Three Primarch Stage threat.

He didn’t know its name or specialty other than feeling it was light-attributed in nature, so he quickly maneuvered, willing the Eternal eclipse Bird.

The undead puppet screamed a guttural cry that shook the skies and dove sharply, its wings folding into a spear-like form as it cut through the atmosphere. The world lurched violently, the force pinning everyone against the bird’s back as the barrier warped to absorb the drag.

"Get inside!" Davis yelled at Fairy Thunderblaze, who refused to get into his life ring as she firmly resisted.

Instead, she grasped the feathers of the Eternal Eclipse Bird, not letting it go.

"I refuse." She coldly said.

"Idiot!" Davis insulted her, his glare furious. He had no time to inform Myria to take Fairy Thunderblaze into her life ring.

Now she was being stubborn, or perhaps her pride didn’t allow her to rely on him but only take advantage of him.

Abruptly, the Eternal Eclipse Bird twisted as it spun in the air, the maneuver nearly throwing her off as she was unable to hold under the force of the spin. She stumbled, about to fly away as she tried to catch another strand of its giant feather, but Davis reached out his hand and seized her wrist forcefully.

With a hard tug, he yanked her against him.

Fairy Thunderblaze’s breath hitched as her body slammed into his chest, his arm tightening around her waist as the Eternal Eclipse Bird abruptly snapped upward in a violent arc. The wind howled outside the barrier, their world a blur of twisting skies and jagged ridges flashing past below.

Tens of tendrils that were shaped like scythes freely grew and stretched, and tried to cut them but with Davis using his senses to help the death puppet maneuver, it was nimble and capable of dexterous flight, never getting caught.
