Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 4593: Reaching The Next High-Level Shard Region

Chapter 4593: Reaching The Next High-Level Shard Region

Soon, they broke out of its entanglement, and the strange calamity no longer chased them.

Davis slowed down the Eternal Eclipse Bird’s speed and lowered the altitude. He didn’t dare face a light-attributed calamity with a dark-attributed one. It would end badly. He had already seen the False Dawn Harbinger make easy work out of this Level Two Primarch Stage Eternal Eclipse Bird.

This was a Level Three Primarch Stage calamity. They would be ripped into shreds. Fortunately, the jelly appeared to be slow, unable to propel itself forward as fast as the Eternal Eclipse Bird, other than stretching its tendrils to long distances.

“Let me down~”

As he was pondering with his heart palpitating in trepidation, a cold hiss echoed against his ears.

Davis instantly became aware of the beauty in his arm. He blinked, turning to look into her eyes.

Her pride screamed to push away, to spit words of venom at his high-handedness, but the furious pounding of her heart betrayed her. She stayed there, pressed against him as the clouds parted and shrouded them in a golden light.

He let go after a second, and she dropped in front of him, her right hand raising to slap, but held it before it even traversed halfway.

She turned around, walking away as her pupils quivered.

The pounding of her heart was wild, but she eventually took control while trying to calm it down.

She recalled that despite the death chasing them, she would rather be blasted away than take his hand. Despite the tumultuous winds, there was a dizzying intimacy in that moment. She had also unwittingly taken a deep breath of his scent while her fingers instinctively clutched his purple robe, refusing to let go as opposed to her own Will.

‘What…?’

Davis had seen deep anger in her dark eyes. Yet, he had never seen such a tender expression on her face behind her veil. Was it his own illusion, considering he had not seen her true face beyond her veil? Was this another one of her tactics?

However, he knew her pride wouldn’t allow such degradation of herself.

At this moment, he wanted to use Heart Intent to peek at her thoughts through her emotions, but inwardly shook his head.

‘Forget it… She’s a woman who will bring chaos into the harem, especially when she made it clear that she wouldn’t acknowledge others. With her character, she might even move against them in the shadows…! I can’t bear such internal friction…’

His heart throbbed lightly as he made that decision, recalling her exquisite beauty that matched the Celestial Fairies. She possessed a great amount of dignity, pride and aligned herself with royal etiquette, the likes of which he had never seen in other women.

The way she moved carried innate arrogance, a conceit that looked down on all. It was sometimes annoying, but at other times, extremely attractive.

He admitted that she looked even more beautiful at that brief moment he turned to look at her, his heart churning with desire, yet the rose was full of thorns. Even if he could bear to get hurt, he could not stomach other flowers getting hurt.

So he sealed his thoughts inside quickly.

Davis released Myria and the others outside.

“What was that!?” Tia exclaimed.

They could look through Davis’s eyes, which he projected inside the life ring.

Davis couldn’t tell which one she was referring to, but chose to speak about the light-attributed calamity.

“No idea. It seems like you don’t have an idea either.”

He turned to look at Myria. She nodded her head. There were many calamities that they had no idea about. As long as they don’t know its abilities, it is better that they don’t engage in a battle with it, as some abilities would take their lives instantly.

Meanwhile, Isabella was intently staring at Zenova’s curvaceous back amidst the golden light of the sun. What he had seen, she had also seen. Her lips curled in delight. She turned to look at Davis, but he deftly shook his head, indicating for her not to pursue this matter.

“…” Isabella pouted.

Honestly, she was envious of Fairy Thunderblaze, who ticked all the characteristics of an Empress she had in mind. Zenova Artoria was smart, ruthless, and decisive when it came to most things, but she could never be that ruthless since she knew her innate gentleness and orthodox teachings made her vulnerable to the cruelty of the cultivation world.

The ideal Empress she envisioned in her mind was like Zenova Artoria, who would do anything to claim what she wanted while holding her head high, never to look down.

Hence, she thought she would be a fine addition to their harem, but also to sharpen her edge. She felt someone other than her who was aiming to be the Empress of her empire, could give her the edge to go above and beyond.

However, Davis indicated that she should not pursue this matter, leaving her at an impasse.

Regardless, she couldn’t decide by herself, as she also knew Zenova Artoria was too prideful. She might agree to share initially, but later… There could be a bloodbath suddenly for no apparent reason.

‘Mhmm… I should leave this to my Emperor. He always makes the right decisions…’ Isabella stopped thinking.

Fairy Thunderblaze didn’t say anything and just stood away from their group, looking at the changing scenery with an absentminded gaze.

While they talked about the jellyfish and the next few calamities they had seen, they finally arrived before the entrance to the Shard Region that Shirley was in a few hours.

“Luminous Rage Shard Region.”

Davis worded out with a bit of excitement appearing on his face.

As they entered the Luminous Rage Shard Region, he recognized there were some spying eyes.

Then, without saying anything, Fairy Thunderblaze took off into the skies like a bolt of lightning as thunder rumbled behind them. The ladies were stunned as they felt she would come with them, as it was the best way to gather resources.

“Come find me when you’re done. I’ll be here somewhere. I know you can track me down.” Only Davis received a soul transmission before she left.

Her voice of devoid of emotion. Not even a teasing tone of amusement was there.

He looked at her disappearing silhouette, wondering if he had escaped calamity or missed out on a lifetime opportunity. Either way, he turned to look towards a particular direction, where his karmic thread connected to Shirley swayed and extended into the horizon while ignoring the karmic thread that seemed to stretch over the other side, full of interesting colors.
