Chapter 4595: Parasol Trees
Chapter 4595: Parasol Trees
The valley was a short one.
Crosswinds dragged them into lands where the sky dimmed unnaturally, a perpetual dusk painted in swirling shades of gold and amber. Here, countless shards of light hung suspended midair, unmoving and even appearing eternal.
They pulsed faintly, resonating with the land below, where craters brimmed with still pools of liquefied radiance. Each pool reflected the stormy skies, their surfaces occasionally disturbed by ripples from unseen movements beneath due to bubbling, flaming holes.
Tia wanted to wake Davis up so he could see the beautiful scenery, which resembled a plethora of lights shining on them.
If Davis were awake, he would definitely recognize it since it was like a disco bar. However, it didn’t have its neon or multicolored glow, making it much more mesmerizing when seen under the shades of gold and amber light.
There were some cultivators here battling with flame-attributed spirits.
Both sides were powerful at the level of Empyreal Sovereigns, making them watch as they flew past the battlefield.
The cultivators merely glanced at them.
Eventually, the skies cleared again, opening into a realm of strange serenity of lights.
Rolling plains of radiant crystal shards stretched endlessly like they were grass, their surfaces refracting the beams above into curtains of color that swayed with every breeze. The ground cracked faintly beneath the pressure of condensed energy, yet life thrived here. Trees of translucent fire swayed softly, their branches shedding faint golden embers that floated upward, drifting lazily until the wind carried them away.
"Translucent Golden Parasol Tree!" Tia slapped her cheeks, "It’s an extremely rare light and flame-attributed tree adored by the Light Phoenix and Seven-Colored Phoenixes. The two of these species could only dream of perching on it and basking in its essence because it’s only known to be grown from the essence of a Prismatic Soul Phoenix. To think this Shard Region contains so many..."
"Phoenixes would adore this place. I bet Shirley, Flamerose, Frostrose, and the others are somewhere here..." Isabella giggled, her eyes full of expectations.
She was also going to see Shirley after a long time. After all, they had split off to collect more Primarch Grade resources long ago. Otherwise, their efficiency would be less, and the other genius would get to them.
Davis woke up at this moment.
He yawned and noticed that five hours had passed since he slept.
He looked into the distance and saw Shirley’s and many other karmic threads leading diagonally to the west, but he could sense it was way closer now.
"Head diagonally left," he said, causing Isabella’s eyes to light up.
If the direction changed forty-five degrees, then that meant they were getting closer.
She turned around and was soon astonished to find that a plethora of familiar auras were flaring in the distance.
Their flying boat slowed down its flight as Isabella controlled it.
Then, they could see the skies ignite.
A torrent of golden brilliance blazed across the horizon, beyond the trees, and from the opposite end surged a tide of argent frost, the clash painting the skies in radiant hues of molten gold and frozen silver.
There, at the heart of the maelstrom, two mesmerizing figures danced.
One blazed like a living sun, its colossal wings unfurling arcs of molten radiance that scorched the very clouds into ribbons of gold. Every beat of its wings birthed waves of scarlet-gold fire that rippled through the air, the sheer heat warping space itself. Its long, searing tail lashed behind it, scattering sparks that drifted like miniature suns, and its cry was sharp, commanding, and proud.
The other glided towards it with grace and then silenced the roaring scarlet-gold flames.
Its feathers shimmered like pure moonlight sculpted into crystalline frost, every plume refracting soft arcs of pale light that danced gently through the churning skies. With every motion of its vast wings, glacial streams of silver energy unfurled like tidal waves, freezing the blazing heat that dared approach.
Isabella felt her breath hitch, her eyes wide, and her soul trembling at the sheer majesty of the sight. The dazzling power and the vibrant auras exuding from the two phoenixes were overwhelming, yet it was enough to make her heart brim with unrestrained joy.
"T-That’s..." She whispered, unable to tear her gaze away.
"Flamerose and Frostrose..." Davis heaved a breath. "They’ve become Grand Saint Magical Beasts, still retaining their Emperor-Tier bloodline..."
"What are they...? They’re not Seven-Colored Phoenixes..." Myria took a deep breath as she also stood up.
In the skies, Flamerose and Frostrose paused.
They also sensed a flying boat approaching. Turning to look, they froze in place.
"Flamie! Frose!
Tia threw her hands up and kept jumping cheerfully.
However, Flamerose and Frostrose forgot to react, their eyes stuck on the flying boat, on the purple-robed man. Their hearts shook. He had really made his way here.
"What’s going on?" A sound erupted from below the two phoenixes.
"That sounded like Tia. Am I dreaming? Or did Isabella come here?"
A melodious and cheerful voice similarly echoed, causing Davis’s heart to thump wildly.
A figure rose into the air. She wore a crimson-blue robe. Her hair was similarly colored, but they had become much more radiant and glowed like they were spiritual strands when her energy flowed.
She flew to them but stopped halfway, her beautiful pair of eyes stuck on a flying boat. Her eyes had undergone an immense change, resembling a ruby gem and a sapphire pearl, which made them appear heterochromatic.
People could absolutely mistake her for a spirit when given a first glance.
Her smile grew wide as she spotted Isabella at the helm. However, that smile immediately froze as she spotted someone else.
She froze in midair just like the two birds above.
Instantly, tears ran down the beautiful figure’s face as she bit her lower lip like a baby.
"You finally came looking for me..."
"Shirley."
Davis’s figure practically disappeared from the flying boat, appearing before her in a split second, his figure colored by a black-golden vortex as they arced away. He reached out his hand, grabbing her frail shoulders before pulling her into his embrace.
