Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 4700 Swift Exploits

Chapter 4700  Swift Exploits

Davis considered Fairy Thunderblaze's account for half a minute before returning his gaze.

''If you're asking me if I'll follow the path you took, then no. I'll keep stealing from the heavens. It would be quite foolish of me to offend or rob from other existences that could enact actions in the real world after gaining enough connection. As far as I've seen, the heavens don't intrude unless some kind of great balance is broken."

He knew that when the World Master reached a level, she was punished with Divine Punishment Lightning of the highest order he could imagine. He had also felt it was coming when he almost devoured Myria while dual cultivating and nearly produced a new Reincarnation Cycle.

No matter how tiny and insignificant the Reincarnation Cycle was, it even attracted the attention of the Reincarnation Dimension.

Davis was still expecting them to appear at any time, but there were no signs of them so far. He now guessed that they could not intrude into the Elemental Dimension, as it might offend the Supremes of the Elemental Dimension.

"…" Fairy Thunderblaze knew that she was the connection after she absorbed the Divine Lightning.

She didn't feel regret and nodded, "That's why I also sought out another 'Divine Source', the Divine Scarlet Roar Flameseed. It has the mark of another existence's Divine Flames, so when the time finally comes to retrieve the debt, hopefully, the two Supremes would fight each other and kill themselves."

"Haha." Davis couldn't help but laugh, "You're still good at scheming and instigating. Hopefully, they will move according to your wishes, or you are already in the palm of their hands, that they're just having some drinks together and waiting to share you like you're a piece of pie. This makes me wonder what they would want with an Anarchic Divergent. If they share their power with someone like you, won't the heavens get mad at them? Therefore, you can almost be fully sure that they don't have good intentions for you."

"…"

Fairy Thunderblaze's expression sank.

Were these existences really waiting for her to grow so that they could devour her?

"Your insights are really helpful." After some time, Fairy Thunderblaze sighed, "It really makes me want to join your family and obtain significant backing."

"Then join." Davis simply nodded, "We welcome an ally like you."

"Never mind." Fairy Thunderblaze shook her head, "I don't wish to be restrained. Our current allied relationship sounds more than enough."

Davis nodded and didn't force it. Instead, he smiled languidly, "Speaking of which, weren't you going to play with me and control me from the shadows?"

"…" Fairy Thunderblaze smirked behind her veil as she said nothing.

Davis chuckled, thinking she had finally given up after realizing the wide, unclosable difference in their strengths. He also controlled the Eternal Eclipse Bird and even had partial control over Rioxys Plume, as she was willing to listen to him.

He had to record this achievement in the name of Bylai, Aila, and Dalila. He figured that these three kept teaching a lot of things about him, so when Rioxys Plume saw him, she instantly recognized and was willing to come under his command.

Davis was immensely gratified that his wives had followed his teachings.

Azariel and Viridia made the mistake of not informing allies about their state and background, and also didn't check who they were killing, and almost killed Rath Heavenshade and Ralaza Heavenshade. Such a loop in information and attacking method, or even defending method, will cause disasters when he is in the midst of trying to run a family.

Fortunately, he reached them in time to teach them.

On the other hand, his wives were mostly following his teachings. Hence, Rioxys Plume easily became his subordinate, and he was now breezing through the Shard Continent.

It was difficult to traverse the forest region without making noise. Even if they were concealed, just the wind and the swaying trees would betray their location while they're traveling fast. He had already passed by a few Calamities, but they dared not come closer as they sensed Rioxys Plume's dense aura.

Most Calamities hiding here seem battle-experienced.

It made sense since otherwise, they wouldn't have reached Level Three Exalt Stage.

Suddenly, an audacious Calamity decided to attack them.

At this speed, Davis merely found out moments before the Eternal Eclipse Birds' head looked like it was going to be chopped off by a strange cat-like creature with grasshopper legs and scythes.

It abruptly pounced from a tree above and descended with a terrifying speed.

However, Rioxys Plume already saw it coming.

She spread her hands and willed the darkness energy to encompass the air below the Eternal Eclipse Bird. Without even the Eternal Eclipse Bird needing to react, she made the bird drift left in perfect harmony, avoiding the first huge steel scythe by a giant arm's breadth.

"Mhph~"

Rioxys Plume harrumphed in an unamused manner, "Want to ambush me? Drown in my shadows."

A ripple of darkness exploded out from her body, and the space around her dimmed to pitch-black, swallowing the daylight as clouds of darkness appeared between the trees.

The cat-like Calamity found itself cleaving the air, its momentum halting as it reached the ground. Just as it stopped and turned to look around to jump instinctively, dark tendrils burst forth from above.

It dashed to the side in an attempt to dodge.

However, the dark tendrils lashed out with a fierce whip-like motion, catching the Calamity mid-pounce. Each tendril hissed and crackled with darkness essence, piercing flesh and burrowing into its body.

The creature shrieked as its energy was sucked dry, its movements faltering until it went limp, hanging like a puppet caught in invisible strings.

Finally, a sharp tendril pierced its head, and its soul was destroyed.

An unknown Level Five Exalt Calamity was dispatched just like that.

During this time, Davis and Fairy Thunderblaze were nothing more than trembling passengers.

Their faces were pale as the pressure from both Rioxys Plume and the cat-like grasshopper Calamity was insane. They felt as though they were going to be crushed if it weren't for the Eternal Eclipse Bird's innate layer of protection surrounding them.

Davis wryly smiled, "Rioxys, while you're making some move, don't forget to form a protective layer of energy over us. Do you know how to do it?"

"Of course~"

Rioxys Plume didn't turn to look back. Instead, she merely displayed a thumbs-up. That gesture instantly formed two protective layers around them individually, causing Davis and Fairy Thunderblaze to nod appreciatively.

However, she didn't retract them. It seemed like she was going to maintain it at all times.

Quickly, she was about to leave as the Eternal Eclipse Bird flapped its wings.

"Wait…! We haven't harvested its carcass yet." Davis shouted.

"Ah, yes. I forgot…"

Rioxys Plume turned the Eternal Eclipse Bird around and headed to the dead Calamity. Once there, she summoned her tentacle-like tendrils again and pierced the Calamity's body. Then she split it raw and obtained the core and threw the blood essence into containers that she got from her spatial ring before throwing the dried-up corpse inside.

Her darkness ability seemed to be capable of devouring not only energy but power.

Davis felt she would be a good match for Mingzhi. However, Mingzhi already has Iris Serenity, was was titled Nightveil.

Rioxys Plume obediently handed over the treasures to Davis before returning to the flying seat.

Davis was speechless. He hadn't bothered to gather blood from the carcasses of the Calamities.

After all, blood essence from calamities was mostly poisonous in nature. The Eternal Eclipse Bird's blood essence also contained the plague. It was one categorizing factor that made them who they were. Otherwise, they would be considered Feral Magical Beasts.

Additionally, if their blood was innately poisonous and they lacked sentience and souls, that would make them Vacuous Beasts.

Nonetheless, that didn't mean blood obtained from Calamities was useless. One needed to find the right ingredients to counteract the negative effects of the blood, and that could only be found by talented alchemists. Even genius alchemists have trouble with clearing the negative effects of blood essences belonging to Calamities.

Hence, Davis didn't bother with collecting blood. It was something they could do later when they were back at home or in a new home while tending and organizing the resources. With tens and thousands of resources collected, he imagined it was going to be quite hectic for the Treasury members.

Davis inwardly decided to bring in all the helpful hands he could get to organize them.

Fortunately, Dalila had already finished categorizing most of the resources that Bylai's group obtained. She was thorough. On the other hand, he and Myria also tallied the resources Isabella got, so only the resources from Shirley's group were left, and not to mention a final verification from Dalila, who was now effectively more knowledgeable than Myria and him regarding alchemy and the ingredients.

Time passed.

They met two more unknown Calamities.

There were simply many Void Calamities and Realm Calamities the human race had never encountered. These might be appearing in other galaxies.

One was a ball-like creature with only nostrils in the shape of a circle of a pig's.

Rioxys Plume killed it with a slow wave of her hands, crushing its entire body as the sea of darkness and tendrils encompassed it. The attack constricted the Calamity, bound it in a single place as the sea of darkness entered its body through the nostrils, and caused it to die by suffocation as its main core was restricted.

Another Calamity they encountered was an agile iguana-like creature that spat terrifying flames.

Again, Rioxys Plume, who was plenty powerful, had no trouble dealing with it.

Her sea of darkness combined with the tendrils to form a black maw that rapidly descended and ensnared the Calamity's head. The darkness grasped the creature's head and engulfed it into the maw, tearing it apart from the neck.

"…"

Fairy Thunderblaze was dumbfounded as she saw this once little spirit perform killing moves again and again.

What had those innocent-looking wives taught this spirit?

Davis was also speechless.

It seemed like Rioxys Plume was either battle-oriented or she had trained to kill with Bylai and the others.

Nonetheless, because of her fast killing moves, they obtained three cores.

One was a Mid-Level Primarch Grade Wood-Metal Core, and the other two were two Low-Level Primarch Grade Earth-Wind Core and Fire Core. These were treasures that would significantly boost law comprehension and could also be used as a treasure for constructing Godskull, as long as they possessed the right manual or could make one. Perhaps, they could even be used as substitutes as long as there wasn't too much of a difference with their original required resource.
