Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 5266: The Treasures In the Southern Abyssal Tidal Sea

Chapter 5266: The Treasures In the Southern Abyssal Tidal Sea

The other Exalt Beast that managed to break through into the Realm Beast Stage that Davis encountered from a vast distance was a Azuresea Tyrant Boa, a true Grand Ancestral Bloodline Rank Magical Beast. Its coiling form was extremely huge, nearly spanning eight thousand kilometers easily. Although it wasn’t of the noble line belonging to the Twelve Paragon Magical Beasts, it was still extremely powerful.

When it succeeded in becoming a Realm Beast and ascended, Davis could see its endless silhouette stretch beyond the horizon as it grew in size over twenty times! That was more than two hundred thousand kilometers, capable of coiling around an entire mountain range!

Nonetheless, this unlucky streak of his continued until the sixth site, where he was able to harvest a World Hegemon Grade treasure as he pried it from a wild tree lifeform that guarded it in a vast jungle island where the vegetation was as tall as mountains.

He also uprooted the tree lifeform and threw it into the Temporal Voidplane Ring to later plant it in the sanctuary. An Exalt Grade Tree Lifeform was precious. He couldn’t let it go.

It didn’t have any sentience. Otherwise, he would’ve chosen not to take the treasure or uproot it.

However, the seventh and eighth treasures were already occupied and nurtured by hidden powers, so he couldn’t just waltz into their territory and plunder them.

He had personally made the moral laws of the Davis Family and taught the children. He needed to be a prime and shining example of it. The Davis Family had to uphold their moral integrity or what difference was there between them and a sect or family that was devoid of mercy and conscience?

He didn’t want his children to resort to erroneous ways and commit unwarranted misdeeds beyond the scope of the law and moral guidelines of the Davis Family, nor did he want to lose his conscience since he was basically becoming more and more heartless with his Enigmatic Will.

It was fine if the treasure was wild, but if some power had taken painstaking effort to nurture it, then he didn’t want to commit a grave violation by ruining the countless years of waiting and sacrifice. Unless that power itself had offended him, he didn’t see the need to be so ruthless to them.

The treasure they had wasn’t something he felt like he required, no matter the cost, so he didn’t bother to barter with them either.

He quickly left for the next treasure before it could be obtained by someone else, but the two of them were blown by a massive storm. The resulting winds sent them tumbling, and Davis had been learning a few techniques from the roach movement art when he was disturbed, so he spat a mouthful of blood. He shouldn’t have been training new circulation methods while moving, so it was his fault.

After secluding and cultivating, he exited, finally arriving at the final destination.

Hence, till this point, he hadn’t made a move on Illumina again.

He got tired from being repeatedly cockblocked by the overarching currents of fate or simply being unlucky. Throwing himself at Illumina again and again yet not succeeding just made him feel stupid. Illumina wasn’t at fault, but he wasn’t overly excited anymore and only wanted to return back to the obsidian flying palace before making a move on Illumina.

That way, he could at least be assured that nothing dangerous would happen while he was having fun.

Currently, Davis wasn’t his usual self and did not use Heart Intent, so he missed the changes in Illumina’s emotions.

He gazed into the distance.

Eventually, the clouds parted, and a huge floating island came into view.

Although it was floating, it was barely above the sea surface, but it possessed a natural barrier that didn’t even let tsunamis shake it.

Davis guessed that the earth veins underneath the island must be heavier than even the water.

Zooming in, he saw lots of aerial feral beasts flying above the island. The moment they saw them, they took flight and descended as though they were going to attack them, but as soon as they sensed Illumina’s presence, they retreated with their wings over their heads.

Davis had to admit that they faced very few distractions because of Illumina. Without her, countless beasts would besiege them when sailing or soaring across the Southern Abyssal Tidal Sea. The feral beasts were too stupid to recognize a human powerhouse unless that human powerhouse constantly radiated their aura, which was not Davis’s way of doing things. He turned towards her and cast an affectionate smile, but noticed a solemn and determined expression on her face.

He made an amused expression before raising his hand and slapping her buttcheeks, producing a crisp, tantalizing sound.

"Ah~"

Illumina jumped lightly in embarrassed fright before turning to look at Davis, who grinned at her.

"Don’t worry, I intend to at least collect three treasures out of the nine marked in the south. Even if this magical beast island suddenly possesses a hidden power, I intend to take the World Hegemon Grade treasure through barter if need be. If they refuse, I’ll try threatening them, and then if they still don’t give the treasure, we’ll leave."

"...?" Illumina blinked.

That didn’t go in line with taking the three treasures...?

But Davis continued with a faint grin, "However, most of these treasures are near to maturing thanks to my actions, so I could be said to own a part of them. Hence, we’ll expose the location of the World Hegemon Grade treasures to other powers. It’s no different than me selling treasure maps, which we have already scoured clean other than those with hidden powers. This way, we’ll gain more benefits, exchanging two to four matured Exalt Grade treasures for each location marked on the map. In the end, we’ll have a few dozen or so more Exalt Grade Treasures for our family."

Illumina went speechless.

Her master was going to pull off a scam?

Sure, some of these treasures were still in the marked locations, like treasures that were in suppressed regions that Fairy Qiyra Darkstar and the others weren’t able to get, but as for the treasures nurtured by the hidden powers, these factions weren’t easy to bully either. They had Exalts at the peak level even if not at the layer limit. Furthermore, their Legacy Artifacts would aid them in dealing with layer limit experts.

Even for them, if they didn’t go all out, it would be difficult to plunder the treasures, but sure enough, this would certainly make their lives difficult!

Illumina couldn’t help but smirk as this scam sounded interesting. She couldn’t wait to see all those noble cultivators acting high and mighty, all rage at the sight of these treasures not being easily accessible. However, her smirk contained another meaning as she stared at Davis, her eyelids fluttering and her tail bun quivering.

Davis had already turned around and flown off, landing on the floating island.

The heaven and earth energy here was much more comfortable to breathe than the sea. It was filled with the element of wind, but he could also discover faint traces of yin in the air. Perhaps it was crowded by female magical beasts, which could mean this was a birthing ground, a nest!

*Caw!~*

Davis saw a huge azure wind-attributed crow on a giant tree scream at him, but life before, when Illumina appeared by his side, its heart nearly leaped as it made an escape for it. The two of them soared into the air without paying much attention to their surroundings as Epsila showed them the way.

They headed deep inside the mountains and came across a valley. It split into multiple waterways, all heading to a giant lake in the middle. Above the lake, there were countless smaller floating islands and giant feathers; sprawling leaves and other objects were arranged together to make nests.

The moment Davis and Illumina stepped into the exceedingly huge lake, the birds all peeked out, but none of them left even as they laid their eyes upon Illumina.

"Oh? A True Exalt Beast bird ruler is here...?"

Davis instantly concluded once he saw the reactions of these birds. Except for phoenixes, he could nearly see all kinds of birds, but mostly rocs.

On top of the foremost and biggest floating island, he could see that island rumble and a huge head peek out from the nest as though it had just woken up from sleep. A sharp, rocky beak extended from its face, with its wingspan spreading four times its body size. It opened like an umbrella that blotted out the sky.

He narrowed his eyes as he saw that it was undoubtedly a roc.
