Chapter 1011: Solane

Chapter 1011: Solane

"Get up. You don’t have to put your head on the ground," Yohan said, looking down at Lucine, who was currently kowtowing before him.

Hearing Yohan’s voice, Lucine raised his head. He looked anxious, his expression betraying a deep-seated unease.

"I thought you were with Arjun and the others. It’s surprising to see you all the way out here," Yohan remarked, signaling for Lucine to follow him toward the clan’s exit.

Yohan felt a prickle of discomfort at Lucine’s behavior. The man was usually calm and composed, but right now, he was acting entirely out of character—as if something were eating him alive from the inside.

Lucine followed silently. Eventually, the two of them left the Lin clan and River Shore City behind. Lucine remained mute, simply following Yohan as two of them flying in particular direction. Yohan had decided to head to a nearby town located fifty miles away.

The town was called Solane. It was a notorious hub for mercenary guilds, cheap inns, and brothels. Since arriving in this world, Yohan had never found the chance to visit; technically, he hadn’t explored much of the Northern Region at all, aside from that ghostly town when he first encountered Amelia.

"Hey, do you drink?" Yohan asked without looking back.

Lucine fell silent. In this world, who didn’t drink? As a rogue cultivator who had spent most of his life wandering, drinking and carousing were common pastimes for him, same goes for mercenaries and wondering warriars who don’t belong to any place.

"Lord Yohan... don’t tell me..." Lucine looked at Yohan with suspicion. He was no naive; he had already guessed their destination based on their heading toward Solane.

"Do you have a problem drinking with me?" Yohan finally turned to him with a serious gaze completely ignoring what lucine said.

In an instant, Lucine felt a surge of despair, fearing he had offended his master. "No... my lord... I just wondered why someone of your standing would go to such a place. More importantly, how can I drink with someone like you? I am a nobody."

He spoke in a nervous, hurried tone. Yohan frowned. The man was so earnest that he couldn’t even tell Yohan was simply teasing him.

’I guess it’s my fault. I was too harsh with him,’ Yohan thought, remembering how he had beaten Lucine and forced him into his service—essentially enslaving him. Judging by Lucine’s handsome features and noble aura, Yohan suspected he wasn’t of low birth. There was likely a story behind his life as a rogue cultivator, but Yohan had no interest in prying. Everyone had their own circumstances, the thing he intersted of knowing why he is looking so scared and nervous.

"Don’t think so highly of me. I just want a drink and good food ," Yohan whispered. "It’s been a while since I’ve touched alcohol."

In truth, he hadn’t had a drop since crossing over to this world. Back in his previous life, he enjoyed a drink once in a while, and after coming to this world he hadn’t got any chance to enjoy what he used to enjoy in his previous world ,he was curious to see how the liquor here compared. He had chosen Solane for a simple reason: he wanted to avoid the unnecessary attention he would garner in River Shore City, especially after the drama that had recently unfolded.

Lucine remained silent. In his eyes, Yohan was far too young to be speaking like a seasoned drinker, and he was dumbfounded by the claim that it had "been a while." Nevertheless, he followed quietly knowing yohan’s temperament, his body still remember the beating and horrar that he faced when he was guarding the slave camp,he felt goosebumps all over his body as the memory of that particular surface in his head.

Sometimes later two of them descended a few meters from the entrance of Solane to avoid the notice of the guards, yohan has no intention of revealing he is cultivator.

"Hey lucine from this moment on,No need to call me ’Lord.’ It’s annoying when you call me lord. You can simply call me young Master Yohan," Yohan said, casting him a glance.

A bittersweet smile touched Lucine’s lips. It made little difference, master or lord those two were same thing, but he nodded in response.

"Well then, let’s go find a decent place. I hope the liquor is good," Yohan said, a look of genuine excitement crossing his face,he wanted to have a good drink.

As they reached the gates of the solane, they immediately caught the attention of the guards. Seeing two handsome men carrying such domineering presences, the guards instinctively moved aside to clear a path not even dared to ask their names and their reasons to coming this place. These guards weren’t fools; they could tell these weren’t ordinary men—especially the one in the black robe leading the way.

Yohan ignored them, simply pulling a small pouch of coins from his spatial ring and handing it to one of the men.

"Divide this among yourselves," he said, stepping into Solane.

Once the two had disappeared into the city, the guards stared at each other in disbelief. The guard immediately opened the pouch. When he saw the glimmer of silver coins, his soul nearly left his body. This amount of money could feed their families for years.

"Who the hell is that man...?" they stammered, unable to believe they had stumbled into a fortune just by showing a little courtesy.

Inside the city, Yohan and Lucine walked side-by-side, drawing stares from every direction. Solane was a small town, and it was rare to see men of their caliber in such a place. Wealthy nobles preferred the luxury of River Shore City; Solane was reserved for mercenaries and thugs.

Yohan was unbothered by the scrutiny. He was just glad no one had recognized him yet. After a few minutes, they reached an inn that served both liquir and lodging.

Without hesitation, Yohan stepped inside. The moment he entered, he became the center of attention for a room full of mercenaries and low-lifes. The air was thick with the smell of drink and the presence of women serving the rowdy crowd. Lucine gulped, feeling a wave of nervousness.

Lucine was used to these gritty settings, but Yohan belonged to a world of riches and refined beauties.

’If someone gets on his nerves, he might end up destroying the entire city,’ Lucine thought fearfully, imagining the worst-case scenarios.

The entire tavern fell silent. Yohan was blessed with heaven-defying features and looks; he was strikingly handsome and radiated the aura of high nobility.

"This looks like a good place to dine. I hope they serve decent food and liquor," Yohan remarked, completely indifferent to the eyes of those people. He gestured toward an empty table sitting right in the middle of the room.

"Let’s take that one,we are lucky to find a suitable place!" Yohan said excitedly and wondered by no one has taken that seat but nevertheless he didn’t bother,it was good thing that it was empty and begging him to sit.

As he walked toward the center of the room and took a seat, the crowd began to mutter. The serving women looked on with expressions of pure terror, as if Yohan had just committed a fatal mistake of his life.
