Chapter 1560: Imaginary Blades

Chapter 1560: Imaginary Blades

Adam and Silvana had two shared abilities that they could only use when both of their energies were engaged.

The Imaginary Cut and Future of the Past.

Now, one of those abilities had changed. It was entirely Silvana’s decision. Adam had no influence on which of their abilities would get a new appearance. He trusted Silvana completely.

Clutch. Clutch.

As soon as the two blades, which were actually part of the scissors, were in Adam’s grasp, his eyes flashed once.

[Imaginary Cut has been changed and transformed into another ability.]

[New ability obtained – Imaginary Blades.]

[Imaginary Blades

[The cut that required the strength of both of you to create brought you many victories, but with your growing strength, the dangers of the world around you became more formidable as well. Now, you need a weapon capable of more than one precise, deadly cut, and that weapon is in your hands.]

As always, the description did not contain precise instructions on what Adam was capable of with this ability, but since this ability was now part of his power, he knew what he had to do.

Thump. Thump. Thump.

The monsters were approaching. The two empty blades with purple outlines in Adam’s hands did not scare them. This would not be the first Phantom swordsman they would face and tear to pieces. At least, that’s what they thought before Adam took his first step.

The blades were still part of the scissors, hovering between being a mass of energy and a real weapon.

’This is enough to win,’ Adam thought as he looked up.

The great beast with its powerful jaws and trembling muscles towered over him. It was the same one that had attacked Adam earlier when he defended himself with his needle.

The beast was confident that now it could defeat Adam, but... reality was different.

Step.

Adam stepped forward as his frame turned into a blur.

In the next moment, he was behind the beast, so fast that the monster didn’t have time to understand anything.

Crack. Crack.

Two intersecting lines opened on the beast’s chest as the first drops of blood appeared before its eyes.

With a crimson splash, the beast’s eyes went blank as it collapsed to the ground. A tremor ran through its heavy body, but all attention was focused on Adam and his blades.

There was not a drop of blood on the imaginary blades. It was a clean cut that left the beast no chance.

Moreover, the Black Threat Monsters were not stupid. They understood that the problem was not only Adam’s speed but also the sharpness of his blades. They did not know if it was possible to defend against his slashes even with the heaviest shield or thickest hide.

"Groh!" "Grho!" "Groooh!"

Among the multitude of monsters were several flying ones. The birds with wide wings hovered above the battlefield and, following Vaarh’s orders, had only one target: Adam.

But that was no longer a problem for Adam. He didn’t even need to reach the birds with energy leaps.

All he had to do was raise his hand.

Tremble. Tremble. Tremble.

The blade in his right arm trembled before disappearing.

"Agh?"

Confusion covered Alexia’s face as she tried to understand what had happened.

"GROON!"

A painful growl sounded from above as all the monsters, without exception, raised their eyes.

The imaginary blade that had just been in Adam’s grip pierced the giant bird, releasing a stream of blood.

Moreover, the imaginary blade did not stop there. It continued to move and cut the monsters until their wounds became too serious.

As a result, the mutilated body collapsed to the ground, not far from the previously defeated beast.

Tap.

Cutting through the wind, the imaginary blade returned to Adam’s hand, and there was no sign of fatigue on his face.

Step.

Adam stepped forward as the monsters moved aside. Their confidence in defeating the lone Phantom evaporated. No one wanted to be Adam’s next target.

They did not know that the moment Adam used this ability, he had decided that no one would leave the snow expanse alive.

"All enemies will be defeated," Adam said to himself as he leaned forward.

Whoooooooooosh.

Like a wild whirlwind, Adam rushed forward, finding himself among the white wolves that had tried to attack him several times but failed.

Now, they had the opportunity to pounce on him with the whole pack.

"GRH!!!"

The white wolf bared its teeth as the purple blade reflected in its eyes.

Blood spurted out as the wolves’ heads flew upward. With one swing, Adam took the lives of three beasts, decapitating them.

Step.

Adam stomped on the ground, raising a wave of snow, before moving in the other direction.

The five monsters standing in his way tried to flee, but before they could understand what was happening, Adam had already rushed through them, leaving a trail of corpses behind.

Vaarh narrowed his eyes.

’This is not good. If he continues at this pace, it won’t be three minutes before he kills every monster here. No, the problems will start even sooner. If he kills another dozen or two, the rest will realize they have no chance against him. They will think Adam is invincible.’

That was not what Vaarh wanted to achieve. His goal was to wear Adam and Alexia down so that he could defeat them easily later.

"I see..." Vaarh muttered as he swung his spear. "My main plan didn’t work, it’s time to move on to the backup."

Whoooooooosh.

Like a ghost, Adam moved among the ice peaks, seeing his next target ahead of him—the bull, which, despite its size, was already trying to run away.

While Adam was in this state, no one wanted to face him, not even such powerful monsters.

But Adam was unstoppable.

Another second and his blades would reach the bull, ending its life.

Clang!

At the same moment, Vaarh appeared in front of Adam as his blades crashed directly into an iron spear.

"Enough of carnage."

Adam narrowed his eyes.

"I’ve only just begun!"
