Chapter 719: Alter’s Reward

“That was amazing, Alex,” Lavinia said as she held her lover’s hands. “Your song touched my heart.”

“Really?” Alex smiled.

“Yes. It was wonderful.”

“Of course. I sang with everything I had, you know?”

Latifa, Evangeline, Nessia, Princess Xenia, Mary, Eleanora, and the rest of Latifa’s Alters looked at Lavinia in disbelief.

They were still writhing, tremendously suffering. All of them. No exception. Alex’s voice itself was a calamity.

“Hey, is this what they call ‘love is deaf’?” Lulu whispered in Lumi’s ear.

“Isn’t it supposed to be ‘love is blind’?” Lumi corrected.

The two were whispering to each other, while the rest of Alex’s lovers all silently agreed that they should just forget what happened.

At least for now.

Latifa and Evangeline also had a serious discussion. They unanimously agreed to ask Alex not to sing on any special occasion. Actually, they need to make sure he would never ever sing at all.

At that moment, the fox lady suddenly remembered her mother’s complaint about her picking a boyfriend whose singing voice could deal serious damage to a Rank 8 being like her.

Back then, Latifa thought her mother was just exaggerating.

It was, in fact, not an exaggeration. Lady Evarisse was being for real!

After returning to the inn right after the competition ended, all the students and the professors made an excuse to rest in their rooms.

They should be having another celebratory party to congratulate Astrea and Alex for winning their respective divisions.

However, for the sake of everyone’s sanity, they decided to reschedule the celebrations for after the Inter-Academy Tournament had officially ended.

There were still two days to go. They just had to endure until then.

While Alex was feeling good after hearing Lavinia’s praises, behind closed doors, his name was already being spoken in hushed whispers as if he were ‘he-who-must-not-be-named’.

The musical students now understood why Professor Arienna purposefully banned Alex from going to the music hall to join everyone in musical practice.

Had he joined them once, perhaps all of them would’ve been traumatized. Perhaps they would’ve lost their passion for music. Then the academy would have no candidates to send to the Kingdom of Faelarun.

In the end, they silently thanked their Music Professor for protecting their sanity.

After having dinner with his lovers, Alex eventually returned to his room.

Dim Dim was currently with Lapiz because the young lady was worried about the little bun, who seemed to still be in a daze.

No matter how gently she shook and called out its name, Dim Dim remained unresponsive. It had fainted with its eyes open, so she decided to take it with her until it recovered.

The moment he closed the door to his room, Alex stripped off his clothes and went to the bath to take a shower.

It had been a long day, and he wanted to freshen up a bit before going to sleep.

He was quite curious about the weird looks the other students were giving him after the Battle Choir ended. However, since Lavinia kept on praising him for how wonderful his voice sounded, he thought that they might just be wondering why he was so talented in singing.

He wasn’t aware that while he was singing, somewhere in the Multiverse, the Tone-Deaf God gave him a thumbs-up and said, “That’s my boy!”

The God had taken a great liking to Alex, as well as the little fairies who were smitten with his singing.

He even thought that the fairies were like-minded comrades who truly understood what talent was all about!

When Alex stepped out of the bathroom and was drying his hair with a towel, he sensed the familiar presence inside his room.

And, just as expected, Lotte was waiting for him, holding a towel in her hands.

As if coming to an understanding, Alex sat on the bed and allowed the young lady to help dry his hair.

Lotte had been very helpful to him lately, making sure that all of his needs were being taken care of.

Because of this, Alex felt that the two of them had gotten closer.

“All done,” Lotte said before hugging Alex’s head, giving it a light pat. “Congratulations on winning the Battle Choir.”

“Thank you,” Alex replied.

But Lotte pulled away after a few seconds, for she sensed someone else coming.

As if on cue, Lumi passed through the wall of Alex’s room, only to see the young man and Lotte together.

She was holding a small bottle, which contained a special oil that could help relieve muscle tension.

“I’m going to give you a massage,” Lumi said as if this was a perfectly normal thing to say to a young man who only had a bath towel wrapped around his waist. “You should be honored that I’m doing this for you.”

Alex couldn’t help but smile. Lumi was being Lumi once again. But he felt quite happy because Latifa’s Alters were growing even closer to him, which was something he was thankful for.

Latifa always paid extra attention to Lulu, whom she didn’t allow to approach Alex so easily.

She had a feeling that if the beautiful woman had her way, she would eat Alex whole until there was nothing left for her and her two remaining Alters.

A few minutes later, the young man sighed.

“Hah… now this is the life,” Alex muttered with satisfaction while Lumi massaged his back and Lotte massaged his legs.

It didn’t take long before his soft sleeping breath reached their ears.

“It seems like he was really tired,” Lotte commented.

“Maybe we were just that good at giving a massage. Maybe it was so relaxing that he fell asleep.” Lumi commented, still moving her hands across Alex’s back until they reached his hips.

Without even a hint of hesitation, she lowered the bath towel a bit because she also needed to massage his glutes.

Lotte didn’t make any comment on it as she continued to massage Alex’s other leg. However, after massaging his back, shoulders, and legs, there were still some places that needed their tender loving care.

And just as Lotte expected, Lumi didn’t hesitate to flip Alex over like a pancake. However, she did it very gently so that he wouldn’t wake up.

And thus, Lotte and Lumi continued their massage. This was their way of rewarding Alex for working hard in the tournament.

It was quite unfortunate because he was unaware that he might have gotten a happy ending if he had just managed to stay awake for a little bit longer.
