Chapter 743: The Parade’s Finale

Alex could only stare helplessly at the surrounding crowds, who were demanding that the Singing King and Singing Queen share a kiss with each other.

At the moment, the parade was nearly over. The floats just had to circle the grand plaza of the city, which was big enough to accommodate all the floats at once.

The one who called out to Alex and Astrea was a student from the Kingdom of Solara, who just wanted to see a little bit of excitement before the event ended.

Since one of their students had shouted for a kiss, the rest decided to join in the cheering, shouting “Kiss!”, “Kiss!”, “Kiss!” repeatedly.

And just like a domino effect, the crowd joined in on the fun and was now chanting together.

Unsurprisingly, Cassian gave Alex the “if you don’t want to die, don’t do it!” glare, which made the young man smile wryly.

However, the funny thing was that his Queen wasn’t cooperating.

“Kiss!” Astrea chanted alongside the crowd. “Kiss! Kiss! Kiss!”

Seeing that the beautiful young lady was joining in on the fun, the chanting intensified. In the end, Alex decided to give in… but on his own terms.

Soon, the young man gracefully knelt like a knight and reached out to hold Astrea’s hand.

He then planted a kiss on the back of her hand, which made the audience cheer in happiness. Although it wasn’t what they had in mind, their request was still beautifully granted.

Cassian reluctantly backed down. That much was acceptable. Barely. He understood that Alex did the right thing, despite the egging of the crowd around him.

Alex’s lovers were also amused with this result.

Suddenly, the crowd’s cheer intensified when they saw the blue slime plant a kiss on Dim Dim’s cheek, taking the little bun by surprise.

Dim Dim blinked once, then twice before giggling in return. A very late reaction, but a reaction nevertheless.

Lily and Cupid, who were both watching from the crowd, exchanged a glance with each other before doing a high five.

They were only waiting for the event to end so they could send Eiko back to the place where she needed to go.

The two rarely left the Celestial Realm, but they enjoyed this outing very much since they got to spend time with Dim Dim and watch it have fun with everyone.

An hour later, the parade finally came to an end. Everyone who participated was invited to a special lunch where the King of Faelarun himself would be present.

“Thank you everyone for making this tournament very special,” King Aerindir said with a smile before raising his glass. “And I hope you all enjoyed your stay here. You are more than welcome to visit anytime. The Kingdom of Faelarun will give you our best hospitality.”

Professor Rowan smiled faintly as he took a drink from his glass.

Frieden Academy had been the overall winner of this year’s tournament, so he was very proud of his students.

He conveniently forgot the fact that Alex’s diabolical singing had won the academy the Battle Choir Trophy.

King Faelarun’s gaze scanned the faces of everyone gathered there. His gaze lingered on Alex’s face a few seconds longer than usual before he shifted his attention to someone else.

Aeris had told him that Alex was considered a troublemaker in the academy, just like his roommate, Chuck.

Lapiz, on the other hand, defended Alex and told her father that he was a very good person who cared for his friends and lovers.

As for Prince Kael, he also told his father about Alex’s good side, which he had seen during their exchange in Frieden Academy.

The sisters purposely left out the information about Hy-Brasil from their father since they couldn’t risk Alex being captured, which might delay the rescue of their mother on the mysterious island that only appeared once every seven years.

‘Tomorrow,’ Lapiz thought. ‘I will see Mother again tomorrow.’

Aeris was also thinking the same thing, so this time, she behaved and no longer did anything that might put Alex in the spotlight.

After the lunch ended, Alex and the rest were instantly teleported to the inn where they were staying by Professor Rowan.

The young man headed to his room, while Dim Dim followed Eiko to bid her goodbye.

It didn’t know when it would see its best friend again. Especially since Eiko had just told the little bun that she was busy dealing with Outer Worlders who were trying to invade their universe.

Fortunately, Dim Dim wasn’t too ignorant of the current situation since it was part of the God’s Chatgroup.

“Bye Bye! Eiko!”

“Bye Bye, Dim Dim!”

It simply supported its best friend and told her to be careful.

Just as Eiko was about to be taken away by Lily, the little bun took the initiative to kiss her cheek before pulling back.

The little bun smiled innocently, thinking that it did a good thing.

Eiko smiled back at her best friend in return and allowed Lily to pick her up.

“We’ll come and play again when we’re free.” Cupid smirked and gave the little bun a salute. “Until then, be safe, Dim Dim!”

“Dim Dim!” Dim Dim returned the salute and watched as its friends disappeared from its sight.

The little bun didn’t leave its place right away, continuing to stare at the sky for a few more seconds.

It was currently on the rooftop of the inn they were staying at, ready to return to Alex’s room anytime.

Meanwhile, in Alex’s room…

“Finally. It’s over,” Alex said in an exhausted tone while Lotte helped him remove his clothes.

The young lady folded his clothes properly, placing them on top of Alex’s bed to be washed at a later time.

“You did well, Alex,” Lotte said while folding Alex’s pants. “Even that kiss at the end was done gracefully.”

The young man, who was only wearing his underwear, nodded in agreement before picking up the new set of clothes Lotte had given him to wear.

It didn’t take him long to finish dressing up in more comfortable clothes before sitting on the bed to hug the fox lady, who had taken good care of him during his stay in the Kingdom of Faelarun.

“I am very thankful for your help as always, Lotte,” Alex said. “If possible, I’d like to give you a reward. What would you like to have? A request is also fine.”

“Hmm…” Lotte pondered a bit while hugging Alex back. “How about a date when we get back? Just the two of us.”

“Consider it done.” Alex smiled happily. “It will be my honor to take you out on a date.”

“Good.” Lotte nodded. “Though, we first need to return from Hy-Brasil safely in order to do that. So, make sure that you don’t get hurt there.”

“I’ll do my best,” Alex replied. “You should also do your best to keep yourself safe. I don’t know what is waiting for us in Hy-Brasil. All I know is that Lapiz and Aeris’ mother is currently there.”

“Family is important.” Lotte agreed. “They have not seen each other for seven years, so letting them have a reunion is the greatest gift you can give to those sisters. Who knows? That might also help you get closer to Lapiz.”

Alex didn’t say anything and simply smiled faintly.

He had already made up his mind not to become too greedy when it came to love.

Tomorrow, they would set sail toward a mysterious island, whose secrets were still unknown.

Whether their mission would end in triumph or tragedy, Alex knew that none of them would return as the same people before their journey began.
