Chapter 803: The Return Of The King [Part 2]

“Vaan, do it!” Reverse Alex commanded.

Without wasting a second, Reverse Vaan pressed his hands together. “Come forth and aid your King!”

In that instant, a grand magic circle appeared in the sky. A few seconds later, countless black knights riding on black pegasi descended from the magic circle.

This was Reverse Alex’s army. They were magic soldiers born from alchemy and magic. The weakest of them were Rank 5 Knights, while the strongest were around Rank 7.

They had prepared a lot for this invasion. This army was supposed to help them fight the armies of the different kingdoms in the world once they secured Hy-Brasil as their base.

However, Reverse Alex and his companions didn’t expect that they would be forced to use their trump card this early, nor that they would be up against a Rank 9 opponent.

“You combined living armors and golems,’ King Aetherion said in an amused tone. “Whoever made this must be proficient in both alchemy and rune magic. With these numbers, it probably took you a few years to build this army. What a shame. All of that effort will soon turn to dust.”

Reverse Alex dove down from the sky, and soon, a pair of black flaming wings unfurled behind his back.

Reverse Chuck and Reverse Vaan then flew beside him, while the ladies took battle formation, joining their Knight Army to fight against a single opponent.

They all knew that the flying army was no match against King Aetherion. If anything, their purpose was simply to distract him so they could engage him in battle as a team.

“Attack the city!” Reverse Alex ordered coldly. “Leave no one alive except those I told you to spare!”

The Knight Army followed his orders without hesitation, spreading out into countless teams of six to wreak havoc on Everdawn City.

“A sound plan,” King Aetherion said calmly. “Ganelon, I’ll leave the rest to you.”

The Elven King then summoned a staff and planted its end firmly on the ground.

Reverse Latifa cast a blessing on her allies and debuffs on King Aetherion. She would play the supporting role in this battle, making sure that all their bases were covered.

However, she noticed something immediately after casting debuffs on the Elven King.

Her buffs faded before they could even reach their target.

Then, it happened.

King Aetherion spoke a word.

A single word.

And the moment he did, the magical staff in his hand unleashed a blinding light.

“Judgment.”

It was a wide-area offensive skill that unleashed countless light arrows at those whom King Aetherion deemed his enemies.

With that, the Knight Army was decimated by a barrage of silver arrows, piercing through their bodies like railguns before continuing to hit those behind them.

This spell was King Aetherion’s trademark spell, meant for annihilating large armies without destroying the topography of the land.

It was also the spell that the Demon Army feared the most because this was a divine spell that automatically locked onto its targets without fail!

Reverse Alex swung his sword, summoning a black dragon made up of dark flames, tanking the barrage of silver arrows that would have pierced through ordinary defenses.

King Aetherion remained calm as he stared at the black dragon moving in his direction.

Soon, a single silver arrow appeared in front of him. This arrow swiftly increased in size, only stopping after it had become as big as a ten-story tower.

Without even a single word leaving his lips, this giant silver arrow flew straight and true, piercing through the black dragon and dispersing it completely.

Suddenly, a loud explosion boomed across the heavens as Reverse Vaan used his chariot to block the attack that was headed in their direction.

Black smoke spread across the heavens, blocking King Aetherion’s view.

However, it didn’t take long for Reverse Alex and Reverse Chuck to fly past the smokescreen.

“Obliterate!” Reverse Alex roared as he swung his sword once more. “Black Tempest!”

“Burn everything in my path!” Reverse Chuck shouted. “Fire Dragon!”

Soon, black flames alongside a Fire Dragon descended toward the Elven King with fury.

“Bunch of kids.” King Aetherion scoffed at the sight. “In this day and age, what kind of person would still announce the name of their attack? Do you really need to chant such low-level attacks? Pathetic worms.”

He then tapped the end of his staff on the ground, activating a magic circle without saying a chant.

And from that magic circle, Astrea appeared, her eyes glowing with power.

“The time has come, beloved,” King Aetherion said softly. “It’s time for these kids to hear your roar.”

In response, Astrea raised her head toward the heavens and opened her soft and seductive lips.

And from her lips, a sound emerged.

Calling it the sound of a single thunderclap would not do justice to this scene.

If anything, it sounded more like countless thunder booming at the same time.

Like the sky itself was about to be split apart by an invisible blade that could cut through time and space.

She was none other than Queen Elyndra Sylvarin.

King Aetherion’s wife and Dragon Companion.

The moment Astrea’s roar erupted, the entire battlefield fell silent.

Though not because the sound had stopped.

But because the sheer magnitude of it had drowned everything else.

The heavens began to tremble.

The clouds above Everdawn City were blown apart by the roar, revealing the blue sky beyond them.

The barrier protecting the city rippled violently, then shattered into countless glass pieces that fell like hail to the ground.

And in that world that became devoid of noise after that deafening roar, Astrea’s body transformed into a Silver Dragon towering over twelve meters tall.

Soon, her gaze locked onto the invaders, who were all falling to the ground as if they were puppets whose strings had been cut.

In the meantime, high above the Celestial Realm, a soft sigh escaped The Hermit’s lips.

He had especially designed this trial for one thing and one thing only.

To create a trap for the invaders from another world. However, there were specific conditions that must be met in order for his plan to work.

Someone who managed to defy destiny at least once must make his way to Hy-Brasil and allow his body to be used as a vessel by the Elven King, the only one capable of facing off against a strong opponent that could otherwise threaten the balance of the world.

The King had returned.

And with his return, the world of Arcana had finally gained a champion that could protect it from the ambition of those who didn’t belong to their world.
