Chapter 2212: Meeting The People From Another World

"I fought against Chaos and Pandemonium, two resurrected primordial evils from the past," Drake spoke. "Thanks to my family and friends and our combined efforts, we triumphed and defeated them both. However, the battle created an incredible cataclysm within Yggdrasil’s dimensional pillars, nearly causing a large part of the world to collapse."

"T-That’s terrible... so that’s why there were so many tremors a few weeks ago?" Celene was shocked. "To think that was what was happening... The children had a very hard time sleeping back then..."

"The entire world would have been destroyed if I had taken even another minute fighting and defeating them," Drake lamented. "But for now, they’re gone... I helped their helpless souls reincarnate. The damage to the world remains, though. It is slowly repairing itself, using the two other worlds most adjacent to its dimensional pillars to fill in the gaps. This is why this strange Dimensional Convergence is happening."

"..." Celene understood most of it. She even remembered that her mother once told her about the primordial evils, Chaos and Pandemonium, from ancient times when she wasn’t born yet.

"I fear something bad may happen. Those zombies are strange," Drake said. "And the people may have a key to help us understand them and how to solve this mess... and they’re also connected to a few members of my group."

"..."

Celene remained silent, looking down at the floor, her eyebrows furrowing as she gripped her fists tightly.

When she saw her children, she quickly gained even more resolve.

Perhaps she was afraid before, but talking with Drake had alleviated her heart. What he did for her with her grandmother had only made her more confident he was a good man.

Someone worth following.

And fighting for.

"Celene?" Drake wondered.

"Please... if there’s anything I could help with... let me help," Celene said.

"Eh?! But weren’t you going to take care of the children?" Drake asked.

"Of course, and I’ll continue doing so," Celene nodded. "But... if this entire city ends up destroyed, then there would be little point, right?"

"I guess..." Drake nodded. "I have a divine realm. We could leave them there for safety if you wish."

"That sounds good... although they may not take it well," Celene sighed. "But for now, let’s see if something bad happens or not... you’re going to fix those spatial cracks, right?"

"That’s the plan," Drake nodded. "Yeah."

"Stay here, and if something happens, I’ll go with you," Celene said. "I have already considered bringing the children across the world so they could see all of it. Mortals have short lives, so I want them to see everything we take for granted as dragons. I want to make them really happy."

"I see! You’re indeed a really good person, Celene," Drake laughed. "All of you are very lucky to have her, huh? You better call her mother from now on. She’s indeed your mama, you know?"

"Really?!"

"Mama!"

"So we don’t call her big sis then?"

"I always saw her as mama anyway."

"Children..." Celene blushed as she giggled a little while they swarmed her. She hugged all of them with her arms and wings.

While Drake remained there with Celene on standby, his true body delved deeper into the underground prison within the Vanagate Kingdom’s Castle.

"There’s no need to keep them prisoners here. These are normal people," Drake said angrily as he saw the humans inside the prison cells. The soldiers looked at Drake nervously.

"We apologize, but these were simply the orders of the king and queen..."

"Indeed, we have little say in these things. We are only doing our job..."

"Hm, I guess you’re not wrong," Drake sighed. "Hello, everyone. Are you alright? Have you been kept well fed?"

Drake walked toward the people, greeting them with eyes filled with concern.

They had been living here for a couple of days already, and their living conditions didn’t look to be the best.

"W-Who are you?"

"A giant?!"

"He’s blue!"

"A new zombie?"

"Mutant! He can speak!"

"Mutant? Zombie? I’m none of that!" Drake facepalmed. "Have you people not come to the realization you’re in another world right now?"

"A-another world...?"

"Right, someone said something about that..."

"Ugh, Zombies, Mutants, Espers... somehow being sent to another world isn’t that surprising actually!"

"Mama, I’m hungry... Buaaaahhh!"

Among the sarcastic remarks, there were also children crying because they were hungry.

Drake looked at Benladann and Miranda.

"Can you check if there’s any virus or infection?" he asked.

"I think I can. Let me see," Miranda said, looking everywhere through the large cells where dozens of people were kept. "Huh... there’s some. Three... five... ten people are infected! They have a weird little parasite inside of them. They’re not aware."

"Extracting the parasites would be pretty dangerous. They could die," Benladann said. "But... with Benladra here, it shouldn’t really be an issue."

"Leave it to me. I can heal everyone!" Benladra nodded.

The people were confused, but as soon as they heard that ten were infected, they started to panic, screaming at one another and blaming each other.

They were really humanity at their worst.

"Calm down! You should calm down! People! We are not going to solve anything like this!"

BANG!

Suddenly, the loud commotion came to a sudden halt as a tall, muscular man stepped forward. With short black hair, a short beard, and sharp blue eyes, he wore a tight black t-shirt, jeans, and brown leather boots. He had several belts wrapped around his waist and chest, carrying firearms.

The loud sound of a gun shooting the ceiling echoed, which had silenced everyone. They glanced at this one man in particular as he looked back at Drake and company with eyes filled with intrigue.

"You said you could see the parasite?" he asked. "How’s that possible? Magic from this world or something? Are you Espers?"

"Technically..." Miranda said. "We did gain psychic abilities that helped us detect the parasite."

"So that’s it..." the man said. "Hm..."

"..." Benladann remained silent as she looked at him and then lowered her head.

She knew him from somewhere. She recognized him.

And he knew.
