Chapter 2254: Hydra, The Eccentric Death Dragon

"I know, they told me about it, but I intended not to go on my own... however, if you’re here, then there’s no point in not going. If the world is going to end anyway, there is no place for me to hide," Hydra sighed. "And now that my home is about to be invaded, I would rather go help my siblings and my grandmother."

"See? He’s not a coward," Drake said, glaring at everyone else. "Anyway, I wish we could have gotten to know one another better but..."

"Heh, no worries! We can get to do that once we save the world!" Hydra smiled through all his faces. "You want this? I prepared it ahead of time and synthesized it into a super elixir, drink it!"

Hydra threw a large bottle of over ten liters of red liquid, an elixir made out of his blood, which Drake grabbed and ate whole, glass and all, opening his giant maws and swallowing.

FLAAASH!

The instant he did, the power of Gluttony automatically digested it, and the power of the Death Dragon Bloodline finally flowed through his entire being, making his eyes glow with phantasmal flames.

He felt the element of Death flowing within him, renewed and empowered to new levels, at the same time as this new bloodline rapidly flowed through him, helping him attain immense power.

Ding!

[You have consumed the [Death Dragon Blood Elixir]!]

[The power of the Bloodline of Death Dragons now flows through your entire being!]

[Your Bloodline: [Phantom Dragon (S) (Unique) (Awakened)] has evolved and ranked up into the [Death Dragon (SSS) (Awakened)] Bloodline!]

[Your Phantom and Death Elemental Affinities have merged into the [Spectral Death (SSS)] Elemental Affinity!]

He was almost there... but still, he was missing a few key components that shouldn’t be needed, if it weren’t because they were still somehow recognized as required bloodlines.

Chaos Dragons, Vampire Dragons, and Demon Dragons.

All three of these bloodlines had yet to fully develop, but that was about to change now, as Drake quickly took out two other bottles with the dragon blood of Benladann and Drakda, which he drank.

He had saved them until the last moment because he needed the Death Dragon Bloodline first, their power necessary to complete the original elements before going for the new ones.

And...

FLAAASH!

He felt it once more, the power of his bloodlines rapidly evolving and elevating anew... Drakda counted as a demon dragon, chaos dragon, and vampire dragon, helping Drake’s bloodlines rapidly grow.

Even though the boy was his own son and therefore should have his own bloodline, that wasn’t entirely the case, as he was born with his own unique mutations and special powers that his father didn’t have, inherited from his mother.

Ding!

[You have consumed the [Blood Elixir of Chaos Dragons] and the [Blood Elixir of Demonic Vampire Chaos Dragons]!]

[The power of these bloodlines now flows through every inch of your veins, overflowing with new power like never before.]

[You have Awakened the Bloodline: [Chaos Dragon (SSS) (Awakened)]!]

[You have Awakened the Elemental Affinity: [Chaos (SSS)]!]

[You have Awakened the Bloodline: [Demonic Dragon (SSS) (Awakened)]!]

[ERROR...]

[Incapable of fully assimilating Vampire Dragon Bloodline, Blood Dragon Bloodline requires larger samples of pure Vampire Blood to evolve further.]

Drake felt content with the results, but his face quickly twisted in slight concern at the last message. It seemed that he had almost everything except Vampire Dragons.

The dragons created by the Vampire Venerable through Sangre, an old and monstrous, artificial dragon that should never have existed, made merely as an experiment by him long ago.

Drake was technically one, but not "pure" enough as Sangre was.

"Alright, I feel stronger now... almost there!" Drake nodded. "Thank you, Hydra, will you join us?"

"I have to, there’s no other option either way!" Hydra sighed. "Well, while we are at it, why don’t I show you a nice trick? You see, despite being a Death Dragon, I specialize in Alchemy! And this tower here, it’s technically my own synthesized creation, fueled by pure Alchemy Magic alone!"

FLAAASH!

The entire tower suddenly divided into countless fragments, rapidly merging with Fuyu’s body and making her even grander, coated by black-colored bricks, overflowing with phantasmal flames, and increasing her size tenfold.

The interior of the ship was refurbished as well, and Hydra’s laboratories spread through several floors, as part of the tower seemed to emerge from the middle of the black, phantasmal ship.

"Ooohhh?! I feel much stronger now!" Fuyu said. "Incredible! What is this?!"

"I have synthesized and temporarily merged my tower with you, talking ship made of ice!" Hydra laughed. "Haha! See? This is the power of Alchemy!"

"Amazing!" Drake said. "Fuyu, Charlotte, let’s quickly resume our travel, we have to get there as soon as possible!"

"On it!" Charlotte roared, her powers flowing through the titanic vessel, as it blitzed through the skies.

"We took too long!" Augustus complained. "Damn it, and you say you’re a master of Alchemy or something? Really?"

"I’ve been diligently studying Alchemy for the last five thousand years, so yes!" Hydra nodded. "I wasn’t aware there were already some revived Venerables..."

"Hmph, well, you better believe it, five-headed lizard," Augustus groaned, his temper as quick as the other dwarves Drake had met. "So tell me, what did you see over there?"

"Yeah!" Drake said. "We need as much info as we can get."

"In the vortex? I wasn’t able to see everything completely..." Hydra said. "So I can’t say for sure, but there were things there, yeah. A lot of weird things... There was a strange palace, a mass of flesh and tentacles, and what seemed to be a gigantic portal to a realm of endless... specters, like nothing I had ever seen before. From there, these specters poured endlessly, part of them rushing to Vanaheim."

"I see..." Drake nodded. "Did you see any living being there?"

"There’s a strange barrier created by the vortex itself. Piercing it on my own was impossible, so I couldn’t go or see further below," Hydra said.

"That’s okay..." Drake sighed. "We’re getting closer...!"
