Chapter 3088  Cyclical

Alex examined the Origin that started glowing with a dull yellow color now. It was not as vibrant as the one covered in Yellow Fog, but it was getting there. He could feel the aura within it, something that was close to the tree, but at the same time different enough that he wasn't sure if his Creation would come out to become a tree.

He knew there were some things that were better left shapeless, and some things that had to be given shape.

A chunk of metal would do someone no good if it were to be turned into a Creation. Even if one found just the metal, they could use its aura to shape it into a sword or spear and use it accordingly.

However, such a thing was the case with non-living sources. Living Creations, such as plants and animals, didn't give one such luxury and became what the aura was taken from.

Since Alex was unsure if his Origin was going to form into a tree or not, he was going to force it into forming a tree. By that method, whether it was going to form a tree to start with or not, it was going to end up a tree in the end.

Continuing his examination, Alex determined that he was maybe five percent done with the total Transcendence. At this rate, it would take a dozen and a half more of these sessions to completely transcend it.

And that was only because he had an ever-flowing source of aura that continuously filled his Origin. If the source wasn't as potent, it probably wouldn't work.

'I can't do this,' he thought. 'I have to merge my cultivation sessions with my transcendence sessions. It might be fine if I was doing it for just one Creation, but I need to do it for all.'

Seven of his Origins needed filling—six if he ignored the one that the Yellow Fog was covering. If he wasn't wrong, while it wasn't done, it was being filled on the regular with some aura already that the Yellow Fog was protecting from being leaked.

'What if it's the Yellow Fog itself?' he thought. 'God, that would mean I have one other Creation to make. Hopefully, I'm wrong and it's something else.'

It did feel like something else, but Alex had no way of explaining why except for his feelings.

"So, I have three Origins started on. I have the Pill and Yellow Fog to get to once I get the technique from Bai Jingshen. I don't know what to do with the Sun Creation. The Void I'll have to get to later when I'm elsewhere, probably in the Sun's Talon realm. And I don't know what to do with my last Creation."

He still wanted something to do with tribulation lightnings, but should he go with Pill Lightning or Immortal Tribulation Lightning? He could get to both if he really wanted to, but the decision needed to be made.

'At the rate I'm going, I probably don't need to make the decision immediately. But if I want to break through to the next realm, I should.'

Even though he had no need to hurry in improving his cultivation base, he couldn't let his physical strength dwarf him forever.

'I can probably improve my body cultivation by a couple more realms while I consume the Elixir, but after that, I won't have any. I'll need some other way to continue,' he thought.

Alex stood up now that he had thought things through, deciding to take a short break before continuing with another Creation.

Alex walked out of the room, a strangeness filling him as he took his steps. He frowned slightly, noticing the minute change in his body that had nothing to do with the lack of the beasts or his filling Origins.

Instead, it was a strange bit of coolness that seemed to permeate him.

Realizing something, Alex stopped in his tracks and quickly sent his senses into his Dantian and noticed the change within it.

His neutral Qi, which previously contained vigorous Yang aura that came from his own body and the Yang Source, as well as his Yin aura that came from the frigid Yin bead, was now leaning slightly on the side of Yin.

It wasn't so much that he had to worry, but the change was something to be concerned about.

'The Yang Source is depleting?' he thought in surprise. He should have realized something of that note would've happened when it first began sending out its aura. There was only a limited amount of it within his Dantian, after all. And all this time, all it had done was passively help suppress the excess Yin that came from the Yin bead.

When his body had begun expelling excess Yang aura from within him, he had taken in a lot of Yin to improve his Yin bead. However, if he were to now use up his Yang Source, it would tip the scale in favor of the Yin bead, which would be no different than poison to his body.

'That's bad,' Alex thought, unsure what he was even supposed to do in this situation. He couldn't not absorb its aura into his Origin since he knew it was good, but if he did that, he would be letting the Yin bead contaminate his Qi.

'The only way to suppress the Yin bead is to improve my own Yang aura, but that will require me to break through to the next cultivation base, which will require me to fill up my Origin, which is where this issue started to begin with,' Alex thought, slowly realizing that his issue was cyclical.

It was unlikely a couple of breakthroughs were going to make his Qi stronger than the Yin bead, so once the Yang Source was gone, he was doomed.

He thought for a moment, and then his frown left his face as he came to a conclusion.

'I need to get rid of the Yin bead somehow,' he thought.

The only way to get out of the cycle was to break it.
