Chapter 3257 Trial 8

Chapter 3257 Trial 8

Alex stepped on the platform, feeling a pulse go through him. He was the first one there. He looked down at the images on the

black-and-white dais, seeing that it was still the Dragon Father and the Phoenix Mother, if that was the image to begin with.

He stepped aside and brought out a pill to eat as he waited for Pearl and Scarlet to complete as well.

Once the two beasts stepped onto the platform, they moved away and sat to the side where they rested. They should've been happy that they passed, but all they could feel at that moment was fatigue.

In a way, this was the trial that had taken the most out of them. Even Alex was weakened quite a bit.

As they rested, Wu Tanglan reached the platform as well, standing above it as he sent an unhidden glare in their direction.

Alex met the glare, saying nothing as he just watched. The monkey walked directly toward them.

Pearl and Scarlet turned toward him, a little apprehensive of the beast.

"How did you do it?" the monkey asked.

"How did I do what, senior?" Alex asked.

"How did you pass it so easily?"

Alex blinked. "Thank you for the compliment if I made it look easy, senior. But believe me, it was far from easy!"

"Don't bullshit me. I saw it all. You fought countless birds that came for your group, but not a single one of them was for you," he said. "I sensed you with my own Divine sense, and it was as if you were never there to begin with. How did you do it?"

Wu Tanglan looked ferocious when he stopped speaking, his chest

rising and falling as he waited for Alex's answer.

Alex could only shrug in response, however. "It's a technique of mine."

"Give it to me," the monkey demanded.

Alex narrowed his eyes. "No, I won't."

Divine realm aura crashed onto him instantly, making him stumble backward. Pearl and Scarlet panicked, both standing up, but Alex stopped them.

Slowly, Alex pushed through the pressure and stood up, staring directly into the monkey's eyes. "Do you think you can force me to reveal my secrets, senior?" he asked. "If you think so, you can try."

The monkey's eyes were wide in shock, unable to understand how Alex could ignore the pressure from his cultivation base. Thankfully, instead of pressing forward, he retracted his aura and stepped back.

"I'll see how brave you are after the trial is over," the monkey said, leaving. Only after it was gone far enough did Pearl and Scarlet finally react.

"Are you okay, brother?"

"Did he hurt you?"

"I'm fine," Alex answered as he gave them a smile. "He can't hurt me so long as we're in the trial. All he can do is pressure me, and that won't work on me. So the only thing he can do is wait for us to be done with the trial. And I have no plans on failing."

They could only agree. Even if Alex did somehow fail, so long as he wasn't attacked on the way back, he would still do fine. Even if he was attacked, he could surely survive thanks to his Undying Physique until he made it back to where Bai Jingshen was.

They looked toward the rest of the beasts and saw that only one was still trying to continue. It was a large green crane with a red head that was using its spiritual attacks to fight the birds. But it was only halfway through, and by then, the number of birds was already

starting to overwhelm it.

It was certain that the crane would fail to anyone who was watching. An hour later, the crane gave up.

It didn't dare to try and see if it could defeat the birds since even if only a few of them managed to survive, it would die. So it only made sense for it to give up.

With the last of the beasts giving up, the 7th trial came to an end as well.

Not even a few minutes later, the master of the trial reappeared, giving its announcement.

"Only 4 of you have passed. Only you 4 shall move on to the next trial."

It disappeared, saying nothing else.

Alex and the rest had to wait for some time, which Alex appreciated. The delayed time allowed for him to recover his Qi and spiritual energy. After 2 hours or so had passed, the next island appeared out of the smog.

When it met with the current island, the ones who passed moved on. The others remained behind, having passed 7 trials in total.

The new island was a forest. This was the first trial that was in a forest, which surprised Alex and the others a little. Their senses were free to roam, so Pearl and Scarlet searched through the forest, trying to figure out what the trial this time would be.

Alex didn't have to do that. He could just see the plants right at the very edge of the forest and knew what the trial was going to be. Wu Tanglan, similarly, had been through the same trial before, so he was aware of what was happening as well.

The fiery bird appeared again, arriving behind the four.

"Your next trial is to navigate this forest of poisonous plants and arrive at the center. Only 2 of you may pass this trial. You have a single day

to do so."

Alex frowned slightly, realizing that either Pearl or Scarlet were going to have to fail this time around. It wasn't possible for both of them to

continue on.

He was about to say something when he froze. He turned toward the bird that still flew in the sky, surprised that it hadn't gone away after

explaining the situation.

The bird continued speaking. "For the 8th trial, you have another option as well."

The ground began shaking just then as the bird revealed to the participants their other option.
