Chapter 3294 Accept It
Chapter 3294 Accept It
Shumi could feel the Moon Goddess' power surrounding her, strong to a point where she had never sensed anything like this before. She could not imagine what having power like this would feel like.
And she wasn't willing to learn that just yet.
The power lingered around Shumi, but not inside. She did not give her permission to the Moon Goddess.
"Accept it. Only then can my power enter you."
"As long as you answer my questions," Shumi said, remaining clearheaded. "What exactly is this power? This isn't Qi from what I sense, and there is no elemental aura within it."
"This is the power of the gods," the Moon Goddess answered. "It is unique to us all."
Shumi raised an eyebrow. "I have read about a certain form of power that only a few people have," she said. "The demons don't have it for some reason, but the humans do. Those with this power are called Half-Gods. Is this the same?"
"This is better, purer," the Moon Goddess said. "Accept it."
"What happens if I accept it?" Shumi asked.
"The power will flow into you," the Moon Goddess said. "It will separate into two. The majority of it will remain in your Dantian. And a portion will go into your Spiritual Sea, wherein it will fill your Origin, allowing me to be reborn there as your Creation."
Shumi raised an eyebrow. "I will have you as my Creation? The Moon Goddess?"
"No. I was not the Moon Goddess during the moment of my death. As such, your Creation will be the Phoenix Mother instead. But that is still the same thing, as I will be reborn within you."
Shumi was even more surprised. She hadn't even considered gaining the Phoenix Mother as her Creation when she first noticed the corpse before her. That was a great thing, wasn't it?
At the same time, however, she was also interested in the root of the Yin Tree. Her people were so excited about her gaining that Creation. That was the reason why they allowed her to learn the Provenance Duality: Evolution technique, so that even if she failed to fully form the Tree as her Creation, the evolved version of her Creation certainly would be that.
Well, maybe she had to give up on that at this time. Hopefully, her master wouldn't be disappointed.
"You said you will be reborn into me as your Creation," Shumi said. "What does that mean? Will you exist within me?"
"In a way," the Moon Goddess said.
"In a way?" Shumi asked. "What way? Will you be in my mind, helping me along the way?"
"No," the Moon Goddess said. "When I am reborn as your Creation, your soul will have died. I will instead assume control of your body, and I shall be you."
Shumi froze for a moment. "You will take over my body?"
"Yes"
"And I will die?"
"Yes"
Shumi didn't know what to say. "I don't want to die," she said in the end. "If accepting you means I have to die, then I won't accept you."
The Moon Goddess remained silent for a long time once Shumi expressly denied her permission to take over her. She did not grow angry or try to take over her forcefully.
Instead, after a while, she spoke again.
"Do you not want the world to be better?" the Moon Goddess asked. "Is that not why you accepted their requests? You went on parades, talked to the ones down on their luck. You blessed them when they came to you, even though you knew there was nothing your empty words could do. You were just happy to know that you were making a difference in the world, even if it was a small difference"
Shumi listened to her quietly.
"When I assume your body, the difference won't be small. I will eradicate the need for all war and violence. The hungry will be fed with my power. The criminals will be brought to justice."
The Moon Goddess continued speaking.
"It was my power that created the World Tree. You understand how much it has helped the people you care for. When I become you, I will be able to grow another World Tree. Does that not matter to you?"
Shumi's body grew tense. Ever since she was taken away from the Snowing Dusk Realm, she had always been taught one thing.
The True God would bring salvation to the people. It was written in many prophecies that the True God would be the one to save the world. And they had always told her that it was her.
She was the god who would do it all. But what if they were mistaken? What if it wasn't her, but someone else who took over her body?
Would the Moon Goddess reborn be the god that would save the
world?
If that was the case, then... wasn't it the right thing to do to give up her body? She would die, but the world would be saved. She was willing to sacrifice herself for the world, was she not?
"This is for the better, Shumi," the Moon Goddess said. "Accept my power, and the world will be better for it. I will fix what was broken. I will fill that which is empty. I will put together that which is shattered."
Shumi raised an eyebrow, recalling something from her records. "Put together that which is shattered?"
"Yes," the Moon Goddess said. "When we become one, I will find the power to put this broken world back together, to reform the planet
that used to exist."
Shumi's eyes narrowed. That was a very secret piece of record that very few of the demons in the Demon Realm knew about. It was the truth that the many realms once used to be part of a single world that
had shattered.
And the god now claimed that she could put it back together.
That made her curious about something.
"Why was it broken in the first place?" Shumi asked. "Why did the planet fall apart in the way that it did?"
