Eternal Cultivation of Alchemy

Chapter 3474: A Short Conversation

Chapter 3474: A Short Conversation

Alex’s spiritual energy improved once again. What had taken a hit after storing so many living plants from the Sun’s Talon realm when he placed the islands into his Soul Space had been returned to its original state now that the hundreds of people living inside of him had been moved out.

Not only had he returned to his original state, but he had also improved a step further, nearly reaching the Divine Creation 5th realm. However, Alex didn’t believe he had reached the actual stage just yet.

The improvement came with a feeling of relief, followed by a sharper sense than before now that his own soul wasn’t bogged down by the weight of all the souls inside of his Soul Space.

Now, there were only 2 living humans in his Soul Space that weren’t in some form connected to his soul. That made everything so much easier.

Alex wondered if he would see another improvement after the Nine Yang Divine Tree had left his Soul Space, but he could only learn that once he had done it.

He returned to Raingear City with the prince, who didn’t ask him for a moment what he had done back there to bring the tribe or what the phenomenon he had created was. Even without his father’s strict warning on not asking any questions, the man was wise enough to know not to push the disciple of a Celestial and a god.

Once they arrived back at the hotel where they had been staying, the prince started a conversation with Alex, seemingly wanting to learn more about him.

Alex obliged and answered the prince’s questions with a degree of honesty that the man himself hadn’t expected from him.

Of course, he hid a lot of things that the prince didn’t need to know, but there were few times when he had to hide anything. The prince knew his limits and mostly kept his questions simple.

Alex asked his own questions, wanting to learn more about the prince and his father. He was curious how a scholarly person such as Moonspirit came to become a god.

"During the war, the gods died so frequently to the Godslayer that many were scared to take a lead and become one. My father was already well known at the time for his elixirs and wines, so when the then Sky God suggested that he become one, there was no one to object."

Alex raised an eyebrow. "So it is merely due to such a circumstantial reason that your father became a god?"

The prince chuckled. "Of course. Why else would there be a god of wine when most cultivators can’t even get drunk?" he asked. "Not to mention, there are so many other people that could become a god. The mere fact that there are only 6 gods of Weapons should prove that. There’s no Whip God, no Halberd God, no Dagger God, no Hammer God. Not even an Armor or a Shield God. You would expect those to exist, but because no one came forth when there was a lack of gods, they cannot become one now."

Alex scratched his chin as he understood the man’s words. "There can only ever be 33 gods, huh?"

The prince nodded.

"Then, let’s say there is a Dagger sage out there, who I would say is capable of defeating your father in a duel. Would he have the right to become the new Dagger God?"

"No. The only one who can defeat my father to take his place would have to be the next Wine God, since that is who my father is," the prince said. "The only way for a new god to emerge would be for an old god to die and open a spot. At that point, one could present their intention to become the next god before the Council of Gods, and if they find it acceptable, they will accept it."

"I see. So one has to wait for a god to die before they can even imagine becoming a new god, huh?"

Alex was quite surprised by that fact. He had known for a while how gods replaced each other to become the same god, but he had never realized how it was handled when it came to becoming an entirely new god.

That was why the Insect Sage hadn’t become an Insect God. There were just not enough spots open.

"When was the last spot open?" Alex asked.

"I’m not exactly sure," the man said, scratching his forehead as if in thought. "The last god I remember dying is the Alchemy God. The Hammer God died around the same time, but his death wasn’t reported for a long time, so it’s impossible to say who died later among them. That was the last time a spot had opened for the gods, which the Axe God and the Alchemy God did."

Alex slowly nodded. That was the same time Bladedance was replaced as well.

"The Divination God had been missing for a while. I’m surprised no one replaced him at all," he said.

"No one would dare even consider him to have died," the prince said with a chuckle. "How could someone who can foresee every little detail of the future not find a way to dodge his own death? It would be difficult to consider the possibility of such a person dying."

Alex slowly nodded. That did make sense.

Their chat continued for some time before Alex decided to end it there and go cultivate for some time.

"Please remember, the auction starts in 2 weeks exactly. Here is a list of things they are going to auction away. It’s not everything they have, but if any of them catches your eye, you can prepare for it."

Alex took the talisman and thanked the prince before returning to his room. He didn’t care as much about the auction as the prince clearly did, so he only gave a cursory glance at the list of items on auction.

However, one of them aroused his interests quite a bit.

"Isn’t that..."
