Chapter 3521 Meeting Xue Yu'er Again
Chapter 3521 Meeting Xue Yu'er Again
Alex cultivated for some time in the Wine God's palace before deciding to leave. Bladedance had remained back in the Jade Lotus Continent, so there was no need for him to stay there at all. On top of that, Pearl and Scarlet were now done with their travels around the Jade Lotus Continent as well, and were thinking of moving on to the Holy Beast Continent, so it made sense for him.
The prince suggested having someone follow him, both to keep him company and so that no one would be willing to attack him while he was alone. However, Alex insisted on not having one. That would draw bigger attention to him.
Instead, he left the palace in a veiled hat, which would hopefully be enough. If not, then he would just have to fight another Divinity.
Alex met up with Pearl and Whisker in the Jade Lotus Continent before going with them to the other continent. The older Alex and Emily were brought out around the same time so they could travel with them.
This was the first time they were getting freedom of this level to travel around the world, mostly because they were finally strong enough to not become a drag on anyone else.
While their cultivation base was still low, barely entering the True realms, their physical strength had far surpassed many of the cultivators in this very realm, reaching into the Divine realm.
Alex did suggest for Hao Ya to come out as well, but it didn't seem as though she had any intention to. She still feared the Sky God's soldiers that had gone rogue.
Since Whisker and Battlesage would start setting up the script soon, she would have to remain inside the Playground for the time being and maybe even be forced to stay outside of the realm for some time. She was more than willing to. So, Alex let her be.
Once Pearl and the group left, Alex contacted the Beast God, asking for her help in connecting him to Xue Yu'er.
A week later, he finally got the chance to meet her.
Xue Yu'er appeared to be in a much better state than she was back when she had left. She no longer appeared sad or melancholic and had moved on from the news she had received of her sect's downfall. "It's good to see you again, junior brother," she said with a warm smile. "It's good to see you too, senior sister," Alex said, still quite unable to believe just how beautiful she was. While the recordings he had seen of her tournament had no indication of it, he wondered if her winning it had anything to do with her looks in some part. Alex wouldn't be surprised if beauty was also one of the factors that the gods took into account when considering the winner.
After all, being beautiful was a different type of strength on its own that couldn't be downplayed. It was said that certain beauties were capable of toppling empires, and she would definitely qualify there.
"I'm sorry I wasn't the one to contact you first," she said as she sat. They were in the garden area of the Beast God's palace, surrounded by walls of various flowers on two sides, with the massive pond and the 3 Sacred Jade Lotuses far away on the other side.
The disciples of the sect stayed and worked much further in, so the two could converse there without much worry.
"It's fine, senior. You did only return from the moon no more than a few months ago. You deserve to rest and cultivate," Alex said. "Still, I'm thankful you accepted my request to meet me."
"Of course," the woman said. "I wanted to learn more about you too. It's not every day someone becomes a disciple of the Sword God. To have someone from my lower realm becoming one is quite a surprise to me."
Alex smiled. "It was more luck than anything," he said.
"You met her in Hell, I hear," the woman asked.
"Yes, I did," Alex answered, quickly realizing that she may not be coming into this conversation as blind as he thought she would be. At the very least, she may have gotten some information beyond what he had told her back when they met in the Jade Lotus Continent.
"She must think quite highly of you to make you her disciple," Xue Yu'er said. "The Beast God speaks nothing but praises of you as well. Is it true that you successfully managed to tame the Grade 10 insects in the Insect Hall?"
"It's true," Alex said. "But I wouldn't really say I tamed them so much as I happened to have food they liked. I still have yet to fasten them, so we'll see if I truly succeed in the future. Even the Beast God herself tried and failed at it, so who really knows."
"I'm sure you'll do it," the woman said.
Alex smiled and looked around. "At the end of the tournament, you had a chance to go with any of the other gods, right?" he asked. "May I ask why you chose the Beast God?"
"Well..." the woman hesitated. "I don't think I have any definite reasons. I knew little to nothing about the gods, so anything I chose wouldn't have mattered. They also all had some specialty that I had no interest in. I didn't like music. I didn't care for wines. I had no interest in arrays or formations, or even the war. I don't use sabers or axes in battle. I could say I also don't have beasts, but the Beast God was more than just about taming beasts. She was trying to bring peace between humans and beasts, and compared to everything else, that's what appealed to me. So, when she approached me after the tournament, I immediately accepted her request to join her."
"That is indeed a good reason," Alex said, nodding slowly. He considered what he was about to say next and decided there was no
point in wasting any more time.
"Senior, were you born with your spirit roots?"
