Chapter 1271 Dream

Chapter 1271: Chapter 1271 Dream

“Brandon,” Ross called calmly.

“Master.”

Brandon emerged from the shadows without making a sound.

One moment, the corner behind Ross was empty.

The next, the giant man was standing there with his hands clasped behind his back.

Since they were alone, Brandon used the proper form of address.

In public, he always called Ross “Boss” to avoid unnecessary attention.

Behind closed doors, however, there was only one title he would ever use.

Master.

Ross smiled faintly.

“Kindly welcome our guests. Make sure you show them our hospitality.”

“As you wish, Master.”

Brandon bowed his head.

Without another word, his body faded into the darkness.

The room became silent once more.

Ross leisurely poured himself another cup of tea.

Far away, the three men continued their discussion about what they found in Falling Leaf City.

Crack.

A twig snapped. The sound was tiny. Yet all three men instantly spun around.

Years of life-and-death experience had sharpened their instincts. Their eyes narrowed.

A giant figure stood several meters away.

The moonlight illuminated Brandon’s broad frame, making him appear less like a man and more like an ancient beast.

“Who are you?” one of the cultivators demanded.

No answer came. Brandon simply stared at them. The silence made their skin crawl.

“Speak!”

The strongest among them took a step forward. The moment he did… Brandon vanished.

The man’s pupils contracted. Too fast. His eyes couldn’t track the movement.

His mind couldn’t track the movement.

By the time he realized what had happened, Brandon was already standing behind him.

A sharp pain erupted in his chest. The man slowly lowered his head.

His eyes widened. A large hole had appeared where his heart should have been.

Several feet away, Brandon stood holding the still-beating organ in his hand.

The man opened his mouth. No words came out. Only blood. His knees buckled.

Moments later, his body crashed into the ground.

Dead.

The remaining two cultivators felt cold sweat pouring down their backs.

“Attack together!”

Both men erupted with spiritual energy. One drew a shining sword.

The other unleashed dozens of flaming talismans. The night sky lit up with brilliant colors.

The sword cultivator struck first.

His blade flashed toward Brandon’s neck with enough force to split a mountain.

Brandon didn’t dodge. He simply raised one hand.

Clang!

The sword stopped. The cultivator’s eyes nearly bulged from their sockets.

Brandon had caught the blade between two fingers.

The supposedly indestructible spiritual weapon trembled violently.

Then Brandon squeezed.

Crack!

The sword shattered into countless fragments.

“What?!”

Before the man could retreat, Brandon’s hand shot forward and seized him by the face.

The cultivator screamed.

Brandon lifted him into the air as though he weighed nothing.

The man desperately punched, kicked, and unleashed techniques.

Nothing worked.

Brandon’s grip never loosened.

“Impossible! Impossible!”

The man’s voice trembled with terror.

For the first time in years, he felt true fear. Brandon looked into his eyes. Then he tightened his grip.

The cultivator’s scream abruptly ended.

His body went limp.

Brandon casually tossed the corpse aside like discarded trash.

The final man witnessed everything.

His courage shattered.

“Monster!”

He turned and fled.

Every ounce of spiritual energy within his body exploded forth as he desperately tried to escape.

His figure became a streak of light racing across the horizon. Unfortunately for him…

Brandon was faster. A dark blur flashed across the night.

The fleeing cultivator suddenly sensed a presence beside him. His heart nearly stopped.

Brandon was running next to him. Keeping pace effortlessly.

The giant man turned his head and looked at him. The man nearly lost control of his flight technique.

“No… no… please…”

For the first time in dozens of years, he begged.

Brandon remained silent. His hand shot forward. The cultivator felt the world spin. The stars rotated.

The moon flipped upside down. Only then did he realize he was falling.

His vision dimmed.

His final sight was Brandon standing above him like an immovable mountain.

Then darkness consumed everything. Three corpses lay scattered across the ground.

Not a single one had managed to escape.

A few moments later, Brandon vanished into the shadows.

When he returned to Ross, there wasn’t a single drop of blood on his clothing.

“Master,” Brandon said calmly.

Ross took a sip of tea.

“Our guests enjoyed the hospitality?”

“Yes, Master.”

Ross smiled.

“Excellent.”

Ross paused for a brief moment, letting his words settle into the silence of the room. Then he spoke.

“Let the people know we’ll only stay here for a month. After that… we’ll have a castle to conquer.”

There was no hesitation in his tone. No doubt.

Only quiet certainty, as if he were stating something already decided by fate itself.

“Understood, Master.”

Brandon’s voice was flat, disciplined.

Without another word, his presence blurred at the edges.

The shadows around him seemed to swallow him whole, and in the next instant, he was gone and vanished without a trace, as though he had never existed in the first place.

Silence returned to the room.

Ross remained seated, fingers lightly resting on the arm of his chair.

The world outside continued on, unaware that something had just shifted in its balance.

Slowly, he closed his eyes.

His divine sense expanded outward. The world unfolded in his mind like a living map.

And then, he saw it. A kingdom. Ross’s lips curved slightly. He pushed his senses deeper.

Power structures revealed themselves like peeling layers of an onion. So many cracks.

So many weaknesses waiting to be pressed. Ross exhaled slowly, as if savoring the discovery.

“This place…” he murmured under his breath. “It’s already halfway broken.”

A faint glint appeared in his eyes.

Not excitement in the childish sense but the calm satisfaction of a strategist seeing a board perfectly arranged for his hand.

He leaned forward slightly and focused more on the women that he might conquer.

He was not at all disappointed in what he found.

Ross opened his eyes again, the faintest smile lingering on his face.

“I’m going to enjoy this so much.”
