Evolution: From Little Devil to Devil Empress

Chapter 430: Devouring Archdevils

Chapter 430: Devouring Archdevils

Although the two Archdevils previously bickered and looked to be on the verge of having a fight, their cooperation was truly seamless upon taking action.

The Feathered Devil’s sword strike aimed at Liora’s abdomen, as if wishing to cleave her in two.

On the other hand, the Thousand-Eyed Devil targeted her head.

He knew that such Archdevils had no weak spots.

Even if Liora’s head exploded, she would still be alive and would only have to consume some Indestructible Matter to recover.

This was also why he felt free to do so.

After all, the goal set by the Leader was to obtain the ancient civilization’s inheritance.

They didn’t know if this was on Liora at the moment. What if she had hidden it somewhere?

Rather than killing her and erasing possible traces, they preferred to capture her alive instead.

Their attacks were quick and decisive.

Their blows easily cut through space and arrived in front of Liora instantaneously.

Bang! Liora’s head exploded, and brain matter shot everywhere while her body was divided in two.

Indestructible Matter flickered and wove the two parts together, while her head grew out again, as if time was turning back.

Despite this, a glimmer of hope appeared on the Feathered Devil’s face. She noticed something.

"It works! She has just advanced and has yet to practice an Archdevil Technique. Her strength has not transformed just yet.", she realized and couldn’t help but remind her companion:

"She must not have cultivated a clone yet! As long as we exhaust her Indestructible Matter, we should be able to capture her alive!"

Although one was speaking and one was listening, their movements never stopped.

The moment Liora’s injuries recovered, another barrage of attacks arrived.

Then another, and another.

Her aura began to get weaker.

She was at least able to struggle at the beginning and attempted to break free from the metal chains binding her.

But towards the end, Liora remained utterly motionless. She no longer had the strength to move, much less to counterattack.

It didn’t take long for her aura to fall below the Archdevil stage.

A trace of confusion flashed across her eyes, and the next moment, her consciousness blurred, and her body collapsed.

Her Indestructible Matter had been exhausted!

Coupled with the injuries she had sustained, she was no longer able to keep awake.

The Feathered Devil and the Thousand-Eyed Devil did not pause their attacks just yet, though.

After exchanging a glance, they struck several times from afar.

It was only after confirming that Liora’s injuries could no longer recover and their opponent showed no reaction to their blows that they stopped.

"Go on. Check on her.", the Thousand-Eyed Devil ordered his companion, who could only grumble in response.

Still, the Feathered Devil knew that she was the perfect person to check on the opponent.

Therefore, after a series of alternating expressions and several silent curses addressed to the Thousand-Eyed Devil, she let out a sigh and stepped forward.

She remained on guard.

Although all signs hinted that Liora was truly unconscious, the Feathered Devil did not underestimate her.

The armor of feathers covering her body tightened.

The sword in her hand transformed into a long spear.

After stopping some distance away from Liora, she thrust it forward and aimed at her chest.

Feathers scattered everywhere, as if an Angel had descended into this world.

However, these feathers didn’t contain the beauty or holiness of an Angel’s wings, but the chilling murderous intent of a Devil.

As long as this blow landed, most of Liora’s body would be directly obliterated!

Even if she were pretending and hoping to take this as a chance to make a comeback, she would find herself powerless!

The Feathered Devil’s decision was surprising and went against the arrogant behavior she previously displayed. However, this was to be expected.

No Archdevil was truly stupid. They knew when to be arrogant and when to be cautious in their actions.

Liora showed no reaction despite facing this attack. It was as if she had really fallen into a coma.

Yet, as the spear’s tip gradually grew closer, her body finally showed some subtle changes.

Her eyelids fluttered before her eyes opened up. The feathered spear was reflected in her pupils, but she showed no fear.

Instead, a faint trace of regret flashed across her face.

"Sure enough, it’s not that simple. You guys are not too stupid after all.", she muttered.

Although the Feathered Devil had remained alert, Liora’s sudden action and her subsequent words still caught her off guard.

Her grip on the spear subconsciously tightened, and she poured more of her strength into its handle.

But before this blow could land, the Feathered Devil’s pupils shrank into needles.

Liora’s body suddenly vanished.

No. Rather, it transformed into a cloud of gray particles and escaped the metal chains’ clutches.

Before the Feathered Devil could react, the gray particles shot towards her and engulfed her.

Continuous banging sounds echoed, as if two indestructible objects had met in the air.

But shortly after, the Feathered Devil’s body proved to be not so indestructible.

The cloud of gray particles fell on her body and quickly dove inside her.

Then, like a swarm of locusts, they began to devour her from within.

The sharp pain made the Feathered Devil freeze. Though she quickly suppressed it, it was too late by then.

Following a crunching bite sound, the last bit of her body was obliterated.

The gray particles tumbled.

They gathered together, and the cloud shrank down, taking a humanoid form.

Or to be more accurate, it transformed back into Liora.

Her previous injuries had vanished, and the same was true for her earlier weakness.

In fact, not only did she not look any weaker, but she also seemed more powerful than ever before.

"The essence of an Archdevil is indeed far more nutritious than that of a Greater Devil.", she couldn’t help but break into a smile and subconsciously licked her upper lip.

But the next moment, the smile on her face was wiped out.

She noticed a small feather manifest at the corner of her vision.

It quickly blurred and ran away, seemingly possessing a will of its own.

Liora complained inwardly that the rumors were true. Killing an Archdevil was far from simple.

Despite this, she reacted quickly.

A dark blade exuding the power of destruction formed in her right hand, and she was about to strike at the feather.

Just then, though, the echo of an explosion sounded, and Liora’s intuition warned her of danger.

Helpless, she could only let the feather escape. She turned around and struck at the blinking eye behind her back.
