Chapter 432: Entanglement
Chapter 432: Entanglement
The Thousand-Eyed Devil instantly sensed Liora’s determination to use him as a point of breakthrough.
Similarly, he also noticed that the Feathered Devil was entangled with the wall of Nothingness and could not help him.
He knew that he could only rely on himself to deal with her outburst for the time being.
Fortunately, the Thousand-Eyed Devil knew his biggest disadvantage—close-quarters combat—and had long developed a method to deal with opponents who wished to get close to him.
Staring at Liora, who was rapidly closing in on him, the Thousand-Eyed Devil reacted immediately.
More than a dozen of his eyes burst apart.
Black blood splattered everywhere and fell on his own body, corroding through his skin and reaching straight into his bones.
But the Thousand-Eyed Devil did not mind.
Suppressing the pain of these injuries and his loss of so many of his eyes, he quickly fled away.
Liora could not stop him.
As his eyes exploded, the space around her froze.
The air above her cracked. A giant pupil grew out of the opening and stared down at her with indifference.
The pupil dripped with black blood, while its white part was completely bloodshot.
Following a blink, a large beam was fired out, a blow several times more terrifying than any of those that the Thousand-Eyed Devil had performed in the past.
Its speed was astonishing and gave no room for Liora to dodge.
In a hurry, she could only concentrate on the Throne prototype sitting within her soul space and merge her consciousness with it.
Her body began to dissolve.
Her skin, bones, and blood quickly turned into gray particles, as if she had transformed into the concept of Nothingness itself.
The moment after she activated Throne Incarnation, the terrifying laser-like beam of the colossal eye finally arrived.
Its attack range was incredible, faintly surpassing the limits of its own form.
Soon, a cloud of smoke was created.
Although Liora had cast Throne Incarnation and gotten rid of the limits of her physical form, she still felt as if she had caught on fire.
Several of the particles she had transformed into were obliterated, and the cloud of Nothingness gradually grew smaller and smaller.
This caught her off guard.
One had to know that Throne Incarnation was a powerful ability that usually only Throne powerhouses were qualified to possess.
Its effects, though, far surpassed the difficulty of developing it.
As long as an Archdevil activated Throne Incarnation, they would be able to invalidate almost 99 percent of any incoming damage.
This might not be as useful when facing far stronger opponents.
However, in a battle between equal opponents, this was a nearly invincible ability.
"This guy’s attacking power should be among the strongest within the same stage."
"Although launching such a powerful attack has obvious drawbacks and can’t be performed consistently, its power is unparalleled."
Liora had keenly noticed that the eyes of the Thousand-Eyed Devil had yet to recover even after so much time had passed.
Clearly, the enemy had to pay a certain price to obtain such terrifying attacking power.
Still, this situation left Liora wondering: just how powerful would the blow be if the Thousand-Eyed Devil were to sacrifice all his eyes at the same time?
No! He didn’t have to sacrifice all of them.
Liora would find herself fatally injured even if he were to consume only half of them.
Her gaze deepened. She knew that she could not give him the chance to do so.
Secretly, her plan was altered.
Yet, her movements on the surface remained the same, and she continued chasing after the opponent.
The eyes of the Thousand-Eyed Devil continued exploding again and again, forcing Liora to cast Throne Manifestation to remain barely unscathed.
In the end, although several moments had passed, Liora barely managed to reach his starting location.
On the other hand, the opponent had taken the opportunity and already fled far away. If anything, the gap between them had widened instead of shrinking.
This was not all.
After Liora’s body was rearranged once again, she discovered that the Feathered Devil had finally broken out from the Nothingness’ entanglement.
The opponent’s wings flapped behind her back and enhanced her momentum, as she glided forward and flashed beside Liora.
White feathers scattered. Her armor rustled as if it were breathing, and its feathers glinted sharply.
A feathered sword materialized in her hand, and she aimed it at Liora’s abdomen.
Things did not stop there.
In the distance, the Thousand-Eyed Devil showed a determined look, and dozens of his eyes were instantly extinguished.
Several giant pupils grew out of space as a result and fired their beams at Liora.
In the blink of an eye, Liora had been surrounded.
Each of these individual attacks was threatening enough to injure her. Even if she were to cast Throne Manifestation, the continuous barrage would affect her true form too, and there would hardly be a difference.
Either way, Liora would find herself at a disadvantage.
With her losing control of the battle and the Feathered Devil having closed in on her, she and the Thousand-Eyed Devil could slowly wear her down from now on.
Her fate seemed sealed. She would either be captured alive or forced to self-destruct.
Yet, despite the constant warning signs ringing in Liora’s mind, her face showed little fear.
If anything, a trace of excitement could be seen deep in her crimson eyes.
Her mind moved. An illusory river appeared around her and stretched out like the tentacle of an undersea beast.
One of its ends extended towards the distance, while its other end remained motionless.
Shockingly, the river’s target was neither the Feathered Devil nor the blinking eyes around her.
Instead, it was the Thousand-Eyed Devil who was still suffering a backlash in the distance.
Covered in black blood, he had no time to react.
The river wrapped around his body in an instant, and its waters pulled on him.
The Thousand-Eyed Devil was stunned. He seemed to have realized something and wanted to break out of these waters.
Unfortunately, it was already too late.
The waves of the illusory river turned transcendent before starting to turn backwards, and with their movements, time itself seemed to have blurred.
