Chapter 434: Return
Chapter 434: Return
Faint chewing sounds spread in the otherwise desolate and silent Origin Sea.
A lone figure stood on top of a pile of ruins, with her back shrouded in the dim light of several medium-level worlds.
Debris floated all around her. Chunks of worlds, weapons, and even the remains of Archdevils.
Blood and feathers were scattered all over them, painting a gruesome image.
Liora stood amidst this scene without the slightest expression on her face. She remained indifferent.
She watched silently as the miniature black hole in front of her devoured the last remains of her opponents, signaling the end of the previous fierce battle.
Two Creation Stage Archdevils who cooperated seamlessly, protected by a formation empowered by several worlds.
Yet, their final fate was far from good.
One was currently unconscious and had been suppressed at the bottom of the Snake of Time, while the other Archdevil had perished in her hands.
It was hard to say who had it better. Though there was obviously no need for comparison.
Liora lowered her head. As she checked her current state, she couldn’t help but shake her head.
She knew that she had been overconfident in coming here, perhaps affected by her advancement and recent surge in strength.
It was only after the previous battle that she realized that no Archdevil was simple, and she could not suppress them at will.
"I could easily fight against an army of True Spirit Greater Devils while I was still in that stage. No matter how many opponents I faced, I would be able to deal with them."
"Yet, as soon as I advanced, I’m no longer able to easily suppress my opponents."
Were the Feathered Devil and the Thousand-Eyed Devil powerful?
Of course. At the same time, they were cautious in their actions and had set up the formation to prevent her from escaping.
But this was far from the reason why Liora failed to defeat them quickly.
"Ultimately, it’s because I’ve just advanced."
"My Devil Techniques are still at the level of a Greater Devil, and I’ve yet to truly upgrade my means."
"Even the Greater Devil techniques I have practiced are far from being fully mastered. Even the Demonic Body Art is only at the 6th Level."
"If it were not for my earlier comprehension of Throne Manifestation and the power of the Snake of Time, I would only be a slightly more powerful Creation Stage Archdevil."
"Although quite strong among my peers, there would be more powerful beings in this stage."
Of course, Liora knew that she could not be blamed.
It was not her fault that she had just advanced but had to deal with two Archdevils. One could say that she was forced by the circumstances.
Shortly after, Liora shook her head and suppressed these thoughts.
In the end, everything had worked out.
Although the struggle of her enemies was stronger than expected and an accident almost happened during the process, she had managed to emerge victorious.
No! Not only had she won, but she had captured one of the two Archdevils alive.
Liora turned her gaze to her soul space, or to be more accurate, to the Snake of Time dancing around her soul body.
A brief glint flashed in her pupils, and she stared at the Archdevil who had sunk to its bottom.
The Thousand-Eyed Devil had yet to wake up. He remained sealed in the Snake of Time’s depths, unable to move, much less struggle.
"Compared to that feathered woman, I much prefer this guy. Being able to capture him alive is worth the risk I took to battle against them."
The previous fight did not last for long. Yet, Liora had already comprehended the characteristics of her opponents.
According to her guess, the Feathered Devil should have integrated concepts such as "flight", "feathers", and "sky" into her Throne, hence her appearance and the abilities she utilized.
On the other hand, the Thousand-Eyed Devil concentrated on the concepts of "gaze", "illusion", and "sacrifice".
The latter two were not very valuable in Liora’s opinion. It was the first and most integral concept, "gaze", that she valued.
Her previous soul transformation had given birth to a new ability she called Heaven’s Eye.
It was exactly the third golden pupil that frequently appeared on her forehead and allowed her vision to expand, as well as launch soul attacks.
Because of this, she was quite interested in the concept of "gaze".
Liora couldn’t help but wonder: what would happen if she were to integrate it into her own Throne?
Would Heaven’s Eye power improve, or would it undergo a more fundamental change?
Soon, Liora shook her head once more.
Now was not the time to think about this.
She was still in the Origin Sea and was not safe.
Although the battle was over and the enemies had been dealt with, the danger was far from over just yet.
Not only because of this place’s environment, but also because of the Universe Chamber of Commerce.
Liora guessed that the other party must have already discovered what took place here.
There was a high chance that someone would come after her once again. Based on her previous achievements, that someone was bound to be far more powerful than the Feathered Devil and Thousand-Eyed Devil.
Liora had some confidence in dealing with, or at least escaping from, a Throne Stage powerhouse in the past.
But the earlier battle had shattered her dreams.
She knew that if she were to face such an Archdevil, escaping would be nearly impossible, and she would only be able to withstand a couple of blows from them.
"Fortunately, I’ve already made preparations. Otherwise, my way back to the Demon World would have been cut off.", Liora couldn’t help but breathe a sigh of relief.
She raised her hand and let the black hole in front of her expand, then watched as the corpse remains and other debris flew towards it.
After confirming that every piece of evidence had been destroyed and no one would discover what occurred during the battle, she turned around and continued her journey.
This time, her target was not the Demon World, but the world she had just departed from.
Returning through the Origin Sea was dangerous.
Liora knew that the Universe Chamber of Commerce might have the means to locate her. If they were willing, they could very well block her way far before she reached her destination.
As such, she would, of course, not willingly step into another trap.
Rather than betting on whether the Universe Chamber of Commerce had the resources to deal with her at the moment, it would be far better to simply use the World-Descending Array she had previously set up.
