Demon World. 173rd Layer, Hollow City.
A crimson light flashed in a vast mansion located near the center of the city.
Following the seemingly randomized arrangement of squirming patterns, the outline of two humanoid figures appeared in the air.
As the patterns were rearranged, these figures became increasingly clearer.
Until suddenly, their true appearance was revealed. It was two women, both beautiful in their own way.
One had long red hair and red eyes, and exuded an indifferent and somewhat ruthless aura, while the other had brown hair and amber eyes. She was cold and showed little interest in the world around her, as if nothing could enter her eyes.
Alpha remained calm as Liora, and she returned to the Demon World.
She had never experienced the war against the Universe Chamber of Commerce, nor had she witnessed the earlier confrontation.
Though Liora had briefly described the process to her, her trust in her Lord made her believe that they were never in danger.
In Alpha’s opinion, even if a Prince of the Demon World were to appear, Liora would certainly have a way of dealing with it.
Liora did not remain as calm.
As she saw the familiar world around her and sensed the familiar bloodthirsty aura filling the Demon World, she couldn’t help but breathe a sigh of relief.
She knew that her "escape" had been successful.
Now that she had returned to the Demon World, or more accurately, to Hollow City, she had absolutely no reason to fear the Universe Chamber of Commerce.
With the Hollow Ancestor in charge and several other organizations confronting each other, the other party would never dare to seek trouble with her within the city’s confines.
"Moreover, it’s still unknown whether they would even be willing to attack me without sufficient confidence in taking me down."
"In their eyes, the inheritance I carry is extremely valuable and should have originally been their possession."
"If I were pushed to despair and chose to abandon it in a desolate place, or worse, present it to someone stronger as a gift, then this inheritance would no longer have anything to do with the Universe Chamber of Commerce."
Realizing this, Liora relaxed and understood she was safe for the time being.
However, she was not planning to entrust her fate to other people’s hands just yet.
Now that she had come back to the Demon World and had ample resources in her hands, both in actual resources and Evolution Points, she was planning to do her best to improve her strength.
At the same time, it was time for the mansion she had purchased in Hollow City to be put into use. Like other Archdevils, she was planning to turn this place into a fortress.
Countless thoughts raced through Liora’s mind as she altered her plans for the foreseeable future.
Once she was done, she turned to Alpha and was about to give an order. But before she could voice her thoughts, she noticed a glimmer of excitement in her subordinate’s eyes.
Liora followed her gaze and discovered the reason behind it.
It was neither their successful escape from danger nor their return to the Demon World.
Instead, as Liora looked where Alpha was looking, she saw that her excitement stemmed from the figures of the wooden puppet servants strolling the mansion.
Although Alpha tried her best to hide it, it was apparent to everyone that she was quite happy to see them.
Upon seeing this, Liora couldn’t help but stretch her hand and gently pat her on the shoulder, roughly guessing her thoughts.
Her movements jolted Alpha awake. Blood rushed to her cheeks when she realized what had happened.
Just when she turned her head around and was ready to mutter an excuse, Liora interrupted her. She casually waved her hand and dismissed her.
"Go on. I will be focusing on taking stock of the harvest for the next few days."
"While I’m away, you can take care of the mansion in my stead.", she said, before pausing for a brief moment and adding:
"The mansion is somewhat desolate. If you wish, you can go out and purchase a few more of these puppets to help you take care of it."
Alpha was originally going to nod her head and claim that she would do everything in her power to take good care of the mansion while Liora was gone.
However, when she heard the last part of Liora’s speech, she could now be certain that her previous gaffe had been noticed.
Even more blood rushed to her cheeks, and her face flushed.
In a hurry, she could only nod her head repeatedly, up and down, doing her best to hide it.
"Don’t worry, my Lord. I will take care of the mansion.", she tried to keep her voice calm and cold.

Liora watched Alpha go away to play with her puppets while secretly being speechless.
She shook her head. She didn’t know when Alpha gained this hobby, nor how a world-destroying being could enjoy playing with toys.
"But it’s for the better.", she muttered with a smile.
"Alpha getting a hobby is nice. It’s always good to have things to occupy yourself with."
Having said that, Liora knew that this was the case only for Alpha at the moment. She, on the other hand, had no business taking a break, much less wasting her time doing such unproductive things.
Thinking of this, she turned around. Though she wanted to, Liora did not rush to her room and review her gains, nor did she shut herself in to practice.
Instead, she began to stroll through the mansion. She measured the garden around it with her feet, only stopping once in a while.
She didn’t stop to admire the colorful flowers, though. Rather, she would lean down and inscribe several symbols in certain locations.
If one were to look at this scene from a bird’s-eye view, one would discover that a large formation was gradually being outlined.
That formation was far from simple. It spread throughout the mansion and was composed of hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of Devil Runes, which were perfectly combined together.
Time passed. Unbeknownst to everyone in Hollow City, a formation far beyond most people’s understanding was being slowly set up.
