Evolution: From Little Devil to Devil Empress

Chapter 564: Worldwide System

Chapter 564: Worldwide System

Following the several catastrophes that the Blood Forest Realm had gone through, the continent looked bound to be plunged into chaos, especially after the last barrage of earthquakes and natural disasters.

It seemed as though the Gods had given up on the human race, and it wouldn’t be long before humanity would truly perish.

Yet, this was far from what actually happened.

Not long after that fateful day, a long-absent figure appeared—at least in the understanding of most of the people.

The Human Emperor.

After denouncing the previous Human Temple and announcing that it had brought the disasters that befell humankind, the Human Emperor established their own force.

It didn’t take long.

Within the span of a couple of months, that force had grown into a goliath, stronger than the Human Temple had ever been.

This was not only achieved through the Human Emperor’s status and their strength, but also because of some other, more complicated changes.

In the center of the Human Empire, where the former Imperial Capital previously stood, a brand-new city had been erected.

Complexes of complicated buildings far beyond the technological achievements of this continent could be seen everywhere, following a strange architecture that combined ancient and modern means.

Within a giant palace’s depths lay a dark void.

A woman was sitting inside it with her eyes tightly closed.

She was surrounded by the phantoms of millions of shining stars, while her figure seemed to exist in the layer between reality and illusion.

If anyone were here, they would discover that looking at her was unlike looking at an ordinary human—or even a Devil—but rather like gazing upon a structure composed of hundreds of worlds.

With every breath, this structure would expand and contract, as though absorbing the surrounding energy to strengthen itself.

The process lasted for an unknown period of time.

Until finally, the phenomena gradually faded away.

Liora opened her eyes as a brilliant glint shimmered along her crimson pupils.

She softly exhaled before waving her hand to send a stream of light out of the void.

Barely a moment later, a figure materialized right before her.

Alpha bowed respectfully, only getting up as Liora gestured her to do so.

“How is it? Has everything proceeded as expected while I was in seclusion?”, Liora questioned.

Alpha didn’t rush to reply.

She paused briefly and examined everything before finally responding:

“My Lord, everything has been proceeding smoothly for the most part.”

“If I had to say, things are going even better than expected.”

“Most of the secret realm’s humans have already surrendered to the Human Empire and now regard you as both their leader and their God.”

“Although there were some powerful Awakeners who retained their memories and knew of the truth about your replacement of the Human Emperor, they were suppressed as soon as they raised the banner of resistance.”

“Your subordinate, Ysset, has played a great role in this.”

Alpha did not stop there, but continued reporting about the Human Empire’s affairs.

Liora would nod from time to time while gesturing for her to continue.

In truth, this was not necessary.

As soon as Liora awakened and her consciousness sank into the Cosmic Sea, she had seen almost everything she needed.

The faith of her believers was now brighter and purer than ever, engulfing the stars and transforming them into miniature suns.

At the same time, insights regarding their Laws constantly appeared in her mind, while even the Cosmic Sea itself was strengthened in the process.

“As the stars have grown stronger, the worlds surrounding them have multiplied. Although they lack life, the environment has now become several times more prosperous.”

“If life is born, the rate at which it will advance will be terrifying.”

As soon as that thought emerged, Liora focused her gaze on the silver dragon resting under the giant continent.

The other party’s aura had gotten even stronger.

Where it had once been an ordinary True Devil, it had now reached the peak of this stage.

As long as it fully digested the blessing it had received from the Dragon Law, it had a great chance of becoming a Greater Devil.

Liora nodded in satisfaction upon seeing this.

Then, she retracted her consciousness from the Cosmic Sea.

She didn’t rush to do anything, much less emerge from seclusion.

While listening to Alpha’s report, part of her consciousness fell onto another matter—perhaps the thing that interested her the most.

Unlike what one would expect, the reason she was receiving so much faith was not merely because of the large number of her believers.

Another equally important, if not even more, reason was because of something Liora had created during this time.

With a wave of her hand, a crystal sphere emerged in her hand.

It resembled the World Seed she had granted upon her descendants, yet its appearance was subtly different.

It was still made from cosmic dust. However, countless black threads extended from its surface, drilling into the surrounding space and vanishing.

In the eyes of others, these threads were totally invisible.

But in Liora’s gaze, the threads were connected to every single human within the continent.

They bound their bodies and even their soul space, serving as a shackle but also an assistant.

Liora concentrated on one of the many humans near the Twilight Forest.

The other party had previously been hunting demons and had now entered seclusion for seemingly no reason.

At least on the surface.

As Liora’s vision shifted and she watched what was happening through the other person’s eyes, she was able to see an invisible screen floating in their field of vision.

“Name: Adrista Olen”

“Rank: 4 (Low)”

“Experience Points: 1100”

“Experience Points required to Level Up to Rank 4 (Medium): 1000”

The other party didn’t hesitate for long before clicking on the (+) button beside the Rank column.

The next moment, a powerful force erupted from the depths of their body and merged with them.

Both their physical power and their comprehension were enhanced until finally, they broke through a certain shackle and advanced to “Rank 4 (Medium)”.

For them, the entire breakthrough process had been seamless, as though the power had always belonged to them but had simply been sealed.

However, Liora understood that this was far from the truth.

As she glanced at the Cosmic Sea churning within her body, she watched as one of the many Laws autonomously refined a tiny portion of the faith around them, transformed it into strength, and poured it onto the other party through their connection.

Perhaps as a reward, several souls were passed along their link, fusing with the Cosmic Sea. Or more precisely, fusing with Liora herself.

As she watched the process unfold—not once, but hundreds of thousands of times, as every human in the Blood Forest Realm possessed a similar interface—Liora couldn’t help but smile.

Instinctively, she summoned the Evolution System and watched as the Evolution Points soared at a relatively low but steady speed.
