Evolution: From Little Devil to Devil Empress

Chapter 648: Formation

Chapter 648: Formation

Alpha’s new status as the Mechanical Leader showed its extraordinary side once more.

Even when faced with dozens of Emperors, some of them veterans of this Rank, she faced absolutely no resistance while dealing with them.

Within the span of a few moments, the angry and apprehensive expressions of the Mechanical Emperors had disappeared, replaced by respect and admiration.

They had been utterly unable to fight back throughout the entire process, much less inform anyone of what was taking place.

Seeing the Mechanical Emperors stand motionless, as though waiting for their next instruction, Liora nodded in satisfaction.

She hadn’t expected to make such a great discovery.

Not only had she managed to overhear the conversation between the cultivators and the Mechanical Race, learning most of their plans, but she had also succeeded in expanding Alpha’s Mechanical army.

Watching as Alpha appeared beside her and worked to assimilate those beings, Liora couldn’t help but question:

“Can you dig through their memories? Or do they share the same restrictions as the Mechanical beings found on the floors below?”

Alpha did not rush to respond. After several long seconds, she shook her head with disappointment.

“No. It’s still there.”

“I suspect the source of these restrictions comes from the Mechanical Father these people talked about. This method might be shared by all Mechanical Race members rather than just those within the pavilion.”

Surprise flickered in Alpha’s eyes, as though she found it difficult to imagine the power of such a being. To be able to seal the memories of so many people, the mastermind behind everything possessed unimaginable power.

In contrast, Liora showed little surprise.

Unlike Alpha, she recognized the name Mechanical Father.

This person, or rather Mechanical being, was part of ancient legends.

According to history, he was the first Mechanical creature and the one who established what became today’s Mechanical Race.

It was somewhat equivalent to what the Divine Dragon was for the demons of the Blood Forest Realm, being both their progenitor and most powerful member to this day.

The Mechanical Father’s power was unknown.

Some claimed he was an Emperor. Others assumed he had long surpassed that Rank.

Of course, Liora could basically confirm that the latter was closer to the truth.

Still, whether he was a Rank 12 or Rank 13 being remained a mystery.

Shaking her head, Liora suppressed these thoughts.

Her focus shifted back to the matter at hand.

Recalling the conversation between the two civilizations, she gained an even deeper understanding of these people’s conspiracy.

At the same time, she understood that the Cosmic Universe was truly in danger!

With these two forces working together, the other three Apex Civilizations would find it difficult to contend against them.

The number of Emperors in the barracks was insurmountable. Even worse, the unknown being that she had seen reviving in the hall ought to be the so-called “His Majesty”—a being beyond Rank 11.

Once his recovery was complete, dealing with the Rank 10 Emperors in the outside world was relatively simple.

Even so, Liora showed no panic.

If anything, a trace of excitement flashed across her face.

She knew this was an opportunity!

Not only to interfere with the cultivators’ plans, but also to deal with her long-lasting enemy!

The more she thought about it and the more her plans progressed, the more difficult she found it to maintain her composure.

It took every ounce of her being to suppress her wandering thoughts.

Glancing at Alpha, who had allowed the Mechanical Emperors to turn back to their original form, her eyes flickered.

“Can you control these beings to help me get closer to the formation’s core?”

Her question caught Alpha off guard. She lacked critical information that was available to Liora and could thus not truly understand her plans.

Still, although her personality had undergone some changes since her latest advancement, she knew when to be serious and when not.

As such, she nodded solemnly.

“Yes, my Lord!”

“These people are tasked with controlling the flow of essence into the central hub every few days. Although getting there at the moment will be somewhat troublesome, it’s far from impossible.”

As soon as Alpha finished speaking, Liora did not hesitate.

After disguising herself as one of the Mechanical Emperors, assisted by Alpha’s status to mimic their aura, she hurriedly exited the room and returned to the previous hall.

This time, however, she did not need to be so sneaky.

Under the guise of examining the formation, she and the Mechanical Emperors were led into a deeper space layer, where the formation’s core was located.

As soon as Liora entered it, her eyes lit up.

Runes. Everywhere her vision went, all she could see were colorful runes.

They resembled the ones that had previously appeared along the white barrier outside the city.

Yet surprisingly, the runes within this void were even more complicated. Their aura was far superior.

This should have been shocking considering that the white barrier was tasked with protecting an entire city, barring entry from possible invaders.

But considering this was the central point of the entire ancient city and where the ancient cultivators’ plan took place, Liora quickly came to accept it.

She slowly raised her head. Something else finally entered her vision.

Strands of energy.

Crimson. White.

The first was the essence of the creatures that had perished in the extraterrestrial battlefield and had been led here.

As for the second, Liora recognized it as well.

World Origin!

For the second time since arriving in the Cosmic Universe, she had encountered World Origin again.

In the past, it had come from the destruction of several galaxies.

Now…

“Is the ancient city plundering the World Origin directly from the Cosmic Universe?”, Liora wondered.

A look of realization dawned upon her.

It was no wonder that the formation was so complicated…

No! She suddenly shook her head.

A single formation couldn’t possibly plunder World Origin directly from the Will of the World.

Most likely, the entire ancient city was currently working to accomplish this.

As for the purpose, Liora already knew.

As she lowered her head, her gaze pierced through the dark void, leaving the dark void and landing on the many statues outside.

In particular, she focused on the statue towering above them all.

That was the place toward which most of the essence and World Origin were flowing.

Clearly, the revival of this person was not a simple matter.

Or rather, it was not a simple recovery. Since the very start, the cultivators planned to help him regain his full power immediately.

Recalling the millions of beings dying outside and the Emperors fighting within the ancient city, Liora suspected that their conspiracy was likely to succeed.

…At least, had it not been for her.

Unfortunately…

Liora shook her head.

“It is your misfortune to meet me. But since you’ve already gathered so much energy, there is no reason to waste it.”

As that thought took root in her mind, she asked Alpha to step back with the rest of the Mechanical Emperors.

Then, without hesitation, she walked deeper into the void and the formation itself.
