Chapter 1066: Conclusion and Future Plans [2]
What happened next was something the teachers present had already experienced countless times.
The principal first gathered the five awakened students together and offered his congratulations.
"First of all, congratulations." His smile was genuine. "You have successfully awakened and taken your first step onto a path many people spend their entire lives hoping to enter."
The five students immediately straightened.
The principal continued speaking.
"Talent is important. Luck is important. Opportunity is important. However, awakening is only the beginning. Whether you become powerful or ordinary from this point onward depends on your own efforts."
The students nodded.
The principal then spent several minutes giving the standard advice every awakened student in Aurora received.
"Your awakening has already been recorded by the school," the principal continued. "However, official registration must still be completed. Delaying it can create unnecessary complications later."
Everyone nodded again.
Only after finishing his speech did the principal dismiss the group.
"You may leave now. The school has no further obligations today."
The awakened students immediately thanked him before turning to leave.
"Lily, stay behind for a moment."
The room became quiet.
Adrian, Ethan, and the other two awakeners glanced at Lily before leaving. Soon only three people remained.
The principal. Lily. And the homeroom teacher.
The principal waited until the door closed before looking toward Lily. For a moment, he seemed hesitant. Then he smiled.
"How did your awakening go?"
At first glance, the question seemed normal, but Lily immediately understood what the principal was actually asking. He wanted to know her real situation.
After a brief moment of thought, Lily answered.
"It went well. I awakened two classes."
The room immediately went silent. Then a smile slowly spread across the principal's face.
"Dual Awakener?"
Lily nodded.
"Yes."
The principal's smile widened even further. He didn't ask for the names of the classes, at least not immediately. In reality, Lily's answer had not exceeded his expectations.
Before today, both he and several teachers had privately speculated that if Lily awakened, there was a high chance she would become a Dual Awakener.
After all, she was already a Knight. Unlike ordinary students, she already possessed a profession before awakening.
Among awakeners, it was common knowledge that established professions often transformed into secondary classes after awakening. It wasn't guaranteed, but the probability was very high.
In fact, among cultivators who successfully awakened, becoming a Dual Awakener was more common than remaining a single-class awakener.
It was because of this that, even before her awakening, Jester had advised Lily that if she ever did awaken, there was no need to hide a dual class. Sometimes transparency was better.
Trying to hide something would only make others suspicious.
A triple class, however, was different. That was something worth concealing. But that wasn't the situation Lily currently found herself in.
The principal nodded repeatedly.
"Excellent." His voice carried genuine satisfaction.
As a cultivator himself, he wasn't ignorant regarding awakeners. Though he had never awakened, he possessed enough knowledge to understand the significance of dual classes.
A Dual Awakener often possessed greater potential than ordinary awakeners.
After calming down slightly, the principal spoke once more.
"I could offer you advice. But honestly, anything I say would probably be less useful than whatever your cousin tells you." He laughed.
Lily remained silent. She neither confirmed nor denied the statement. What she was more amazed by was how cautiously and respectfully the principal addressed her older cousin.
Lily found the change slightly strange. Only a year ago, Michael had still been an ordinary student. Now even someone like the principal, who was said to be a step away from the master stage, equivalent to a rank 2 awakener, spoke about him with obvious respect.
A thought appeared in her mind.
Could she become like that someday? Now that she was an awakener, could she also reach a point where people looked at her the way they looked at Michael?
The thought filled her with intense motivation.
The principal naturally didn't know what she was thinking.
"Well, regardless of what happens next, remember that this will always be your school."
Lily nodded.
"Thank you, Principal."
"Register with the Supers Association as soon as possible," he reminded her. "And listen carefully to whatever plans your cousin has prepared. Someone like him sees things much further ahead than people like us."
Lily nodded obediently.
"I understand, sir."
"Good."
The principal stood to see her off.
"You may go."
Lily thanked both him and her teacher before leaving the office. The moment she stepped outside, sunlight greeted her. She looked down at the panel floating before her eyes.
A smile slowly appeared on her face. She couldn't wait to see her family and tell them about her awakening.
However, Lily had only taken a few steps out of the principal's office when suddenly her vision darkened.
When the darkness faded, she found herself standing inside an unfamiliar room. A large table occupied the center, filled with food.
Roasted meat. Fruit. Desserts. Several other dishes. At the left side of the table sat Michael.
The young man looked completely relaxed. One arm rested against the chair while the other held a glass of juice. As though sensing her arrival, he turned his head. A smile appeared on his face as he casually took a sip of his drink.
After three months of cultivation, Michael's understanding of his own prowess only grew stronger. Dragging an ordinary person through the void wasn't particularly difficult.
Though doing the same to a rank 3 supernatural would prove difficult, in his wisdom state, they would only be able to resist for a moment at most.
"You're finally done."
Lily stared blankly as she noticed another chair already prepared for her.
Michael pointed toward it.
"Sit."
"…"
"Why are you looking at me like that?"
Lily opened her mouth. Then closed it again. All the excitement she had been carrying moments ago suddenly vanished.
For some reason, seeing Michael calmly drinking juice while waiting for her made everything feel normal again.
