Evolving My Undead Legion In A Game-Like World

Chapter 1067: Origin Milestone Achieved!

Chapter 1067: Origin Milestone Achieved!

Michael raised an eyebrow in confusion.

Lily immediately glared at him.

"I awakened!"

"Good."

Michael nodded seriously. Then immediately returned to drinking his juice.

Lily nearly laughed. That was it? She had become an awakener. A Dual Awakener.

The principal had practically treated her like a future celebrity. Yet Michael's reaction was somehow calmer than Aunt Mia asking whether she had eaten breakfast.

The absurdity of it made her shoulders relax. Without realizing it, she sat down.

Only then did Michael place his cup on the table.

"So?"

Lily immediately straightened. A smile appeared on her face.

"I awakened two classes."

Michael nodded.

"I know."

Lily's excitement instantly dropped several levels.

Michael almost laughed seeing her expression.

"What?"

"I suddenly don't feel very impressive anymore."

Michael leaned back.

"Why?"

Lily paused.

Michael pointed at her.

"You awakened on your first attempt." Then he pointed toward the city outside. "Do you know how many people would trade places with you right now?"

Lily became quiet.

Michael continued with a smile.

"You awakened two classes. So yes. You're impressive."

For a moment, Lily felt happy hearing those words from him. Then she remembered the thought that had appeared after leaving the principal's office.

Could she become someone like Michael one day? Could she reach the same height? Could people look at her the same way they looked at him?

The thought had filled her with motivation. Now, however—

Lily looked at Michael and lowered her head.

"…Never mind."

Michael frowned.

"What?"

"Nothing."

Lily picked up a piece of fruit. A few seconds later she muttered quietly, "I was wondering if maybe I could catch up to you someday."

Michael nearly choked on his juice.

"Cough!"

Lily watched him. Michael stared back. Then he burst out laughing.

"Hahahaha!"

Lily immediately became annoyed.

"Why are you laughing?!"

Michael wiped the corner of his mouth.

"That's a good goal. I believe you can do it."

Lily's eyes brightened slightly.

Then Michael continued.

"But you'll probably need several miracles, a few divine inheritances, an ancient treasure, and perhaps the universe itself helping you."

"…"

"…"

"…You're impossible."

Michael grinned. Lily rolled her eyes.

In actuality, Michael wasn't lying. To surpass him, Lily would indeed need the help of the universe, much like he himself did, given that even the Origin Will seemed to want to slow his growth.

Michael picked up another piece of fruit and tossed it toward her.

"Eat first. You just awakened on your first trial. Let's celebrate first. After that, tell me everything."

Lily caught the piece of fruit automatically and started eating obediently.

After the meal, Lily finally began recounting everything that had happened during the Awakening Ceremony.

Strictly speaking, Michael already knew most of it. He had been paying attention from outside the school, and with his current senses and abilities, following what happened inside the classroom had not been difficult.

Even so, he did not interrupt her.

Lily spoke with visible excitement. From the moment the homeroom teacher entered with the Awakening Orb, to the first student awakening as a Knight, then the second as a Water Mage, then the failures that followed one after another.

Michael listened quietly the entire time.

Only after Lily finished did he fall into thought.

To be honest, he had originally expected Lily to awaken an ordinary Knight class.

Whether as part of a dual class or triple class awakening, he had thought her existing Knight profession would naturally become a Knight class. He had not expected it to become Magic Knight.

As for the fact that she had not awakened three classes, Michael was slightly disappointed. But only slightly. His greed had limits.

Lily had already awakened successfully on her first attempt. Not only that, she had awakened a Special Grade Class and a Rare Grade Class at the same time.

If he still complained after that, even the heavens might strike him with lightning out of disgust.

Even if Lily had fallen into the unlucky category where her previous profession failed to become a class, awakening itself would have been enough. In that sense, Magic Knight was already an additional reward.

Thanks to his previous advancement rewards and the amount of information he had gained over time, Michael was fairly clear on the details of the Magic Knight class.

As a class that provided four attribute points per level, it could be considered Rare Grade. It was also a hybrid class. It combined martial combat and magic, allowing the user to fight with weapons while enhancing their body and attacks through mana. If needed, they could also fight like mages.

Among Rare Grade Classes, Magic Knight was considered one of the stronger ones.

Thinking this far, Michael could not help but give Lily an odd look.

Lily immediately noticed.

"What?"

Michael stared at her for another second. Then he shook his head.

"Nothing. I just think your luck is strange."

"My luck?"

Michael quickly explained the concept of rare and special classes.

Though with the Federation finally releasing supernatural knowledge to the public, Lily wasn't as clueless as Michael had been this time last year, Michael still shed more light on the topic.

"More importantly, both your classes are hybrid classes."

Lily slowly lowered the fruit in her hand.

"Is that good?"

"It is very good."

Lily's eyes brightened.

Michael leaned back slightly.

"Druid gives you healing, plant control, beast affinity, spirit contracts, nature magic, and support abilities. Magic Knight gives you close combat, mana reinforcement, weapon skills, and offensive magic."

"Separately, both classes are already strong. Together, they support each other extremely well."

Lily listened with growing excitement.

Michael continued.

"A normal Druid might lack enough direct combat power at the beginning. A normal Magic Knight might lack healing, control, and long-term support. You have both."

He pointed at her.

"That means you can fight directly, heal yourself, restrain enemies, support allies, contract beasts or spirits, and still grow as a Knight."

Lily's mouth slowly opened.

Michael smiled faintly at her reaction. Coming this far, he was very pleased. Thanks to his talent, Lily might not be able to surpass him in the future, but it was very possible she could dominate a lot of awakeners in her own rank.

Speaking of talent, though Lily was lucky to awaken a class, her luck still fell short when it came to awakening a talent.

After discussing her classes for a while, Michael was about to bring up her plans for entering the Land of Origin.

Compared to his own start, Michael, who could almost be considered an elder awakener by now, naturally intended to give Lily second-generation privileges.

However, he had only just opened his mouth to speak when suddenly a look of pain appeared on both his face and Lily's.

Immediately, the invisible mark of origin on the surface of their hands appeared without their permission, emitting a subtle heat that caused them both pain.

It wasn't only them. Michael immediately extended his senses across a large part of Brightgate City and checked on the few new awakeners he could spot, only to realize they were all experiencing the same thing.

"What's happening?" Lily asked, fear evident in her voice.

Before Michael could reply, a panel suddenly appeared in their vision.
