Evolving My Undead Legion In A Game-Like World

Chapter 1159: Dragon Breath That Illuminated The Heavens

Chapter 1159: Dragon Breath That Illuminated The Heavens

The blood-robed woman slowly closed her eyes. For the first time in countless years, she felt genuine despair.

Above her, the Undead High Drake's emerald eyes glowed brighter than ever. The condensed sphere of destruction inside its mouth had already compressed to only a few meters across.

Its power, however, made the surrounding space continuously fracture before immediately healing again.

The old man's expression finally changed.

"No!"

Without another moment of hesitation, he abandoned all thoughts of restraining the Bone Dragon.

Saving the woman had become the absolute priority. His figure blurred. Water exploded beneath his feet.

The surrounding ocean he had created surged together once more, transforming into countless azure streams that wrapped around his body like flowing ribbons.

Every ounce of speed he possessed erupted at once. He shot toward the Undead High Drake like a streak of blue light, hoping he wasn't already too late.

The Undead High Drake paid the old man no attention whatsoever. Its emerald eyes never shifted. Its entire focus remained locked onto the blood-robed woman beneath it.

The dragon had no interest in complicated strategies. After battling her for so long, it had arrived at a very simple conclusion.

This enemy was extremely difficult to kill. Like an incredibly tough nut that refused to crack no matter how hard it was struck.

The High Drake had grown tired of it. Instead of wasting more time with claws and fangs, why not simply use the strongest attack available?

Surely, with such a sturdy body, she could survive one dragon breath.

That was the dragon's simple reasoning.

The sphere of emerald destruction within its mouth shrank further. One meter. Half a meter. Its terrifying power became even more concentrated.

The surrounding void fractured continuously under the pressure alone.

"Stop!"

The old man's shout echoed across the heavens. The High Drake ignored him completely.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!

A pillar of emerald dragon breath erupted downward. At such close range, there was no travel time. No opportunity to evade.

The destructive beam engulfed the blood-robed woman the instant it left the dragon's mouth.

The world turned green.

An explosion unlike anything before swallowed the battlefield. The void itself collapsed under the concentrated power. Space shattered layer after layer before desperately repairing itself.

The shockwave spread in every direction. Even hundreds of kilometers away, forests bent flat beneath the overwhelming pressure.

The old man's face darkened.

"…Damn it!"

He no longer cared about preserving the dragon. His hand rose. An immense torrent of compressed water condensed above his palm, carrying enough force to blast apart mountains.

If he couldn't save the woman, then at the very least he would suppress this troublesome dragon.

Just as he prepared to strike, a sense of danger exploded behind him.

His pupils contracted.

Without even turning, he instinctively twisted his body.

BOOOOOOOOM!!

A gigantic skeletal tail swept across the heavens. The Bone Dragon had arrived. Its mountain-sized tail carried terrifying momentum as it smashed toward the old man's back like a falling continent.

The old man barely managed to cross one arm behind himself. The tail struck. The impact detonated like a deployed bomb.

The surrounding air exploded into concentric rings.

The old man's figure shot across the sky like a blue comet, tearing through dozens of kilometers before finally stabilizing himself.

His sleeve had completely shattered. The arm he had used to block trembled slightly from the sheer force behind the blow.

The Bone Dragon lowered its tail before once again placing itself between the old man and the battlefield below.

Golden runes pulsed across its skeletal frame. Blue flames burned quietly within its empty eye sockets.

It made no sound and simply stared.

Behind it, the emerald radiance from the dragon breath still illuminated half the heavens. Whatever the outcome, the High Drake had already completed its attack.

The instant the dragon breath struck, the world shook. The earth itself groaned.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!

A deafening explosion echoed across the horizon. The impact drove deep into the ground beneath the battlefield. The destruction spread farther. And farther. And farther still.

More than two hundred miles away, the dense forest where Michael had hidden suddenly trembled violently.

Rumble. RUMBLE!!

The ground beneath his feet lurched sideways. Nearby trees swayed as though struck by a hurricane despite there being no wind. Loose stones rolled down the rocky slope.

Birds that had already been hiding out of fear exploded into the sky in frightened flocks.

Michael instinctively steadied himself against a nearby boulder. His pupils contracted.

"So far away and I can still feel it?"

Even after teleporting over two hundred and fifty miles away, the aftershocks of the collision still reached him. He slowly turned toward the distant horizon.

Although he couldn't see the battlefield itself, a blinding emerald light still illuminated the heavens. Even from this distance, it looked as though another sun had risen below.

"…"

Michael swallowed unconsciously. Every time he witnessed Demigod-level power, he became increasingly aware of just how absurd this realm truly was.

Even with his temporary advantages, he still wasn't truly standing at that level.

Not yet.

At the same time, back in Brightgate City, the battle had long since disappeared beyond the horizon.

Only a faint emerald and crimson glow occasionally illuminated the distant sky.

Suddenly the entire city shook.

Citizens who had only just begun calming down after the earlier attack cried out in alarm.

"What was that?!"

"An earthquake?"

"The battle…"

"It has to be the battle!"

People instinctively looked toward the distant horizon. Although they couldn't witness the fighting, the terrifying aftershocks told them enough.

Whatever was happening there had far exceeded their imagination.

Meanwhile, far above the shattered battlefield, the heavens still trembled from the collision. Gradually, the emerald radiance began to fade.

Far away, the old man stretched his senses beneath the Undead High Drake. A deep frown etched itself onto his face.

After a long breath, he disappeared. Only a single sentence remained, echoing across the ruined battlefield for miles.

"Michael Norman, I hope our next meeting will be more peaceful."
