Chapter 1196: Panel [3]
Chapter 1196: Panel [3]
The change wasn't merely visual. Michael could feel it crawling through him, an icy vastness pouring into every corner of his being, as though his own mind had been stretched to make room for something far larger than himself.
His thoughts moved strangely, sharper in some places and disturbingly foreign in others, like borrowing a room in his own house that had quietly been redecorated by someone else.
Beneath the cold, there was an unmistakable sense of scale, of touching something that dwarfed his ordinary self entirely.
Michael looked down at his hands. They were still flesh. Yet they didn't entirely feel physical anymore.
He could feel the material world. But also something layered beneath it.
Michael slowly raised one hand. His fingers became translucent. Then solid again.
"…Spiritualization."
The ghost's voice reached him from inside his mind.
"Yes."
Michael's heart began pounding. He clenched his fist, and mana erupted.
BOOM!
The ground shook.
Michael immediately restrained himself. Quickly, he summoned his status panel.
[Class]: Death's Heir
[Attributes]
Strength: 2158.75 (+432)
Agility: 2400.71 (+1293)
Constitution: 2574.92 (+689)
Intelligence: 2620.92 (+3632)
Attribute Points: 517
"Mama Mia!"
Michael's gaze remained fixed on Intelligence, the stat with the biggest increase.
Three thousand six hundred and thirty-two.
That wasn't a minor increase. That wasn't even something Michael could reasonably call an enhancement anymore. His Intelligence had more than doubled.
Michael slowly flexed his fingers. His current reserves had swollen to a ridiculous degree.
Michael had always possessed far more mana than most people at his level because of his constitution, class, and accumulated enhancements. But now, he could no longer properly compare himself to Rank Four beings.
Michael slowly raised one hand. A mass of energy gathered above his palm.
Michael dispersed it a few seconds later. His heart began beating faster.
At this point, could his mana reserves compete with a Demigod?
Michael's breathing gradually slowed.
"The quantity…"
His silver eyes narrowed.
"…might already be comparable."
And the quality?
Michael suspected it might actually be higher than that of many ordinary Demigods.
The ghost wasn't some Common or Rare-grade creature. She was Epic Three-Star. And Michael's own foundation was anything but ordinary.
The combination between them wasn't simply one plus one.
Michael clenched his fist. Frost silently spread across the air around it. The surrounding space became unnaturally still. Even the black earth beneath him developed a thin silver-white coating.
Michael's eyes gradually brightened.
"If mana quantity and quality aren't the issue…"
Then what still separated him from a genuine Demigod?
Michael's gaze shifted toward the ghost's status information still lingering within his mind.
[Domain Law Technique: Ice Wheel]
"…it can only be this."
His excitement paused. The Domain Law Technique. It was still the one thing he couldn't properly inspect.
Michael had never seen such an entry on any Rank Four status panel. That strongly suggested it belonged specifically to Rank Five.
Maybe this was the defining difference.
A Demigod didn't merely possess more mana or a stronger body. They possessed something fundamentally different in their relationship with Laws.
Michael rubbed his chin. A thought appeared in his mind.
"…Hey."
"What?"
Divine Incarnation Possession allowed the host to share the properties of the original. The description had explicitly stated that at deeper synchronization, the host could reproduce characteristics of the original existence to an extreme degree.
Thanks to his class and the bribe he had offered, the harmony between them was already about as high as it could be right now.
"Hey, can you lend me your wheel?"
"The wheel?"
"Yes."
The answer came after a brief hesitation.
"You can try."
Michael's smile slowly widened.
"Let's try it."
Michael felt something enormous move inside their shared soul. It wasn't mana. Not exactly. Something deeper. It was more of a structure. Some sort of concept.
Michael's expression became serious.
"So this is…"
The ghost's intention touched his.
"Don't resist."
Michael almost laughed at the irony. Those had been his exact words to her earlier.
"Fine."
He relaxed.
The next instant, everything changed.
Behind Michael, space cracked, and a circle appeared.
No. It was a wheel.
It started small. Barely larger than Michael's head. Then it expanded.
Ten metres.
Fifty.
One hundred.
In seconds, an enormous silver-white wheel hovered behind Michael. Its surface was divided into countless concentric rings. Each ring rotated independently. Some clockwise. Others counterclockwise.
Majestic symbols Michael couldn't understand appeared across their surfaces, glowing with cold blue light.
At the center of the wheel rested an empty circle resembling a pupil.
BOOM!
The world changed.
The black plain disappeared beneath silver frost instantly. Every exposed surface within kilometres became covered in pale crystalline ice.
Michael's eyes widened as he felt a power stronger than anything he had ever experienced course through him.
It was different from the possession itself. If merging with the ghost had felt like carrying an ocean inside a cup, activating the wheel felt like the cup had briefly become the ocean's outlet, a narrow channel through which an entire Law flowed freely.
His body ached faintly under the pressure. Every heartbeat sent a fresh wave of that authority through his veins, cold and absolute, until his own pulse began to feel like it was keeping time with something far bigger than himself.
Michael slowly stretched out one hand. The silver-white wheel behind him rotated.
Krrrrrrrr…
The sound echoed through the surrounding regions.
Frost spread farther across the plain. But Michael immediately noticed something strange. The temperature wasn't the important part. It wasn't even particularly difficult for someone at his level to resist ordinary cold.
What Ice Wheel produced was fundamentally different.
The ice carried Law. Every flake of frost that appeared around him was saturated with an authority that made ordinary elemental ice feel like frozen water in comparison.
Michael clenched his fingers. A small shard of ice condensed above his palm. The shard was barely the length of his finger. Yet the moment it appeared, the space around it distorted faintly.
