Evolving My Undead Legion In A Game-Like World

Chapter 1348: Troublesome Fellows

Chapter 1348: Troublesome Fellows

Jester’s expression gradually became strange as he looked toward the northeast.

If I don’t do something, Lily might experience quite a bit of heartbreak in the future.

Then again, if things do turn out that way, it wouldn’t necessarily be bad. Even something as mundane as heartaches could help her grow considerably. Such experiences could sometimes produce rather remarkable changes in a person.

[A/N: Unserious joke at atlanta free nature. Nothing more. It’s a place you need to be once ?????????)

If Michael knew what Jester was currently thinking, he would probably have scoffed. Considering the things Jester himself had done, he was hardly qualified to criticize anyone or judge their morality.

Of course, given that this matter concerned his cousin, Michael’s thoughts would probably have been considerably more colorful if he had the knowledge Jester now had in his head. Unfortunately, Michael wasn’t here to hear Jester’s judgment.

Jester, completely unaware of how hypocritical his conclusion sounded, continued looking toward Atlanta with a thoughtful expression.

A moment later, he finally turned his attention toward the young girl standing beside him. Her expression remained dazed, and she appeared to have little understanding of what was happening around her.

For a moment, Jester considered leaving her behind. After all, he had already obtained the information he needed from her memories. There was no particular reason to continue bringing her along, especially now that he had determined where he needed to go.

However, after thinking about it, he changed his mind.

Better to keep her with me for now.

Although he had managed to narrow down his destination, the information he possessed wasn’t necessarily complete. There was still a possibility that some of his assumptions were incorrect.

And considering how much time he had already wasted finding an alternative way to reach this place, Jester felt that keeping the girl nearby would at least give him some room for error if anything unexpected happened.

Besides, bringing along an ordinary human was hardly troublesome for someone like him. Her presence wouldn’t slow him down or interfere with whatever he intended to do next.

With that thought, Jester raised his hand. An invisible force immediately enveloped the young girl, gently lifting her off the platform.

The girl remained dazed as Jester also rose into the air alongside her.

"Alright. Let’s go."

He looked toward the northeast. Without wasting another moment, Jester accelerated.

Whoosh!

His figure shot through the air, carrying the young girl along with him. The buildings beneath them rapidly grew smaller as he increased his speed, and the surrounding scenery soon began disappearing into the distance.

Meanwhile, in Atlanta, Lily and Timi were facing an unexpected situation.

A strange group of people had gathered around them, and judging from the expressions on their faces, these individuals had no intention of simply letting them leave.

"You filthy prophets, get out of my sight before I cut you to pieces and feed you to the dogs."

Timi’s voice was cold.

It was rather strange hearing such vicious words from someone who appeared to be only sixteen years old. However, this was Earth after the apocalypse.

Even a ten-year-old child wouldn’t necessarily look out of place making such threats, much less someone of Timi’s age.

What a headache.

Timi felt a dull pain forming between his brows. He had only wanted to show Lily around.

Was that really too much to ask?

Ever since bringing her to Earth, Timi had been rather careful about the places he took her. Although he had no intention of hiding the truth about humanity’s present circumstances forever, he didn’t want her first impression of Earth to consist entirely of the uglier aspects of life after the apocalypse.

At the very least, he wanted her to see that Earth still had some beautiful places. Despite everything that had happened, not every corner of the planet had been reduced to ruins and misery.

And so, rather than immediately bringing her to his settlement, he had taken her on a short sightseeing trip.

Their journey had carried them through several locations around Sandy Springs and the greater Atlanta area.

He had shown her the remains of the Georgia Aquarium, whose enormous structure still stood despite the changes Earth had undergone. Although its former glory had faded considerably, the abandoned building remained an impressive sight.

There was also Piedmont Park, where the surrounding vegetation had grown considerably wilder than it had been before the apocalypse.

Although many of its original facilities had deteriorated, the park still possessed a certain beauty. The contrast between the overgrown greenery and the distant remains of the city gave the place an atmosphere quite different from what it once had.

They had even passed through the area surrounding the Atlanta Botanical Garden.

Much of the garden’s carefully maintained appearance had long disappeared, but several sections had survived in good condition.

Of course, Timi had also shown her the distant skyline of Atlanta.

Many buildings had been damaged or abandoned, while others had been reclaimed by the survivors who continued living in the region.

Nevertheless, the sight of those enormous structures standing against the sky was still impressive. Even after everything humanity had experienced, traces of its former civilization remained visible throughout the city.

For Lily, the experience was particularly novel, thanks to Earth’s present environment.

Seeing her reaction put Timi in a rather good mood.

Unfortunately, such peaceful moments never seemed to last.

They had only just finished sightseeing, and Timi was preparing to take Lily back to his settlement to meet his sisters before taking everyone out together when this group of people approached them.

At first, he hadn’t thought much of it.

However, when the strangers began surrounding them, Timi immediately realized that something was wrong.

And after hearing what they had to say, his already limited patience had completely disappeared.

Of all the people we could have encountered, why did it have to be these fellows?

Timi stared at the group with an increasingly unpleasant expression.

Beside him, Lily remained silent, watching the situation unfold with obvious curiosity.

The leader of the group stepped forward, a fanatical look on his face.

His eyes shone with an almost feverish enthusiasm as he looked at the two of them.

"Once again, I welcome you to embrace the Great Truth!"

"Not interested," Timi replied coldly.

The man’s smile reminded.

"Very well. You may leave, but the girl must stay behind."
