Chapter 514 514: Greater Dream Demon
Chapter 514 514: Greater Dream Demon
He half expected that as they got this skill, there would be sounds of destruction however it wasn't like so... Irene did come running to the daily reward box.
"My lord... I feel very weird." She said and he turned to her.
"Weird? How?"
Her hands were trembling slightly. It was not from fear, but from something else entirely.
"I feel like I can grow stronger." She said and Azel smiled.
"That's a gift from me to you all... Use it." He said.
He needed to know if this would work while they were in their human forms or if it was limited to their werewolf forms. This was crucial information for future combat scenarios since if anything happened to the world again, he planned to use his Werewolf army this time.
Why have an army when you didn't use them?
She nodded and they noticed that the air around her changed immediately and then a crackling red aura began seeping out of her body.
It was like when a Grand Mage used mana. The immense mana being used created a disturbance in the air and began appearing all around their bodies... It was the exact same thing here.
The temperature in the room rose and even the floorboards creaked under the pressure.
The aura she was giving off was so dense that it began appearing over her body. The amount of power granted to them by this skill was quite strong indeed.
She looked up at Azel and he was prepared if she lost her mind and attacked him or something but her tail wagged behind her.
"My Lord... I feel very strong." She reported. "Like I can punch a clean hole through the Mansion walls though I won't do it since they are so cost."
Her voice was steady and she was maintaining her sanity perfectly despite the massive power surge. It made the skill more useful in combat as he wouldn't like to handle werewolves who had lost all their sanity just to use a skill.
"I see." He said. "Please turn over the box then, there are a lot of rewards in here and I need to check them out."
"Yes Master." She walked over and Azel gave her some space.
The daily reward box was heavy... he could lift it but for something that was that big, it would be a bit uncomfortable however Irene lifted it easily and let the opening fall over a bit while she still kept it suspended in the air with one hand and several things fell out.
The first thing was a bunch of pouches containing ares. He could recognize the particular jingle from it literally anywhere and they were gold too.
The sound was unmistakable as the metal clinked against metal, that specific weight and tone that only gold ares made.
The Dar jumped off his shoulder and pushed one to him. He leaned down and collected it. It was certainly Gold ares.
It was heavy too and probably thousands in this pouch alone. He could feel the weight of the coins through the leather.
'I'm even richer than before...' He thought, he never had issues with money but this was just overkill.
The next were rare minerals. Several bags fell and each of them contained different minerals like Wyvern scales, Magi-ore, enchanted crystals and so much more.
The pile kept growing. Resources he could use for crafting, trading, or upgrading equipment. Some of these materials were worth fortunes in the capital.
After that was weapons... actual weapons this time. There were about thirty enchanted swords and spears, with it being split 15 per weapon and after that was skill books.
There were actual skillbooks for Swordsmanship, Spearmanship, Hunting and whatnot. It seemed the System, or rather the Daily reward box was being very grateful today.
The books were leather-bound and thick with knowledge that would normally take years of training condensed into readable format.
After that were a lot of rations and something tumbled over to his feet.
He picked it up.
A token made of what looked like crystallized mana.
[Territory Upgrade Token]
[Using this will upgrade your territory immediately]
'It really seems like it's in a good mood.' He thought.
Three months of accumulated rewards and it was paying out spectacularly. He'd never seen this many valuable items at once.
The items finished after several packs of magical seeds came out but there was an item that intrigued him.
It was a dress with a big chest area and black extendable fabric. Designed for someone with a very generous figure. Why would the system give him clothing?
He wondered why the Daily reward box gave that to him but he kept it in his Inventory as well as the Token.
Unlike last time, he would gather everyone together before using it to upgrade the territory. It was an opportunity to advertise his return to Lycas even more and gain more loyalty, if that was even possible.
He looked over at Irene who had dropped the huge box.
"Thanks a lot. It really makes you strong. I'll be heading to the forest now so please arrange all that for when I return." Azel said and she gave him a salute as she got to work.
He looked at the Dar that was on his shoulder once more. "Alright, let's find you some prey."
The little creature chirped excitedly.
...
"Don't you think you're being a bit too hars–"
BAM!
He used the back of his bone sword to hit the head of the unlucky monster that he had caught and tied to a tree.
It was a big squirrel and after that, Azel let the Dar down. The squirrel slumped unconscious since it was still breathing but it was completely down for the count.
"Do your thing..." He said.
They needed to dance around and do a little ritual before being able to absorb it, right? That's how it had worked before.
However the Dar opened its mouth and a white beam of light shot out, eviscerating the monster's body completely and then the smoke that followed began seeping into the Dar.
'Did it eat the dream? Or just kill the dreamer...?' Azel thought.
He was pretty confused about what had just happened. The process was completely different from before, it was more violent... but the Dar soon let out a white glow.
[Dar Tribe Chief is evolving...]
He took several steps away and even Gwen and Samantha watched with awe as the mana kept on seeping out in white, surrounding the Dar's body.
'I wonder what it will turn to...' He thought as he watched.
The white mana got intense and blew at his hair. His clothes rippled from the energy. The trees around them swayed despite there being no wind.
[Dar Tribe Chief has reached Rank 4]
[Ambient mana is being gathered...]
The evolution that had dimmed down rose back up as the mana in the air, in the trees and even from the ground soared into the Dar's body and web-like cracks began forming on the ground as Azel took another leap backward and the ground caved in.
It was really giving off intense amounts of mana now... The pressure made the air feel thick and hard to breathe.
Gwendolyn floated back further and even Samantha retreated into his shadow completely.
[Dar Tribe Chief has reached Rank 3]
The mana spike slowly died down and he walked over to the Dar. The crater wasn't that deep and its body was currently filled with smoke.
Azel walked closer and the smoke finally began clearing.
What was there was no longer a Dar but a black haired woman with black eyes and big breasts. She was just there standing naked and looking at him with joy in her eyes.
"Ma..." Her voice cracked a bit and she cleared her throat. "Master."
It was like a melody and that was after hearing so many melodious voices in his life.
She turned to him completely and her breasts jiggled once, carrying enough bounce to make him wonder how it would feel to touch them.
Edna wasn't lying when she said he preferred big breasts, however the dress materialized in his hand from his Inventory and he threw it at her face making her stumble in the crater.
"Wear this..." He said as he turned around.
How did a regular Dar even become a human? Or rather she wasn't complete human since she had two black horns protruding from her forehead.
They were pretty little though and she had some weird magical presence with horns that curved slightly backward. He was sure of it now... The Dar had become a demon instead.
He turned around after not even hearing some fumbling to see her looking at the dress on the ground.
She hadn't even worn it at all or picked it up.
She was just staring at it with a confused expression.
He walked to her.
"Wear..." He said and she gave him a questioning look as if she didn't understand what he simply meant by wear. "So you don't understand?"
She gave a nod.
'From understanding human language to not understanding it... this Rank up is crazy.' He thought.
It was like trading brains for power. If the rest of the Dar Tribe ranked up, would they have to be taught from scratch? He'd have a tribe of powerful idiots running around.
Despite the jealous look that Gwendolyn was giving him, he approached the crater and noticed that she had a tail as well.
It was black with a pointed tip and it swayed behind her like a cat's.
He looked at the tab above her head.
[Greater Dream Demon, Rank 3]
'I see... Dars become demons then.' He thought though her body was more fit for a Succubus more than a demon.
The curves... The face... and the overall aesthetic screamed succubus but the system called her a Dream Demon.
He leaned down and took the dress from the ground.
"Up." He told her and she gave a nod.
There was a cracking sound as her back began bleeding and two demonic wings emerged from her back and flapped once blowing wind everywhere.
She was now floating above him.
The wings were bat-like and the membrane was stretched between bone, despite that, they beat the air with surprising force.
"Come back! That's not what I meant." He said and the Dar went down while retracting her wings.
The wings folded back into her body and the wounds closed immediately. He looked at her back and saw that blood was still there but the wound from using her wings was healed up so he materialized ice in his hand and melted it.
The cold water ran down her back, washing away the blood and making her yelp as it cleaned the wound.
She shivered... The water was freezing.
"That's what you get when you don't listen."
After that he made the hands up motion and she copied him then he wore her the dress that fit her perfectly.
The chest area was tight but accommodated her and it stretched too... The Daily reward box had definitely known this was coming.
"Alright we're going back to town... be on your best-"
There was buzzing. An immense amount of buzzing was coming from the route leading straight ahead and there was screaming too.
"HELP!!!" Ravik ran past Azel and the Dream Demon completely while holding his son and screaming.
His face was pale and completely terrified.
There were giant bees following him and they had locked onto Azel as well as his new companion.
The bees were massive and each one the size of a large dog with stingers as long as daggers.
'Imagine giving him a 100x explosive power and he's still running...' He thought with a shake of his head.
He really needed to discipline Ravik later... The man had access to overwhelming strength and was still fleeing like a coward instead of fighting. Was this how he was going to act with a war over the horizon?
Upon sensing the danger, the Dream Demon raised her hand and a blast of purple flames followed, consuming all the bee monsters, both big and small into wisps and even burned through the ground, leaving a crater.
The flames were hot enough that Azel felt the heat from where he stood. The bees didn't even have time to scream.
"O... Oh..." He said.
The Dars that were once one of the weakest in the food chain could really become this strong. One gesture and she'd wiped out an entire swarm.
"Master..." Her black tail shook excitedly. "Pet me."
She lowered her head for a pat.
'So she knows the meaning of pet me...' He thought as he caressed her hair and she purred.
The purr was almost identical to how the Dar used to sound, it seems some things carried over.
[Greater Dream Demon wants a name...]
[Please give her a name to proceed]
