Chapter 1489: His Power

Chapter 1489: His Power

Sylas' eyes glowed.

Right now, he was being led by his Intuition. Not only could he sense exactly what path would help Gogo evolve, but he could feel the way to maximize it.

Before, the King Serpent's presence had blocked the method and he didn't know exactly how to execute it. He knew that the King Serpent was involved, but he had no way of knowing how.

But now, everything was so impossibly clear to him that he could have done it with his eyes closed. And because of that, he could take an extra bit of risk.

His mind was being run by the engine that was Vipermancy, so his presence could entirely focus on controlling the Scorned Wraps to maximize this opportunity.

BOOM.

The aura of a D-tier erupted and the F-Grade territory began to crumble beneath its presence. Sylas, himself, almost collapsed. However... [You have restrained a Sacred D- tier Serpentes]

[You have been rewarded Free Experience Points]

[One Kind For Me has reached Level 100]

[Were-for-the-Invincible has reached Level 100]

[Taboo Bond has reached Level 100]

Sylas' eyes flowed with a fiery light and the process only became easier. The D-tier Serpentes before him was restrained and forced into a pigeonhole.

He stood tall before it, his power surging with a great deal of menace and unrestrained arrogance.

With that, he reached a palm forward.

Extricate.

There was no way it should have worked. This was a D-tier existence, and even at Level 100, Taboo Bond was only able to pull Genes and the like from existences up to the E- tier at most. It shouldn't have worked on D-tier existences.

However... this was a Serpentes. Sylas had focused a lot on the changes his Vipermancy Profession had brought to Were-for-the-Invincible and One Kind For Me after reaching Bronze, but he hadn't paid much attention to what happened to Taboo Bond since there were no obvious changes.

This change, though, was the only one he needed, and the exact one he would rely on right now.

After reaching Bronze, Taboo Bond could now Extricate Genes from Serpents a Tier above its usual limits.

Meaning...

Sylas' aura flared and his presence surged. The Beast Totem at his back roared with more life and vitality than it ever had before.

Right this moment, the strength of his Legendary Wisdom Gene displayed its might. Before, he would have likely already run into the limit of what his mind could handle.

But now?

Everything had changed.

Sylas' Fusion with Gogo was cancelled, the clashing auras making the baby Basilisk King feel as though he could die at any moment.

But right now, he was staring at the King Serpent's corpse with heat in his eyes. To have such power even in death, and from a clone at that, just how powerful was its real body? Gogo wanted that power. In fact, he was certain that that power was somewhere within his body. It was the power of his Ancestors, the power of his birthright, the power he was owed.

His power.

His heart thrummed like thunder in his ears, the horns that adorned his head like a crown suddenly beginning to protrude more and more.

Sylas had been about to do something, but despite the pain and strain his mind was in, he actually paused and held instead.

He could feel the surge in Gogo's heart, the menace, the desire to be greater, to be stronger.

No, it was more than desire. It was an almost acceptance that this would be him one day, that he would reach this level no matter what, because that was what he was owed.

It was a pride he deserved to have, to be like his ancestor and fight back against those that would dare to have him crawl on his belly.

Gogo roared, a violent upswell of momentum coming from markings of gold that began to adorn his ink-black scales.

[Voice of a King (FFF+) (Sacred Talent)][Voice of a King (FFF+) (Growth Skill l[Basilisk's Crown (FFF+) (Growth Skill)] The moment Sylas saw the notification, the veins bulging on his forehead practically burst as he began to push again.

He roared, large amounts of Genes, Gene Talents, Blood Essence, and Bone Essence rushing for Gogo.

However, he wasn't giving Gogo the abilities of the World Serpent. Though it would be trivial for Sylas to do this, this wasn't his desire.

instead, he wanted to undo the remaining Gene Locks on Gogo's body and unlock his full potential.

His companion wasn't a World Serpent, he was a Basilisk. And Basilisks would roar to the skies again too.

ROAR.

In a familiar cabin on the first floor, the Milky Way Horizon team was still sitting in silence. No one had come to bother them, and the announcement that Sylas had been the first to reach the second floor had left them in silence for a very long while.

Every floor was supposed to take years at their strength, and how long had it been since Sylas left?

A few days... maybe?

How was it even possible for there to be such a gap?

At that moment, the cloaked figure among them suddenly stood. Jala was about to say something, but Alex pressed a palm against his chest and made him stay seated.

No one said anything as the cloaked figure just directly walked out and disappeared from their line of sight.

Whatever he was going to do had nothing to do with them.
