Chapter 2282: How Dare You?

Chapter 2282: How Dare You?

"Don't get in my way, Santz." The female S-tier said coldly. "I can feel you encroaching on my Will. Don't think I won't have a falling out with you over this."

The old man chuckled. "I'm just curious, I'm just curious. You seem to be very eager to catch him all of a sudden. Do you mind telling me why that is?"

"Are you not chasing after him with me? Are we not going at the same speed? What are you talking about?"

She received yet another chuckle in reply. "We're only going at the same speed because I'm intoxicated by your scent. It's been a while since we've shared a bed. What do you say we have another go at it after we teach this brat a lesson?"

Her expression went cold. How could she be interested in laying with this man again when a chance to build out a perfect army of descendants was right in front of her?

"Why do you look so offended?" Santz asked with a chuckle. "I seem to remember you liking it quite a bit before."

"You are delusional?"

"Really?" Santz blinked. "I definitely remember you moaning."

"This is exactly why I haven't laid with you in 700 years. I was clearing my throat. I've told you this a million times already. I've grown tired of having this same conversation with you."

"Eloise, my dear, I still dream of you every night. Don't do this to me." Santz feigned pain, gripping his chest with a hand.

Then he sent out another casual palm strike at the ship.

"Hm?" Eloise's eyes narrowed as she sensed something watching them. She looked toward the ship and spoke out coldly. "Stop now and I can guarantee your life. If you do not, don't blame us for what happens."

"Now you want to save another man's life in front of me? I'm hurt, Eloise," Santz laughed. But he was even more sure now that Eloise had sensed something that he hadn't.

What he didn't know was that what Eloise had sensed was entirely useless to him unless he had a daughter he wanted to offer up.

"He is a D-tier who nearly wiped out all of the higher ups of both of our guilds. Do you think it's that simple? If you thought more with your head instead of that shriveled up shrub in your pants, you'd want to catch him alive too."

Santz chuckled. "Indeed. But in my opinion, such a threat should be killed quicker rather than slower. If he really is a D-tier, then he's too dangerous to keep around. You can't possibly control a man like that."

Eloise's heart skipped a beat. She felt as though there was a hidden meaning in Santz's words, but the old man was probably correct.

Her expression grew cold.

"There'll be little he can do if he's enslaved to a contract." She said.

"A contract now, huh?" Santz laughed. "Are you really not going to tell me why you're so interested in him? It can't be that you've never tasted a handsome young man before, right? Granted, I guess he's a little above average."

Eloise turned a glare toward Santz. The old man just did nothing but speak nonsense all the time.

Plus, Sylas was far from "average". Let alone just a little above.

"So offended already. It seems my precious Eloise really does have a crush. I am jealous, too jealous." Santz sighed.

BOOM.

The eyes of both constricted into pinholes. What just happened?

Cheri felt like her soul was leaving her body.

"De… demon…"

She stared at Sylas' back, her eyes wide. She fell down another spiraling rabbit hole, her soul leaving her body.

She was finished. Completely and utterly finished. There was simply no way Sylas would let her live after seeing this.

Her eyes turned toward Isolde and Cedric. These two were important to Sylas, no? Should she try to capture them before… BOOM.

The ship rocked again and they were suddenly ripped out of the Demi-God Plane.

BANG.

Cheri's body slammed into the ground. Bones in her cheeks shattered on impact. An aura the likes of which she had never experienced in her life was pressing onto her shoulders.

Just… what was this…?

Was this… Sylas…?

...

At that moment, a creature whose body could have wrapped around and crushed a star system in a single flex looked up.

For a moment, Gentrixaul couldn't believe it. That aura, he recognized it so very clearly. And he simply couldn't believe… That it would actually dare to appear again.

"How… dare… you…?"

His maw opened, a maw that could have swallowed stars at a time, a maw that could have crushed a blackhole's density in its teeth.

And then he roared, a beam of light cutting across the vastness of space with such speed it crushed everything in its wake.

...

Santz and Eloise felt like their Wills had become an elastic band, yanking them up from their positions and smashing them down in a plane they didn't immediately recognize. And how could they? They had simply never been here before.

But when they felt the weight of the world, and the presence of everything around them, their eyes couldn't help but widen.

"God Plane!" the shock in their voices was evident. But there was no happiness in their gazes at all.

They were S-tiers. If they had truly wanted to go to the God Plane, they could have long ago.

They didn't because they had duties on the Demi-God Plane and because they knew exactly what would happen if they came here… They would go from the large fishes in a shallow pond…

To guppies in a vast, endless ocean.

Their bodies froze in place as an aura beyond them locked onto their locations. They saw the beam coming from a distance long before it landed and their expressions became completely ashen.

Even they… had not a single right to defend against such a strike.

This being… was impossibly far beyond them.

However… Sylas, his ship, and his parents… were also in the way of this beam.

Chi.

Everything in the vicinity was swallowed whole.
